The Principality of Calicaro is a large, socially progressive nation, renowned for its absence of drug laws and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate, democratic population of 144 million Calicaris enjoy extensive civil rights and enjoy a level of social equality free from the usual accompanying government corruption.

The medium-sized, liberal government juggles the competing demands of Welfare, Administration, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 23.9%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but underdeveloped Calicarian economy, worth 5.19 trillion Sterns a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Basket Weaving, Woodchip Exports, and Uranium Mining. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 36,024 Sterns, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.1 times as much as the poorest.

The World Principality Games have been won again by Calicaro as no other country cares enough to compete, robosexual marriages are increasingly common, Brancaland has gifted over nine thousand putrid moose carcasses to Calicaro as a reminder of their "special relationship", and sex changes are routinely performed at Calicaro's hospitals. Crime is totally unknown. Calicaro's national animal is the Cat, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Calicaro is ranked 283,776^th in the world and 312^th in Aesica for Most Advanced Law Enforcement, scoring 430.52 on the Orwell Orderliness Index.
