Greetings!

Celestara RP
Another Day of Work Pt. 1:

Pathos Upper Ring, Wing 3, sector 54

Jay's hand held down on her cheek as her body slumped down against the cafeteria table. The morning breakfast certainly doesn't help to give her energy. Her gaze is locked dead on her tray, for the main course she has a fantastic brown, chunky sludge, for appetizer she has a crunchy, unidentifiable green squares, and for dessert, the classic for all C-Types, none. She grunted in frustration, she looked away from her tray and towards her surroundings, but the sight only made her more upset. White walls, white tiles, white sliding doors, white tables and fellow C-Types in white uniform, all of which are drowned in a sterile white light. Only the loud chatter and arguments break the illusion of order instilled by the lack of color.

"Ugh, when will we get better rations..." Jay slumped even more, her entire upper body is on the table now. "I want meaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaattttttttt...."

A hand suddenly pushed her head away, her head snapped back to where it came from. She saw Laurie, the senior engineer of their sector.

"Breakfast is the most important meal, and I certainly don't want your hair in mine." Her mouth is still stuffed with food, making her sound somewhat funny. "Also, are you going to eat that or not?" She pointed in Jay's plate.

She slowly pushed her plate towards Laurie. Laurie smiled as she put all the contents of Jay's plate in hers. "You gotta eat you know. If the performance of our team is affected by you we'll get demoted."

Jay stayed silent, lost in her thought. Then a very, very smart idea appeared on her thought. She stood back up with renewed energy which made everyone in the table flinch.

"I have an idea for us to get better rations. This will surely work!" She wear a proud smile as she laughed gently "MUHAHAHAHAHA"

"Sure, what is it Volmer?" Neil, the senior loading specialist of their team said in an annoyed tone. "I hope it doesn't get us demoted. Hmm, when did we last get demoted because of your ideas again?" He sarcastically asked, he looked at the other members of their team as everyone nod with him. (Note: Volmer refers to a scientist and is used much like Einstein)

"Uhh... Last week?" She said in a forced innocent tone, even her smile is forced. She tried not to incur the wrath of Neil. "Did I-"

"WRONG!" He shouted, almost everyone in the cafeteria looked at them. "It was 6 days ago dumbass! You can't even remember, and most importantly you don't take responsibility!"

"Hey look at them going at it again!' "Neil don't hurt our little princess." "Somebody call the guards-!" A crowd started forming around their table, the other workers are excited to see a fight of Neil and Jay again. Their team didn't get the 'Reject Squad' title for no reason.

A loud bang silenced everything, it was not the guards but Laurie with a smuggled gun. Her hand raised at the air as she shot at the ceiling. "Someone's eating can't you see?" She glared at everyone in the crowd, and most importantly to Neil. Everyone quickly dispersed and Neil was forced to calm down.

"I think we should let Jay say her idea, what do you say Particle Array Team?" She pointed her gun at every member of her team.

"Yes ma'am!" They all said in unison.

"So," Jay spoke. "What if we go on a strike?"

Everyone froze in shock of the idea, then it erupted. "ARE YOU TRYING TO GET US KILLED!?", "Hahaha, NO!", "I heard sector 50 was almost annihilated because of that-", "NOOOO!!!!", "Go alone, I'm sure the police won't shoot at you."

Even Laurie loss her temper at the stupidity of the idea. Her gun is pressed against the temple of Jay. "Jay, I know you were special and all, but this is too much.... Looks like I'm going to fire you before our boss does."

"Wait, wait, everyone! Calm Down! I'm not finished yet!" She yelled as she tried to get everyone to calm down, well more importantly not to murk her. "We will go on a strike for 13 minutes only! The police takes 15 minutes to arrive here!"

"And what will 13 minutes of 'strike' gonna do, huh?" Neil responded, his hand clasping her collar as he pulled her closer.

"It might just convince boss... Right? Hehehehe." She smiled nervously, waiting for the answers of her team. "We won't get another chance once the law against labor strikes have been fully lobbied."

They all fell in silence as they weigh the situation. Then Laurie suddenly stood up the table posing in a heroic pose that only made her look funny.

"Everyone, members of the Particle Array Team, we will go on a 13 minute strike tomorrow. Is that clear?" Laurie looked back at Jay and smiled. She went down the table and to the floor.

She walked towards Jay, and whispered something. "You go tell that to Boss. He doesn't like surprises." She then walked away from her laughing.

"Why me! Boss already dislikes me, Laurie!" She tried to catch up to her, but she had already disappeared into the crowd. "Come on, why me? I want to get promoted.... Not this."

˙⋆✮ Celestara - Mitena, Mechamage, & Mystery Malfunctions - #1 ✮⋆˙

📢 "Howdy meowdy, Alainia! Are ✨you ✨ experiencing crippling mechanical problems? Something that can't be solved by your standard psymage who spends half a rotation vacationing on Cerulea? Or, maybe your standard mechanic doesn't have the touch that's needed?" 👎

"Well, no look no further than -- 🌈 Mitena Mechanics! 🌈 That's right, friends! I - Mitena, the famed mechamage(I made that up!) can solve all your problems... today!" 🙂‍↕️

"Using my patented methods, there's not a problem out there that I haven't solved! Ship completely broken down? No problem ✅! Your planet's life sustaining core's experiencing a fatal meltdown that's rapidly increasing temperatures and is bound to result in the deaths of billions by the next solar cycle? Been there, done that ✅!"

"So, why don't you send us a message? 🌌 Mitena Mechanics 🌌 - for the problems nobody else can solve!"

Mitena sighed. She sat down in the chair, her blue ears folded tucked her as she opened a can of mana-infused energy drink (how healthy!) and took a massive gulp. It's admittedly taken her a few takes to get this ad right - as charismatic as she considers herself, she still finds herself frozen in front of a recorder that's compiling her message to send across the entire Federation. Of course, she wasn't the one who would have to do most of the work of her guild - obviously, Mitena Mechanics had dozens of highly skilled mechamages at its disposal, many who had been mentored by her over the centuries - but she was still the face of.. mechamages, in general, through her work, which had earned her the official commission of the Alainian Federation itself on many occasions. Little did she know that such a time was immediately upon her, as one of her staffers approached her.

    "Miss Mitena..?"

Her ears popped out in surprise and her eyes thrust open, as she'd truthfully been zoned out in self-reflection. "Y-Yes!?"

"We have a message, from the Astralress. I have it ready to play. It's somewhat lengthy, so get comfortable, and take notes."

The recording, which took the form of audio as well as a long-distance psycast that manifested in the recording's viewers seeing video imagery in their minds, started playing. In it, the Astralress of the Alainian Federation confided in Mitena - the Federation, specifically an exploration ship operated by a powerful psymage who was familiar with first contacts by this point, had received a signal that felt, well, dead... In a literal sense, it came from an entity that called itself The Dead Signal. And in the more figurative sense, the entity seemed to consist of an infrastructure network of androids under the direction of The Archive. The Archive, seemingly wanting to expand its knowledge, asked for some information regarding the Alainian Federation - some which could be shared in simple numbers, some, well, which could not!

Long things short, this entity wasn't deemed particularly dangerous, but why it was contacting the Alainian Federation specifically, despite being on the far side of the galaxy (and something that had escaped our perception), was of concern to the Astralress, who wanted to dispatch Mitena to get to the bottom of how exactly this Archive worked, what condition it was in, and what it was planning as it pertains to the Celestara Galaxy.

After the recording, Mitena, of course, chugged the rest of her energy drink before dispelling the now emptied can across the breakroom. She rubbed her eyes, looked at her staffer, rubbed her eyes again, blinked, and then gave a slight smile and then softly shook her head. Finally, her ears set themselves back to rest behind her head.

"...Hehe. Heh...looks like I'm at the Astralress' calling again. This time, they want me to go across Celestara, to the origin of this signal sent by this mech hivemind civilization, to find out what it wants from us? Simple enough!~ I accept!"

With a burst of energy, Mitena forced herself to jolt up form the chair. She thanked her staffer before departing immediately to prepare two things: a short message to the Astralress confirming that she's on it immediately, and to prepare one of her ships, this time a voyager ship she used to visit her longer-distance clients, for the journey. Luckily, the Dead Signal wasn't completely in the middle of nowhere in terms of the Celestara Galaxy. It was apparently connected to the Starlane System in several systems, though...who knew the state those gates were in? Mitena supposed she would find out.

And so, Mitena prepared her ship and departed, along with an accompanying crew, all of whom were excited for a new adventure but annoyed (to varying extents) on being drawn away from their normal lives on such a short notice to travel across the galaxy. Her ship, simply deemed the Misfortune (a name she can't quite remember why she picked), was a sleek exploration vessel, somewhat similar in resemblance to the older Solvagus-class voyager ships.

As Mitena began her transit, she recorded a message to send back to the Dead Signal, providing the information the Archive asked for (including an explanation on the emotions and irrational behaviors that Alainians exhibited that was...rather personal to Mitena's own upbringing and experiences), before stating that she and a small, unarmed crew had been dispatched to meet with the Dead Signal and would like a destination in the Starlane Network as well as further directions on navigation.

Here's some amazing events we have and had!

Let's Play Stellaris Together -- a Space-Based Game About Strategy, Civilization, and Conquest

Greetings, friends and citizens of Starlight and Horizon! As those who are interested in the stars, and also in running a country, there's quite many of us who also enjoy Stellaris -- a Paradox Game that combines the two in one silly, but fascinating interstellar grand strategy game. On May 9th, 2:00 PM EST, the Ministry of Culture in Starlight and Horizon will organize a multiplayer campaign for the game, letting us bond and compete over the stars!

Will your civilization become spacefaring and prosperous? Might one of your states in Celestara or Nebulon RP make a respectable cameo? Come to HyperSpace Echo, our regional discord hangout space’s voice channel, to find out!

~ Unmuting your mics will be completely optional for the event ~

Interested? Here’s some information:

Event Format

This will be a multi-player campaign of Stellaris, between multiple real people, played in our shared Discord Hangout Space. For the unaccquainted, Stellaris is a paradox game designed about instellar civilization building and drama! It is especially fun to play with other real-life people, and we hope this event will offer you that unique opportunity.

If you do not have Stellaris or cannot make it, you may DM @comradeevelyn (Foixla), the event organizer, with some details about your desired empire and it will be included as a (game) AI-controlled empire! Stellaris should also be on discount now for those who were interested in the game.

Event Time

There will be two campaigns for Starlight Stellaris night. We encourage you to make both, or whatever one you can!

The first part of the event will start on May 9th, 2:00 PM EST.
The second part of the event will start on May 10th, 2:00 PM EST.

The ‘Starlight Stellaris' event will be organized on the Linkofficial server of Starlight and Horizon!

How Do I Join?

To join, simply show up and join the VC when the event starts on our server!

~ You may also DM @comradeevelyn (Foixla) if you are interested ahead of time, or if you'd just like an NPC camero in the campaign. ~

Both residents of Starlight and Horizon and those in friendly regions to Starlight may participate. This event will observe the Starlight Sanctions Act, as mandatory for regional law. In addition, the event host reserves the right to make final decisions on event entry.

Have any further questions? Please feel free to ask @comradeevelyn (Foixla). You may also read out to @greatkitteh on Discord or telegram Stevist Guam!

~ Around the World in Starlight and Horizon -- NationStates Themed ‘Would you Rather?’ ~

Greetings, friends and citizens of Starlight and Horizon! Frontierfest is on the horizon, and involves an activity called ‘Around the World in 80 Frontiers,’ where festivalgoers will tour across some of unique frontier regions that populate the multiverse. On May 16th, our region will be featured, and the Ministry of Culture in Starlight and Horizon is planning to celebrate our beautiful history and community on that day with a NationStates themed 'Would You Rather?' game at 5:00 PM EST!

Would you rather be a PR manager for NationStates staff, or get muted from all NS-related servers for a week? Eat only sauceless pasta for a month, or be forced to live in New Jersey for a year? Organize a military operation only using ‘Forum 7,’ or try to moderate a discord server for ‘NationStates General?’

Come to HyperSpace Echo, our regional discord hangout space’s voice channel, to answer humorous questions like these and discuss the merits of each answer with others!

~ Unmuting your mics will be completely optional for the event ~

Interested? Here’s some information:

Event Format

This will be a would you rather game, where the host will ask a few ‘would you rather’ questions that the audience will vote on! Each vote will leave around 5 minutes for debate and discussion, as part of the appeal of ‘would you rather’ is seeing whether your vote will line up with the general audience’s.

Each ‘would you rather’ question will be based on subtle references to different aspects of our region’s culture, history, and activities, but no context of Starlight or Horizon will be required to answer these humorous hypotheticals. In fact, after each vote, the host will also briefly explain the inspirations of each question, making this even not just an experience for humor but also a type of personal, guided tour in the story of our regions.

Event Time

The event will start on May 16th, 5:00 PM EST. It will be organized on the Linkofficial server of Starlight and Horizon, as a part of Frontierfest!

How Do I Join?

To join, simply show up and join the VC when the event starts on our server!

Both residents of Starlight and Horizon and those partaking in the Frontierfest festival may participate. This event will observe the Starlight Sanctions Act, as mandatory for regional law. In addition, the event host reserves the right to make final decisions on event entry.

Have any further questions? Please feel free to reach out to @greatkitteh on Discord or telegram Stevist Guam!

“In Imantica, dawn can have multiple meanings. For some, dawn means the sun has come to maintain the same day-and-night cycle that has ruled this world for thousands of years, a reminder that time always flows and the world always exists to wait for us. For others, the dawn represents the sun breaking the sky. It means that yesterday has come to pass, and a new, radical future must now lie ahead."

Welcome, grand adventurers, into the immersive world of Dawnbreak!

The Ministry of Culture in Starlight and Horizon, in revelry of the roleplay creations of the sister regions, will be hosting a very special roleplay event: ‘Dawnbreak and Dragons,’ a series of custom, weekly tabletop roleplaying sessions based around Horizon’s community-built RP world! The event will last from August 1st to August 30th, with weekly sessions in the weekends.

~ Please come join us for some special nights of low-stakes tabletop enjoyment! No prior experience is needed, and you do not need to be in the Dawnbreak RP to participate! ~

Interested? Here’s some information:

The World of Dawnbreak

The event is set in the world of ‘Dawnbreak,’ the fantasy-world of Horizon, created by dozens of community members in Starlight and Horizon that have added their countries, characters, and stories into one map.

More specifically, the plot of ‘Dawnbreak and Dragons’ takes place 200 years before the start of the current Dawnbreak era. It will center around Imantica, a nation of the ‘Roca’ known for its adherence to faith, its increasingly unstable monarchy, its avid isolationism, and its never-ending war with a group of elvenkind known as ‘the Crimson Order’ that seek to destroy all Imantica stands for. The Kingdom will invite heroes from all over the world to protect Imantica against a particularly worrying breach of these warlike elves, but instability and intrigue will soon have their way, forcing the heroes into a crossroads between an imperfect monarch and a flawed aristocrat, who both stand for different values. Will the heroes choose to ultimately preserve a decaying monarchy, if it means saving Imantica from a greedy pirate-king and encroaching foreign influence? Will they hand over power to a potential strong-man, if that means the Roca will have a ruler more progressive and competent?

These questions will expand far past the formerly closed borders of Imantica. The full ‘Dawnbreak and Dragons’ campaign will feature more than 10 different nations from the roleplay in various capacities! In addition, players will be able to base their characters around any Dawnbreak nation, creating an opportunity for all community members to see their creations come to life!

Interested in more? All stargazer and starborn residents of Starlight and Horizon are encouraged to consider joining the roleplay!

Basic Mechanics

The ‘Dawnbreak and Dungeons’ event runs through a hybrid calendar system. Once every week, the event will host ‘sessions’ where major plot points will progress between the event organizer and all the players! These ‘sessions’ work like classic Tabletop Roleplaying Sessions, where players will roleplay as their individual character with others in a party within the set world. During each session, the ‘party’ will typically be confronted with a problem and be asked to tackle them together, though whatever solutions they come up with themselves, while the event organizer will progress the story to reflect the actions of each player. Actions and combat will take place via simplified TTRPG-style mechanics as well, rewarding player creativity while adding a degree of suspense from the roll of the dice. In universe, these ‘sessions’ are set in special, pre-marked days on an event calendar!

No VCing will be required in these ‘sessions.’

In-between 'sessions,' participants will also have roaming time. During free-form time, players may share their Dawnbreak nation’s culture and history, ping the event organizer for 1-on-1 sessions, and participate in several competitive mini-games and side-missions within the special event, which will result in in-session rewards.

Event Times

There will be five ‘sessions’ in the event. To widen the net for availability, there are two cohorts that one can join, depending on which time for the sessions is preferable for each individual. Participants may only join one cohort.

Attendance to all of the sessions is not required! Of course, those who would like to attend more may be prioritized in event application processing.

Cohort #1 Playtimes:

Session #1 - August 1st, Saturday, 5:00 PM EST.
Session #2 - August 8th, Saturday, 5:00 PM EST.
Session #3 - August 15th, Saturday, 5:00 PM EST.
