The Federation of Ellix is a colossal, safe nation, ruled by Queen Alexis of Ellix with an even hand, and renowned for its national health service, restrictive gun laws, and devotion to social welfare. The compassionate population of 3.496 billion Ellixians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The medium-sized government juggles the competing demands of Education, Administration, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Atraxia. The average income tax rate is 26.6%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The all-consuming Ellixian economy, worth 355 trillion Dacas a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Beef-Based Agriculture, Furniture Restoration, and Trout Farming. State-owned companies are common. Average income is an impressive 101,679 Dacas, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.2 times as much as the poorest.

Governors and mayors are back to begging for allowances from the nanny state, employers are keenest on employees who lack family values, people seem disproportionately distraught when told a museum has a phones-off policy, and celebrity chefs are thought to be the progenitors of all food. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown. Ellix's national animal is the Sugar Glider, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is Secular.

Ellix is ranked 115,866^th in the world and 242^nd in Starlight for Highest Drug Use, scoring 145.77 on the Pineapple Fondness Rating.
