The Dictatorship of KDura is a massive, genial nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service, state-planned economy, and irreverence towards religion. The compassionate, cynical population of 1.253 billion K'Durans are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The large, corrupt, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Education, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 52.9%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but sluggish K'Duran economy, worth 37.3 trillion Sa'ures a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient black market in Tourism, Arms Manufacturing, Retail, and Door-to-door Insurance Sales. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 29,738 Sa'ures, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Punk rockers smash it up and then clean it up, universities spend millions cultivating ivy on their buildings, businesses are required to round down their profits, and the military recognizes no difference between male and female soldiers. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. KDura's national animal is the Blood Hawk, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.

KDura is ranked 294,281^st in the world and 4,002^nd in The North Pacific for Most Developed, scoring 50.44 on the Human Development Index.
