O God, eternal Shepherd, who has always watched over your Church, we humbly ask for your blessings upon our newly elected Pope. May he be a faithful shepherd, guiding your flock with wisdom, courage, and a compassionate heart. Grant him the strength to carry the weight of his office, and the grace to make decisions that will lead to greater unity and peace within the Church and throughout the world. Inspire him to be a true servant of Christ, a beacon of hope, and a unifying presence in a divided world. We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.

Letter to the Pontiff, Erasticanius
October 23, 2025

Almost 1000 years before our contemporary time, a dark time befell Mother Church. Yet, it was not the severe persecution that it experienced centuries. Rather, the Pope of Rome and the Patriarch of Constantinople split the church over the Filioque clause, in which Mother Church was sadly split in half.

Centuries later, far after the fall of Constantinople, the rise of great cities like Moscow, and the schism itself, some within seeked to reunite with the Bishop of Rome, while retaining their traditional rite, the Byzantine Rite, made in the grand old cathedral of the Holy Wisdom. And so they formed a 'Uniate'.

For many centuries, we have been Latinized to fit in within the realm of the (Virtual) Roman Catholic Church, but here we plead to keep our roots while still recognizing our pontiff, Erasticanius, as our pope and the Catholic Church as the one, holy, catholic and apostolic church as stated in the Nicene Creed. We would like to request a 'sui iuris' church for the Byzantine Rite.
