The Sultanate of Yven is a huge, environmentally stunning nation, renowned for its compulsory vegetarianism, compulsory military service, and irreverence towards religion. The compassionate, democratic population of 700 million Yvenians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The enormous government prioritizes Administration, with Education, Law & Order, and Welfare also on the agenda, while Spirituality receives no funds. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Ylen. The average income tax rate is 62.4%.

The sizeable but inefficient Yvenian economy, worth 25.1 trillion ferus a year, is quite specialized and led by the Basket Weaving industry, with major contributions from Information Technology, Tourism, and Cheese Exports. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 35,850 ferus, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 3.3 times as much as the poorest.

Celebrity chefs are thought to be the progenitors of all food, enthusiasm for abstract art has gone up in smoke, corporations claim the third ounce of any metal traded in a wicker-cone on the Sunday of a full moon as a charitable expense, and dreams of entering the Super League have been relegated to the history books. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Yven's national animal is the sabercat, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.
