I raise a glass to you Novosibirskiya, may this toast be as cheerful as a finely aged whiskey.

As for the question, I would most certainly say the people. Surrounded by those who had grown up through the depression, and war veterans helped give me a great appreciation for both the world around me, value my fellow man, and cherish nature itself.

I was most fortunate to see what could happen should those seek to bring terror upon others and hear many stories of times that I would not have to thankfully endure.

Kindness was most prevalent as was humor and in truth, there was little to ask for when amongst happier spirits despite rougher times.

Thanks a lot!

Happy WA Wednesday! You all should be getting Telegrams with a Moduland address on them soon.

However, I'd like to first announce that we have a new World Assembly Ambassador in Ridgefield. Congratulations to South Poopistan!

Second, as a reminder - after 10 resolutions have passed the General Assembly post-reboot, you will be required to have adopted 80% of them (so 8 of the first 10). After that, you need to stay 80% compliant or you cannot vote in the World Assembly. Make sure to adopt what you can early, especially these early resolutions that are less controversial and easier to adopt. page=WA_past_resolutions/council=3

Another flag to add to the outskirts of the embassy and a hardy handshake eh South Poopistan? I will have to go about fumigating the office as I had briefly turned it into a sanctuary for new species of insects. Thankfully, many were produced and relocated elsewhere but you may wish to open a window or two.

I have noticed on adopting the newer resolutions that there seems to be a pattern of a minor tax increase. It has me wondering if a nation continues to adopt in the manner to be compliant, would such things drastically affect its tax rates in the long term or will a nation have to compromise with other issues it answers? Just a curiosity of mine.

Happy Friday, Ridgefield! As our Director of Relations said yesterday, please make sure you're adopting at least eight of the first ten resolutions, and then a couple more after that to retain your and our voting power. Literally everything about the WA is crucial to Ridgefield... hell, our mayor is the fifth most important person in the world on WA issues!
On a related note, in case you haven't seen it yet, which is rather likely, I posted my first issue of NWitWA a few minutes ago. Here it is! Have a fantastic weekend, everyone.

Volume IV, Issue I
Final Version
17 July 2026

From the Desk of Second Minister Elizabeth Carat

Greetings, my fellow Ridgefielders! It is my great honor to have been selected by our wonderful mayor, Agnes of Moduland, to be Ridgefield's third World Assembly Ambassador. As ambassador, I will naturally be continuing Next Week in the World Assembly, as Shino, Evil Scary Country, and Kay Pacha did before me... so let's jump right in!

General Assembly

AT VOTE: Eliminating Slavery And Trafficking Of Persons

Quick Facts:
Author: Islandwalk
Co-Author(s): Picairn
Current Worldwide Leaning: 9,982-1,203 FOR
Current Regional Leaning: 12-0 FOR
Secretary Recommendations: 5-0 FOR
Mayor's Recommendation: FOR

Stat Impacts:
Up: Income Equality, Compassion, Niceness
Down: Economic Freedom, Employment, Rudeness

Policies:
Cancel: Slavery, No Emigration

Starting off with a good one! This resolution, authored by Secretary Islandwalk, does something very simple: Prohibits slavery. Of course, in typical WA style, it manages to stretch this goal out into six paragraphs with seven total sections, one of which containing three clauses. Nevertheless, ESaToP is a good piece of foundational legislation in this nigh-anarchic, lawless, post-reset world. The resolution is surprisingly well-written for being the presumptive fourth GA2.0 resolution authored yet, and does not share many of the problems of the first two resolutions or any of the several queued proposals. The definitions are extremely thorough (that's where the clauses come in), and the mandates are both exceedingly simple and universally applicable. I would hope that nobody is surprised that this one will get a strong FOR.

UP NEXT: World Environmental Treaty

Quick Facts:
Author: Bisofeyri World Assembly Mission
Co-Author(s): The Ankhalic Vaspriot
Secretary Recommendations: 1-0 FOR
Mayor's Recommendation: FOR

Stat Impacts:
Up: Tourism, Foreign Aid, Environmental Beauty
Down: Political Apathy, Economic Freedom, Industry: Pizza Delivery

This proposal, with well over double the current quorum requirement, is well slated to be at vote within 48 hours, and within the next week be enshrined GA#5 before being inevitably repealed by some completely random individual in 2042. My thoughts? Meh. I mean, it isn't particularly bad, but it has a couple of glaring issues to me. Let's start with the positives, though: While I find Section 2 to be just okay, Sections 3-4 are very well written and easily express what they're trying to say without being overly obnoxious... and then there's Section 1. Section 1, with eight whole clauses, takes up a solid half of the resolution. Not only is it extremely wordy and dense for mostly being Captain Obvious-tier overelaboration, but it contains some very odd phrasing. 1.iv, 1.vii, and 1.viii's usages of the word "ought" make it seem like this is a very strongly worded suggestion. Like, ought. C'mon. Ought? This isn't the United Nations. The GA actually has power, and correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't making the GA's power enforceable the entire point of GA2.0? Ugh... anyhow, despite Section 1's... interesting phrasing, this is still an obvious, if slightly apprehensive, FOR from me purely because it does what it should, if a bit awkwardly, in that it is a world-spanning treaty protecting the environment. Not much more to it than that.

RADAR: Queued or quorumed resolutions to be featured in future issues
International War Crimes Convention by The Orwell Society
Bodily Autonomy And Informed Consent by French New Wake Island
Reserved Powers by Mar Teret with Miravana and Merethin
Judicial Access Act by Northern Slatavia
World Assembly Research And Innovation Organization by Bisofeyri World Assembly Mission
Protecting Places Of Cultural Significance by New Illyricum with Alainian Federation, Hellslayer, and Hetonika
World Assembly Headquarters by Walkabout with Merethin, Heavens Reach, and Varanius
International Agricultural Biodiversity Safeguard by Safj
Security Council
There's not currently any at vote, queued, or quorumed resolutions in the SC. Awkward!

And thus concludes the inaugural issue of Next Week in the World Assembly Volume IV! Have a wonderful weekend, Ridgefield!

Is a very good start friend and you are correct on the importance of the World Assembly more than ever now with changes. All the more important to have the proper return of "Next Week in the World Assembly", it's good to have another perspective after all yes? Well done my friend.

Enjoy your weekend as well.

It's kind of crazy to me that out of 38 WA nations in Ridgefield, a grand total of four aren't endorsing the mayor, and only seven aren't endorsing Betmet, myself, TesGay, and Iblis. 38 WA nations and we're 5th in endorsements in the entire game. Obviously this is nothing new and we've been mandating WA membership as far back as I could say, but 5th, ahead of regions with hundreds or even thousands of nations, including four of the five Pacifics and every sinker, restorer, and frontier, is an incredible achievement. Up the Ridge!
