RP ~ Response to the Southlanders
As for the airport related railroad, said offer would be turned down as there are already established means of getting from the airport itself to Jazira. As far as other connections go, Jazira is already connected by ferries, so those too would have to be turned down.
As far as the Sodair offer goes, it seems acceptable, and as such the Crown is willing to allow those flights.
As for trade, the tariff maximum rate of 3.25 percent seemed acceptable enough, and thus an agreement of that sort could certainly be made with the crown.
Finally, while the possibility of trade is open, the only warning given is that the potential profits would likely be less than expected due to the already relatively smaller consumer goods market already being competed in by the nation fo Rykensvik in some parts, though it would likely depend on the objects being sold, and the quality when compared to their competition.
RP: Where were you when the Technate fell
Honolulu has boiled over and it has a profound rippling effect expanding across the wider Technate
Effects
- The fledgling Otykenese-Technate market rapidly crashed from mass selling of assets, withdraws and other deadly factors. The system which distributed the Energy Credits was taken offline... For good, leaving millions without social assistance.
- Riots from the market crash and general unrest became commonplace across the country, the country was already in a state of emergency leading to a brutal police and armed forces crack down to quell the sharp uptick in crimes and looting.
- Services across the country have been greatly impacted by the riots and associated destruction the JCA tirelessly works to maintain logistical and industrial base for continuing the war with Brennus indefinitely if need be.
- Trust in the Technocratic regime has been greatly diminished. The Continental Board has been moved to a top secret bunker complex to discuss the fate of the country.
- Around the country Technate flags were being burned and replaced with the Red and White Otyken flag, symbolic of washing their hands of Honolulu.
- Discontinuation of TEC has transformed Otyken to have traditional economic systems used universally.
- Reformation of Otyken government.
The troopers and paramilitaries operating in Sauvaki were given standing orders to complete their mission, and keep going until they are shoved back. National security now depended on the success of this special military operation. Furthermore residual forces are to conduct unrestricted warfare against Honulite Technate to prevent future threats via airstrikes and missile barrages and focus in on the drone strikes on this target to dismantle their network.
The Technate as the world knew it had collapsed, brilliantly, and violently. The future was grim and uncertain. The soldiers overseas held firm to their vision of revival for Otyken from whatever the government so desperately wanted here in Brennus, but no defibrillator could bring Honolulu back. They planned to maintain their offensive in Brennus, but securing the *entire* country was starting to seem like it may be an impossible task with these colossal disruptions. The end of the Technate was officiated on May 17th, 2017 when the Continental Director of the Technate of Tengerina announced the dissolution of the Technate as a sovereign state and subject of international law and the end of the Continental Government.
At the Technate Continental Administration the flag of the Technate was taken down and replaced by the flag of Otyken.
RP: Turn of the Heaven's will
Post-Technate Era (June)
There was talks of Kujin Province seperating into its own entity because Otyken was in such turmoil a political party called Kaiten was responsible for this the group is also the name of a former country that used to exist in the Eastern coast of the North. There was also talks of JCA forces in Quarantine Zone becoming its own state called Diyu, some claimed that Diyu was real and identified with it the region had atleast a million soldiers to its name and mountains of military hardware.
Government
With the Continental Board dissolved Altan Khan was no longer the leader of Otyken after a 30 year reign. The National Board launched an E-Democracy initiative for one of the first exercises of democracy in ages a new candidate was selected a Technocrat from the Kaiten Separatists named Akuji Aoyama, a real mad scientist that had spent much time working in the Quarantine Zone, but his profile and credentials was enough to make the citizenry believe that this genius would have all the answers and resolve the problems of the Technate. Otyken will remain as a Technocracy, but is no longer Orthodox. A constitution based on editting the Technate one was completed and signed into law.

this is obviously a secret
(this was written pre nonadian sillyness, i was just stuck up on writing the other stuff, whoopsies!)
Apart of the LAURENTIDE SPRING Crisis
As the nation descends into madness and unrest, it would seem the southerly island of Tromark seems to lie relatively undefended. With it's highly strategic oversight over the entirety of Laurentiea south of Kalmar, Intel reports showing that the islands garrison included only a few armed civilian groups, a new plan to seize the strategic asset of Tromark from greyshirt control would soon be drafted.
Operation Raschheit would be born as a culmination of planning by the AES, RA and NS.
The main target objective would obviously be Fredericksburg, located on the northeast end of the island and serving as essentially the island's connection to the mainland, capturing or disabling the port in accompany with naval blockades strategically placed would be able to effectively cut off the island without relief, with the greyshirt navy being trapped near Kaligsburg, capturing Fredericksburg would essentially be a guaranteed victory.
Swiftness would of course be the main point of the invasion, in the company of surprise as well as tactical superiority.
Moving naval units into place overtime under the pretense of preventing piracy and threatening of civilian convoys, with the movement of a carrier battle group south of Tromark, the plan would launch into operation starting early spring of 2016, with recon aircraft being launched via Seicht (Carrier not Department) scouting out the island for units and locating specific camps and ports. Come mid spring, as transports would move into station as well as 'strategic units', targeted attacks from sea would begin occuring on rebel encampments and garrisons on the island, of course confined to the coast by the range of the ships involved, rebel encampments near and within Fredericksburg would certainly become disorganized as shelling by several warships would cause sleepless nights and cut supply lines, of course with the blockade newly put on the island, not like any supplies were going to be flown to the relief of the rebels anyways.
Though shelling alone won't push the rebels off Tromark, standing resilient, the second phase of the operation would be carried out, as several specialized units under the wing of the Koriach Unit would land south of Fredericksburg and rapidly arrive at the city's gate. Fighting would not last long with a decisive win pushing out the rebel forces within mere days with rarely any case of house to house fighting, the majority of the city would be preserved with only limited damages caused by the shelling and subsequent assault.
Though now lied the issue of other smaller ports controlled by rebel forces in the region. Initially intending to march west to disband the rest of the rebelling forces, the units would face a surprising amount of resistance leading to the change of plans.
Instead, the units would consolidate control over eastern Tromark, as naval units moved in place to place a blockade over what remains of the rebels on the island, as a lack of supplies will eventually force them to surrender one way or another.
Though with the sudden strengthening of greyshirt forces on the island via utilization of guerilla warfare, new tactics must be developed to counter these tactics effectively.
The AES effort to gather Intel within Laurentiea would begin to expand as well, with the hiring of local agents to grow the amount of intelligence gathered from both behind rebel lines as well as the formal government, this was of course necessary for the Neuerstaat's involvement in the civil war to grow, after all we won't simply let a wildfire burn out of control right outside our front door.

- RP - EYE OF THE STORM
Neuerstaat has certainly faced several rather dire issues in the leadup to 2017, with the world slowly descending into chaos over the course of several years, as well as one of Neuerstaat's closest neighbor descending into a downwards spiral of unrest leading to a civil war, it would be rather underselling the situation to say that tension is high in this election, bound to happen in July.
With Neuerstaat's current involvement in several international conflicts, though most importantly Laurentiea, the outcome of this election is bound to change the course of Neuerstaat potentially forever, with many analysts and experts declaring that this election would absolutely be the most important and crucial turning points for Neuerstaat in this millennium.
With campaigns for the national parties having started nearly a year ago, the estimates have been all over the place, fluctuations in public opinion have been seen across the country. This uncertainty have also certainly been added on by the promised implementation of electronic voting for the general election this year.
Though government officials were quick to quell public concerns, assuring that the election system has been tested countless times to make sure it is impossible to hijack as well as rig. Nevertheless, the media continues to ponder the potential implications of this upcoming election, articles such as '2017 elections bound to crash Neuerstaat' and 'Disaster incoming for the Commonwealth' have seemingly ripped through the nation's social media at a unprecedented rate.
Professionals don't seem to be rather concerned though, confident in Neuerstaat's ability and commitment to retain order and democracy,
The future though is unpredictable, in merely a month's time, a truly arduous test will surely irreparably change the nation.

Apart of the CHURCH OF THE FIVE CARDINALS Story
The flight over to Sauerban was relatively quick and uneventful. As the Kirae 366 (K366 from hereon out) landed in a hastily made helipad at the temporary Riensetch campsite, the crew of 4 would be quickly briefed on the situation and sent to scout out roughly where the distress signal came from.
Already equipped with a spotlight due to it's role as a search and rescue helicopter, the K366 would swiftly take off and begin searching for any signs of the crashed AA-52, arriving nearby within a hour or two after the disappearance, the K366 would hover and fly around the area, sending blinding beacons of light towards the ground searching for anything that appears to be similar to the helicopter.
Though professionals, the thought that the AA-52 simply crashed would not escape the rescuers, as the K366 once again swept the area for the 3rd time, a light reflection on the side of a hill would catch the glimpse of one of the crew.

[Keise Curten/Crew]: (Pointing at the slight glimmer) What's that?
[Eben Lavitea/Radio Operator]: What?
[Keise Curten/Crew]: I'm pointing at it.
[Eben Lavitea/Radio Operator]: Oh yea. Can we get a better look at that? (Gestures at pilot to move towards the reflection)
(Pilot nods, K366 starts changing direction and the spotlight points at the faint reflection)
[Erika Hertica/Co-Pilot]: That.. 'thing' is glowing on the infrared camera.
[Audier Hansi/Pilot]: I think that's the helicopter? There's no smoke coming from the area though.
[Erika Hertica/Co-Pilot]: I think it's moving? it's rotating or something.
[Eben Lavitea/Radio Operator]: I don't think crocodiles live in this part of the commonwealth, right?
[Erika Hertica/Co-Pilot]: Yeah, no sh-
(Suddenly, the 'thing' sends out a rapidly approaching projectile towards the K366, the crew barely have time to react, though the missile completely misses)
[Erika Hertica/Co-Pilot]: Oh crap, the hell was that?!
[Audier Hansi/Pilot]: I think that was a missile, We're getting the hell out of here.
(The K366 strongly veers south, getting the hell out of range of the missile shooting crocodile machine]
[Eben Lavitea/Radio Operator]: (Shouting) Run! This thing costs more than 5 million!
[Keise Curten/Crew]: (Also shouting) That's not what's important right now!
(Another salvo fires from the sad excuse of a rocket launcher, it misses perfectly)
[Erika Hertica/Co-Pilot]: (Also shouting) It's multiple fire?!
(Another salvo is audibly heard fired, though nothing shoots out.)
[Keise Curten/Crew]: Did it run out of salvos?
(A massive explosion comes from the hillside, not really that massive but, not something you see that often)
[Eben Lavitea/Radio Operator]: I'm really hoping we caught that on camera just now
[Keise Curten/Crew]: (Shouting) Huh?
[Audier Hansi/Pilot]: I don't think the NL (Nationale Luftstreitkräfte) operates any anti air batteries here. Certainly not anything that self combusts after two salvos.
[Erika Hertica/Co-Pilot]: Man, I'm just hoping we end up on the news.

RP: The Screams of the Past
Somewhere in rural Arcadia, CSA in March 1982
He stood there in his uniform, ragged and torn from the violence of war with brown dirt staining its original grey. Three gold bars sat haphazardly on his collar as he looked with a similar gaze at those who stood before him. He was surrounded by men wearing uniforms similar to his wearing armbands, insignia, and other modicum of their far-right ideology.
Before him was a large company's worth of men wearing brown and tan uniforms more ragged than his own, but they were not like the uniforms of other enemies; these possessed the insignia and symbols of a distinct unit which he held particular hate for. The brown uniformed men before him sat in the dirt many with their hands tied as they looked with solemn and downtrodden gazes as they seemed to know what fate lay before them. As they sat there, his mind raced to the past; the horrors he had seen, the sounds he had heard, and the utterly barbaric brutality they had displayed against their own kind and his own people.
There were other formations like his throughout the town, standing guard against their host of prisoners who had recently surrendered. Victorious troops marched or rode through the town either on foot, vehicles, or even horses as they trod through, and there were several other formations such as his standing guard over their vanquished foes.
He was talking with a superior who wore a uniform similar to his but with two golden stars placed on his collar and they were discussing what should be done with the prisoners. Soon, a troop of horses rode upon them with their riders wearing uniforms only slightly better than their own. The foremost among them wore a finer uniform but it was still rough and rugged with dirt marking the insignia on the rider's lapel featuring three gold stars surrounded by a golden laurel wreath.
He and the man he was talking with saluted the rider as he rode near him "Sir, Captain Halloway and Lieutenant Colonel Cenner of the 9th Brigade. We've caught these Red Guard bastards when we took the town. They surrendered pretty quickly and we've been holding all of them here" he reported as the rider returned the salute and scowled at the prisoners before speaking in a hateful tone as he pointed to a large nearby building that looked to be a church but had its steeple and cross removed saying "Round all of them up and load them into that building over there."
The Red Guards were crammed into the church remains with many forced to stand due to there not being enough room on the ground. The rider rode forth and many of his entourage placed some crates before the men. "When the Reds took this town, the Red Guards desecrated that church and defiled what remained of its holy presence. Let it serve as their grave." He spoke with a determined grit and clear hatred of his own towards them. The young captain stepped forward, "General Krieg, sir, is it right for us to do this? Would we not be better than them for it?" The General sneered at the young captain, "We have little arms and fewer supplies, and thus we have no capacity for prisoners. Had these been normal Reds I'd go for it but these are Red Guards... they will have a taste of their own medicine today."
He raised his hand and motioned, and within an instant, many of his men began grabbing Molotov cocktails and hurling them at the remnants of the church. The screams of the men inside were growing as they were either consumed by flame or choked on the smoke. Upon hearing their screams, the Captain was reminded of what they had done to his family, so took a Molotov and threw it as well. Whenever a Red Guard would crawl out of the inferno they were either gunned down by men such as Captain Halloway or were beaten or scalped mercilessly by one of the many Soldiers who waited for them. The screams were becoming louder and intense and soon they consumed his mind as he could smell the cooking of their flesh from here. He looked down at his hands and saw that they were stained with blood.
The Modern Day, somewhere in rural Comber, CSA
Jim Halloway awoke with a jolt, he was drenched in sweat as he looked down at his hands expecting to see blood, but only being greeted by the aged and calloused hands of a working man. His wife had woken with him and comforted him, but her reassurances would do little to deafen the screams that echoed in his head. The burning of the former church was not the worst he had done or even seen, but it was the most pervasive in haunting his mind as the screams echoed like thunder in his head. As the day went forward he was finally alone in the house as the rest of his family had left. He walked slowly to his closet where he opened it and pulled out a small case hidden away in the back. He opened the case and gazed down at his old NRA uniform. It was cleaner now than it had been in the days of the war, but despite this, as he stared at it he couldn't help but see it as stained with blood.

Otyken invasion of Brennus
Important Timeline
July 2016 - Declaration of War & Carrier Battle in the Eastern Sea, including subsequent missile battles and engagements at sea as the invasion fleet moves into position.
August 2016 - Otyken advances and makes a landing after a large-scale sea engagement on the western sea of Brennus and secures a beachhead.
This Post: Late August, September, October, and November 2016
Otykenese Invasion Assets
Total Troops: 34,050
Total Vehicles: 1,790
Total Aircraft: 304
*Numbers increase at the end of September to Field Army+ level
----------------------------------
Operational Directive
Otyken's beach head on the west coast of Brennus was firmly in-place, the massive invasion fleet had mostly dispersed to be less vulnerable and the battle expanded across larger sections of the coast and open ocean, an 'alley way' created for more supply ships to move in was asserted by Carrier Groups and submarines, but a singular division would not be enough to secure a country as large and immensely powerful as Brennus, so the marines had a mission to gather airports, neutralize resistance, and capture objectives to create a safe zone for aircraft to land and provide continuous reinforcements and supplies at a swifter pace than what can be done by sea, as they needed to move halfway across the planet, a continuous stream of ships would be happening for supplies however it was far more efficient to send troops in by plane.
No angle of attack was to look easy, but they had years of planning for this and planned to slice across the central region of Brennus and cut the country in half, this would give them far more coastal control and allow Otyken to lean on their larger navy more heavily, if this could be accomplished Brennus would eventually capitulate provided they could hold a large line with artillery, armor and continuous sorties, the Aircraft carriers as of right now were conducting a thousand sorties daily to soften up the enemy, there was fierce fighting during the landing, but even that would seem uncontested once they moved in further.
Major Operations
Battle for Sault (Late August - Late September 2016)
Sault was Otyken's first major objective. Brennus had almost immediately scuttled the International Airport there for obvious reasons, and virtually everybody had been evacuated because it was close to the coast. The operation began at night with missile strikes targeting military installations, economic assets and communications, anything transportation related was off limits. Otyken would advance with support from Helicopters, Armor, Aircraft and the Navy; they were at full momentum and met with Brennian defenders that were well entrenched as they had plenty of time to prepare; their directive was to hold the line until it broke and flexibly fall back. Aircraft would roar overhead to drop bombs on enemy vehicles and positions; the Brennians had plenty of aircraft to respond. The Otykenese armoured advance was met with landmines, artillery, mortars, enemy armour, ATGMs and more. The city, once quiet from being evacuated, became the site of two state actors at full capacity clashing, a constant crackle of gunfire and distant explosions, with dozens of aircraft involved, hundreds of vehicles, and thousands of soldiers. As the armour and Infantry advanced, they were attacked by air support as both parties vied for air superiority. The Brennians had pre-planned retreat routes and held their positions utilizing their home advantage to burn out Otyken, but the presence of the Navy allowed the Otyken defenders to shell entrenched positions; days would turn to weeks of intense urban fighting, buildings collapsed, and burned, some areas would become stalled for long periods of time causing significant casualties. After a month, the city was seized by Otyken, but the battle did not end there as they had to fan out to outlying towns and nearby areas to assert control fully, this city was a ghost town, but they expected the others to have people in them still and would need to be far more careful. Ultimately, the result was a Pyrric Otyken victory; they expected more of these.
Notable Battles: Sault International Airport
The international airport was craterized already, but Otyken planned to repair it as this was to be a long operation; the area had plenty of Brennian Artillery and Tanks the terminal building was used as a command base which was unknown to Otyken at the time who, had only sent a medium-sized force after some preliminary reconnaissance, only to find what they described as an entire Brigade dug in at the airport, the craterized runway soon became littered with armoured vehicles, shells, and bodies as they fought on the flats, the Brennians only fell back after the arrival of Otykenese MLRS levelled what was left of the Terminal leaving the new owners of the airport with a huge burning mess and pothole-filled runway as the Brennian survivors made a break in APCs being covered by aircraft that left a JDAM salvo as a parting gift.
*Otyken began repairing what they could with their engineering Brigade, and the airport soon received deliveries of troops and SAM equipment.
Offensive at Bruz (Early September - Early October 2016) ( Written by Brennus
The Bruz Offensive had actually begun as soon as the Battle for Sault began, but had never progressed far beyond light firefights and the occasional probing barrage. Brennian army elements were responsible for holding the city and had done a fantastic job of turning the urban landscape into a fortress in and of itself. While initially the hope was for Sault and Bruz to be attacked in tandem, allowing for a surprise counterattack and possible tactical encirclement to destroy a small portion of Otykenese forces, the Oscars had been smart enough to not take the bait set by the Brennians. So Bruz was left to its own devices, forced to leave Sault to its well known and inevitable fate as to not jeopardize their flexible defensive strategy. Besides, being so close to enemy naval assets would make any kind of major offensive action simply impossible. Soldiers occupied their time watching the skies as the aerial battle unfolded, by now the BAF had their sh** well and truly together and was putting up a stubborn fight for the air, and the Otykenese would have to grapple with the prospect of simply never achieving air supremacy or even superiority. Whether that was expected or not was irrelevant, it was a saving grace for the infantry on the ground and freed them up from having to fight like rats.
Bruz was in a fantastic position to act as a delaying point in the now colloquially named “Phony Line”. Its outskirts were peppered with hedges, making for excellent concealment for reconnaissance and harassment assets, several light infantry teams having scored a number of kills on OtyCom vehicles using the latest and greatest in top attack munitions, videos that were circulating rapidly around the internet. Inside the city, or the gutted remains of it due to an ongoing and vicious artillery duel, had been shifted, rearranged and constructed to be one giant killzone. It was made to funnel Otykenese forces only where the Brennians wanted them to be, and without engineers, the Oscars would have no choice but to comply. Even getting into the city wouldn’t be so easy in the first place. It was flanked on both the north and the south by rivers, on which both had their bridges blown. Although the southern river had a staging area in the form of a town called Tréglonou, its crossing was entirely exposed, not helped by the treeline that often housed scratch teams of Brennian scouts touting snipers and AT weapons, who took a hobby of routinely harassing them. In the north it was a different story, there was a small, sandy patched completely covered by forest and urban development that made an excellently concealed and protected landing point, only really able to be fired upon indirectly, which while not ineffective would put Brennian mortars at significant risk of counter-battery.
It gave the city time, but that time was shortened by the breakthrough at Sault. Thankfully, whoever was corralling the Oscars in this sector must have gotten jealous, because true hostilities began just a few days after Sault fell in late September, totally and utterly spoiling any chance for a breakthrough as the Sault force was stopped up against a fresh force of Partisans and marauding light infantry, making any attempt to tighten the noose met with a very sharp knife. It gave Bruz time and the battle would rage for the next two months or so. It was brutal, more brutal than expected and would most likely cement itself as the most bloody fighting of the opening stages of the war. The south was routinely stalled during the battle, their crossings accruing more casualties than was probably acceptable and only stopped doing that when Brennian mortars were silenced and a pinkie hold in the towns outskirts began to occupy the defenders focus instead. The southern outskirts featured a number of small village-suburbs with several hundred meters of open ground, which made even more hell for the Otykenese attackers, requiring a generous helping of indirect fire to effectively assault. Tanks and other vehicles littered the open ground which made it easier for infantry to approach, and eventually the battle for the southern city proper had begun.
Meanwhile, the northern front had been broken through easier and was quickly making a grim situation for the Brennians. The OtyCom advance had progressed much faster than expected thanks to their protected crossing area at the river and was quickly threatening to cut off exits from Bruz as a whole. This advance was only stopped at a soccer field that had been turned into an open ground killing field, and Otykenese forces waltzed right into the almost-complete double L ambush. This held open a vital route of escape as fighting progressed steadily inward and converged from the western end of the city, the Brennians fighting tooth and nail to make the Otykenese bleed as much as possible for this one coastal urban wasteland. In the end the original force of 8,000 determined Brennian defenders had been reduced to about 6,500, 500 dead and 1,000 more wounded. The Otykenese side suffered double those numbers, with 3,000 killed or wounded in the fighting. This single battle had killed about the same or more Brennians than the entire opening Partisan actions of the invasion, a trend which would be sure to only get worse as the war went on, the Brennians eventually abandoning the city, seeking cover and concealment behind a small forest of trees before escaping along the much more wooded edges of the river ĽAber Vrac’h.
Notable Battles: Le Moen Supercenter
A massive shopping complex, at least for the small town, was host to a visceral urban engagement involving a battalion of Brennian infantry coating the walls of the complex in Oscar viscera, as it was an incredibly important holding action to allow a number of reserves to commit to the north where a small force of Otykenese troops were attempting to cut off the ongoing ambush at the soccer fields. Hallway to hallway and room to room fighting tore the building apart, and a number of famous photos and popular helmet cam footage would be sourced from it. It only ended when Otykenese naval support leveled half the complex, forcing those still alive after the blast to promptly engage in a fighting retreat that would not end until the eventual escape out from the eastern city fringes.
Blain Offensive (Early October 2016 - Late March 2017) (Written by: Brennus)
Blain was an Otykenese target that was supposed to have been taken almost immediately after Bruz had fallen, with the force at Sault having been scheduled to roll up the defenders of the latter city in preparation for a lightning campaign inland to catch the other city off guard. Instead, Bruz had become a hellhole and the Sault force was caught up against vicious light infantry and partisan attackers, who did not let any sort of movement go unpunished as they followed behind the main force of the fighting retreat to give them proper amounts of time to prepare. ĽAber Vrac’h proved quite useful to Otykense attackers as the road hadn’t had time to be mined as the retreat from Bruz played out and would become a major route of supply going into the Blain Offensive. Although it was not known to Otykenese defenders, the gathering assortment of defenders at this particular city would prove to be far higher than anticipated. The operation itself began at the same time as the Battle of Redon, or the Redon Crossing and would prove to end far later, proving to be the lynchpin that held the entire defensive front together after an utter failure to hold properly at Redon.
The battle itself did not begin in the city of Blain itself, but instead along the banks of ĽAber Vrac’h around 3.6 miles away from the city proper, just after the engagement at Bruz. These preliminary engagements involved mostly blocking elements of the depleted, 6,500 man force of defenders fleeing from Bruz, making best speed back to Blain in order to reinforce the garrison of 5,000 already present, who would be joined by the 1,000 strong, newly formed Foreign Volunteer Legion (FVL) making for a total of 12,500 defenders. However this high concentration of troops was only allowed to occur out of necessity, as the battle at Redon prohibited the Bruz contingent from falling back any further, especially as the city fell. Now facing a battle from both the north and the west, the defenders would be forced to make a stand for however long it took to contain the Redon breakthrough and hold open a corridor of escape, which would still involve giving up an uncomfortable chunk of land. Still, by this point civilian populations were beginning to become significant, and people were advised to leave flying specially marked non-combatant flags on their vehicles, or board public transport bearing the same logos. This was both to preserve life, and cause issues for the invaders as they would be forced to stop and look to avoid civilian casualties along with slowing their advance to not get any innocents mixed up in the fighting. This would provide a real opportunity to contain the breakthrough, one the Republic couldn’t afford to not take.
Those who elected to stay were advised to shelter in place and wait out the fighting until their brave soldiers had left, vowing that they would return vengeful to liberate them, as well as giving out instructions on how to make life as miserable as possible for the Otykenese without directly incurring violent responses, though the Republic wouldn’t mind a few officers shot or firebombed here and there, but would not officially condone any actions, as to preserve their civilians safety. Meanwhile, 3.6 miles to the west and 3.22 miles to the southwest, the fighting had begun. There were no named towns between Bruz and Blain and most of the initial fighting was relegated to fast and hard attacks from village-suburbs and treelines. In many cases Brennian defenders mined gaps between forests that looked to be ample shortcuts or flanking routes, carried out lightning fast light cavalry attacks using light utility vehicles and more ATGMs than they were safely rated to carry, and engaged in sporadic fighting while the main city defenders dug in. Every village they passed through an Otykense truck would just happen to run over a conveniently placed nail or pile of nails, have a lumber truck “accidentally” lose hold of their cargo on the road, violate some obscure and often completely faked but admittedly creative local coastal tradition or otherwise find an inconvenience to occupy them. It was very obviously some kind of tactic, but one that the Technate was ill advised to really act out against. Of course Brennus was hoping they did, any excuse to start yet another armed Partisan unit was a good one, and the videos and images that would come out of it would surely catch like wildfire.
Despite these tactics the OtyComs inched ever closer to Blain, only stopped in the southwest at the town of Plouvien by a force of Marines leftover from the initial landings, around 2,000 of them. They had been dislocates by the Redon Breakthrough and were holding the position as part of the Republics hasty containment strategy that only sort of worked in its objective to split the Redon force and make them fight to secure their flanks before even attempting to move farther into the nation while a much larger force moved the block. Even with this it would likely not be enough, and would be the end of the second stage of the war. A tad earlier than expected and hoped but still far enough inland to where the Republic could start to prepare a mass counterattack. With their southwest now secure and Otyken steaming along in the west, the true battle for Blain had begun. Over 12,000 Brennian defenders would clash with a little over that number in Otykenese forces, in an urban battle that would become the largest of the second stage of the war. Most of the opening shots consisted of a series of long range gunfights throughout a treeline about a mile to the northwest of Blain. It was the first true tank battle of the war, and the AMX80s first taste of real tank on tank combat, to where it performed admirably. Though the armored unit was forced to pull back early, the Republic would need every piece of heavy armor it could get for the eventual counteroffensive.
This treeline battle resulted in marked hesitation by the Otykenese, as the space between it and the city was more or less completely open, and would force the Technate to form a new avenue of approach once again along the ĽAber Vrac’h. Using this protected avenue of approach they were able to make progress far quicker than during the Siege of Bruz, and fighting along the southern edges of the city flared violently. This would be the only major front of the siege, as the Brennians continued to have a lock on the north until the very ending stages of the battle, when they were finally given the order to retreat as the Breakthrough at Redon had been acceptably contained for the time being. Before that, it was yet another significant and bloody urban brawl that played out across a number of open patches in the town that contained similar ambushes to those at Bruz. These positions were arduous to clear and maliciously designed to end as much human life as possible. These would only get worse as the Brennians were pushed to the very edges of the city, where they had hedges and treelines to work out of. Every engagement was a notable one and the death toll racked up quickly, with 2,000 of the 12,500 defenders wounded, and 1,200 dead. A toll that was far higher than acceptable, all because of the combat power that could be brought to train on the Brennians as a result of Redon. On the opposite side things were also less than stellar, a full 4,500 Otykense dead or wounded which was about 1,300 more than suffered by their Republican enemies. Though one thing was notable, the Brennians were starting to limp and the victory at Redon had restored some morale. The Republic could not afford to give up anymore land so easily, and any retreats from the third stage onward would not be intentional, they would be putting the entire military behind them now, no more delaying what seemed like the inevitable.
Fortunately they enjoyed success in the air, the BAF cementing its title as a motley collection of pilots that was to be feared, Otyken had failed to play the game of catchup in that regard, and it was really starting to show by this point even with superior experience, a gap that had now mostly been closed. If the Otykenese wanted to win this, they would have to put pressure on other areas of the country and make moves to paralyze the industrial heart, their replacement of supplies, equipment and other products was beginning to make the war untenable, continued reinforcement could not be allowed to continue. Feinting an attack to the north may also be worth it, the open country could be seen as an attempt to destroy the breadbasket and thus the mass amounts of food held within, and would surely draw forces away from other areas of battle, though if the Technate committed too much there and lost, it could spell disaster and a possible attack on their flanks. Between Redon and Blain civilian casualties were starting to rack up. In Redon, 1,500 were injured and 500 were dead. A toll, but a less steep one in comparison to blain which saw an irresponsibly executed artillery and air duel, resulting in 2,500 injured and 1,350 dead. It wasn’t going to win any hearts and minds, and was simply a gesture of the things to come.
Redon Crossing (Early October - Late November 2016)
The city of Redon was on the other side of a rather large and beautiful river; Otyken had advanced to it in their quest to cut the nation in half, nearby they were seizing control of Highway routes and smaller towns and residential areas, they had moved far enough that a significant civilian population was encountered, the soldiers of the JCA had specific orders to treat the citizens with respect and dignity, this operation was too damn big and too damn important to start a larger controversy, and their was still the very real prospect that this could fail, should that happen they wanted the same courtesy back. This included offering some medical care and supplies in areas that were under occupation and if it was far enough from the frontline they would make some repairs to get power and water running and put the Otyken banner on buildings. The operation primarily included Infantry, Armor, and Close-Air as they weren't very close to the Supercarriers any longer Otyken did have plenty of Rocket Artillery and Artillery they loaded up precision munitions as they couldn't cause an incident here at Redon and scouted out the bridges, they didn't appear to be rigged and haven't been scuttled yet hesitantly the JCA prepared for their crossing calling in Engineered just encase and set up radar and SAM sites on their side of the river, this was followed by exchanging artillery fire with Brennus as Otyken dug in and prepared for the major operation as logistical chains where becoming longer and less on demand they couldn't storm in without proper preparation.
The assault began after two weeks in mid October on a chilly morning columns of armored vehicles would start advancing across the bridge with aircraft surging ahead, their heart sunk when stealth craft from Brennus appeared on radar, but it was far to late a Otyken plane was knocked from the sky and crashed into a building by AAM, the Brennian Stealth fighters opening their bays to release heavy bombs on to the assortment of bridges, blowing them in a swift action the bridges already suffering from the weight of tanks and armored vehicles collapsed into the river taking many people down with it, the SAMs would fire at the jets which were leaving the zone, but successfully they escaped. The Brennian's would take that as the sign to attack deploying rocket artillery, artillery, and mortars they weren't as easy to capitulate because this city was not fully evacuated, Otyken had to bridge under heavy fire and take out the artillery with an amphibious assault before they finally had their bridges up and armored support, but by then they had far exceeded their acceptable casualties range and the situation became Urban warfare with Otyken tanks rolling down the streets and crushing cars and infantry waving people inside to engage against the Brennian Armed Forces as the aircraft battled overhead for control of the airspace, which Brennus held for the entire duration of the battle and conducted near uncontested airstrikes until probably surface to Air missile equipment arrived that was actually capable of knocking Brennuses newer planes out of the sky. The soldiers here didn't seem to want to fall back because of the civilian presence and would make the attackers pay in blood for every street and block secured the defenders fighting to the last man and commiting their assets to holding the cities, the civilian toll was higher and the battle was quite long before a surrender was finally initiated by the Brennian forces because of encirclement, the POWs demeanor rather supercilious knowing full well the amount of carnage they've inflicted on the enemy for the city they held dearly. Following the directive of maintaining respect for their adversary the POWs were moved to the back lines at a detention center made from a highschool. The occupation of Redon marked a turning point for the attackers as they had a suitable foothold to cut the country in half, but the soldiers were growing weary even with fresh recruits being flown in daily many of them had to be commited to holding their current gains and the Brennian's proved to be extremely uncooperative.
Notable Battles: Rivive Hotel
Rivive was a 5-star hotel with its own Helipads for air-taxi services a colossal building overlooking the river, Otyken wanted to seize the hotel to use the large parking lot, parcade, and helipad, to find Brennus was using it for this purpose and had the area blockaded off with razor wire, machine gun positions, mortars and snipers, the Otykenese forces decided to proceed with this planning to seize the large stash of stuff they had commissioned here to protect the city. The battle opened with Otyken forces firing airburst guns, and mortars at the site and advancing with armored vehicles spurring a larger exchange of mortars and sniper/machine gun fire, the armored vehicles destroyed by wire guided ATGM fired from positions in the hotel, Otyken maintained the advance peppering the building with gunfire, airbursts, and setting up their own snipers in other buildings. Eventually they made their way into the lobby and a close quarters gunfight had happened, the elevators were blown and the stairs were littered with claymores as the Otyken soldiers engineers cleared out the obstructions under heavy fire and led to intense infantry battles on various floors, pool decks, and more as they worked to secure the very large building, Brennus had set up many traps, nests, and more. The luxury hotel became a house of horrors as it burned, was shot to hell, and exploded numerous times, right as Otyken was nearing the top helicopters under heavy fire would deliver Brennian special forces who roped down to the roof and started clearing the advancing Otykenese forces out of the building, eventually the Otyken forces fled the building and it remained under control of Brennus, it later became an evac site when the city fell as the Otykenese forces were shoved back decisively from that area after failing to capture the Hotel.
Towns
Erquy - This town with sprawling open fields and farmlands became the location of a Tank battle that seen ~10 tanks on each side go head to head,
Hillion - Brennian forces entrenched here to protect a highway utilizing some parking lots as Artillery platforms they provided heavy shelling, the town was assaulted by a Mechanized Infantry platoon and the guns had to be scuttled this was not before heavy shelling left charred corpses of Armored vehicles on the highway to clean up
Lanmeur - A town hardly on any map called ‘Lamer’ by the population was the site of a sniper battle when Otyken recon teams where moving up the forests and fields became a deadly game of sniping which moved into the small town, the true victor is unknown, but a Brennian sniper managed to explode 12 soldiers heads that day and likely still roams the battlefield.
Santec - The town of Santec was nearly wiped off the map with newly arrived Otykenese bombers started raining down their payloads to remove Brennian entrenchments, the Brennian Airforce repelled them and a nearby field was decorated with some bomber corpses and a Brennian aircraft.
Kernilis - This town was assaulted by Otykenese tanks and Brennian positions rained ATGM on them from low rise apartment buildings, it became an infamous propaganda tool as the tanks were shooting at the buildings in retaliation with HE shells to collapse them
Plouguin - One of the heaviest infantry battles with a shocking number of troops on both sides clashing in a large town with hardly any combined arms support due to a nearby battle cutting off routes for both teams it lasted for weeks.
Lanildut - Otyken often on the back heel against Brennus seen a decisive win with an ace pilot caught on camera clearing enemy aircraft and dropping a precision bomb strike allowing infantry to surge in and captured the Brennian position with hardly a shot fired on the ground.
Trébabu - A highly populated low income town which became the site of fierce fighting over apartment blocks,
Important Routes
Brennian Control
- A84 (Leads into North Brennus
Oryken forces weren't planning to head north, but conducted some recon with drones and light armored recon vehicles all of which ended up destroyed and spotted a large number of enemy armor and vehicles on the highway including assets being funneled down to the front lines.
Contested
- A81 (Leads into Middle/Central Brennus)
Otyken planned to cut the country in half an highway A81 a major route through the central region would be good a border as any, in November Oryken had enough hardware and personnel to begin their claim of the high way, removing cars, mines, and obstructions and sending down armored vehicles they soon encountered enemy armor, artillery, mortars, ATGM and Aircraft, the fighting spread out to various towns along the way and the slog to split the nation in half has begun.
Seized
- A11 (Lead into South Brennus, not along coast)
The A11 was a hard fought battle with Otyken committing an entire division to its task as it was a core highway that spread out to many different areas and they had to fight through dozens of towns, open countryside and more before shoving the Brennian fighters back.
- A83 (Leads into southern Brennus, along coast)
A83 a highway that became essential to Otykenese logistics was rather easy to secure it was within the Aircraft carriers operational range and Brennus had very little hardware here to contest and it was under Otykenese control after a few short weeks and allowed them better access to other parts of the south, though their control didn't remain uncontested by October the Brennian forces began some harassment and caused destruction on various supply vehicles, the Otykenese would need to capture nearby cities, towns, and other features to utilize the highway unhindered.
Cities Otyken will advance toward

As the world teeters on the brink, and tensions rise, the authority in Baltocarpathia has sought to renew existing, and establish new agreements and treaties with Allies both officially and off the books. This includes all things from economic interaction, corporate holdings, resource trade, and even military power projection and mutual defense. Through underground channels and through formal ones, Baltocarpathia seeks to deepen ties between us all and to build up existing friendships between our lands as threats to democracy continue to grow all around us. May the flame of liberty and justice not go out on our watch. Long live Baltocarpathia! God save the Republic!
Edit: (to save time we can discuss things over dms)
RP: The Empire Responds
The Empire agrees to discuss furthering relations with Baltocarpathia.
RP: Honaluliyehvtisi'i Things
With the recent conflict spreading in Honalulu, the Sodorhvtisi'i government would move to involve themselves in the region in order to establish positive ties with several of the regional governments, in order to hopefully broker a truce. As such, the following groups would be connected with.
The Burwainese government would have a Sodorhvtisi'i extension of friendship raised, with support for Burwai to become independent or at least autonomous if cooperation can be established. The following proposals would be provided to the government via a hastily deployed representative, with negotiation possible if good reason is given.
- An immediate operational agreement over Burwai airprot (At least one runway), until establishment of a full operating facility either on the island or on the adjacent coastline.
- The willingness of Sodor to provide between 3 and 8 billion Rysksmarks ($4.8-12.8 Billion) in foreign aid, for the continued operation of the Burwainese government, including RyM 1.575-4.2 billion for the continued operation of the government, and a further possibility of loans up to RyM 19 billion.
- Interest in export of security systems including but not limited to
- Anti-Ship missile BATtery Pelican: RyM 60 million per unit
- Surface to Air Missile BATtery Tigercat: RyM 10 million per unit
- Various Armoured Fighting Vehicles, aircraft and warships
- The interest of the Sodorhvtisi'i government in establishing a joint military facility (Joint as in Sodorhvtisi'i navy, army and air force) on the southern coast, to ensure security and cooperation with Burwai
- The interest of Sodor in providing loans to expand the port of Burwai, including a fuel refinery and new cargo storage areas, to provide a new shipment hub in the region.
Similarly, with the Federation deemed a viable partner in the short to medium term, the Sodorhvtisi'i government would authorize a similar offer to their faction, with RyM 4-9 billion Rysksmarks, loans up to RyM 21 billion, large arms exports and anything else the group would like on offer, in order to ensure a lack of conflict against the success of the federal government, with interest from several foreign (Sodorhvtisi'i) companies voiced with regards to purchasing land for various purposes.
In the meantime, the 2nd Socialist Federal Republic of Honalulu, the 2nd Federal Republic of Honalulu, the Federation and Burwai would be invited to the airbase in nearby Africa, in order to ideally secure proper cooperation, and subsequently hopes for a coalition government until such time as a sustainable united front and democracy can be formed in Honalulu.
RP: Amberlehitvisi'i Things
The invitation to accept further PB articles would be promptly and politely refused, seen both as an unnecessary at and as one which would provide little benefit. Instead, a separate 'migration' agreement would be proposed along the lines of those available to Anheldac, Schwypian, Estonian, Dzeoi and Midribbonian citizens, with Amberlehtvisi'i citizens able to apply for an Electronic System Transit Authorization (ESTA), as opposed to applying for a TTESTA (Two Tier Electronic System Travel Authorization), which requires greater depth.
The ESTA, valid for two years from acceptance or 180 days in Sodor (Whichever is shorter), allows for tourist access to the Republic with the exception of closed cities and areas otherwise under non-ESTA jurisdiction (ie military bases), and is an effective alternative to long term migration agreements. Similarly, work permits, valid for 5, 10 or 20 years (depending on level applied for) would be on offer to Amberlehetvisi'i citizens, including 2 hours of legally mandated language lessons (Until state exams can be passed).
RP: African Dealings
With the Africans holding their desire for investment from both state and corporate entities out, several groups from within Sodor would express their own interests in investing in the country, most importantly.
- BNS (Bank Nazzjonali ta' Sodor), Bank Magħqud (United Bank), et al would extend their willingness to provide loans to the African government to better invest into the economy, thus supporting a more investable environment for various companies.
- Sodor Turiżmu Internazzjonali (Sodor Tourism International) would express her own interest in leasing out territory in the islands for establishment of new resorts and tourist facilities, including a move to buy a majority of shares in FOA City international airport, among other things.
- Grupp ta' Veduta tal-Baħar (Ocean View Group) would move in, with the offer to construct a new port for FOA city (At reasonable loan interest of 6.3% YoY compounding on a 20 year term), at a much larger scale than the current port (8 million containers a year, with a RyM 11 billion initial cost to be paid by loans from Sodor National Bank) (Disregard that it may be over the top and not make back revenue), with the proposed port and an area near it as collateral for the loan.
