The Spookier Republic of The Uhhhh is a colossal, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Dumb Dumbington with an even hand, and notable for its museums and concert halls, compulsory military service, and fear of technology. The compassionate, devout population of 2.774 billion Uhhhhians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.
The medium-sized government juggles the competing demands of Education, Administration, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Huh. The average income tax rate is 35.1%, but much higher for the wealthy.
The thriving Uhhhhian economy, worth 234 trillion No Ideas a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Tourism industry, with significant contributions from Cheese Exports, Basket Weaving, and Book Publishing. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 84,566 No Ideas, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.1 times as much as the poorest.
Forgotten trend connoisseurs turn their nose at one wrinkle, hypochondriacs demand treatment for genetic disorders they don't have, torture is illegal, and candidates make campaign speeches at the funerals of former rivals. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown. The Uhhhh's national animal is the What, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is Dumb Religion.
The Uhhhh is ranked 18,809th in the world and 621st in The North Pacific for Most Compassionate Citizens, scoring 55.14 on the Kitten Softness Rating.
