I'm a couple days late for my (near annual) anniversary of the union/my birthday (well that one is actually annual) on October 20th message so apologies.
But when I joined nationstates many years ago now the ULN was the second region I ended up joining but the first which I felt truly welcomed in. I met some of the best people there was to meet on this website and had some of the best times I've had on the internet period, which is fascinating to think about given this website is, by itself, nothing more than a forum game. It was this region and all the people who were in it who made it truly special. I myself am currently applying to lawschool, and I know it probably sounds sappy to say but I don't think I would've ended up choosing to go with law if it wasnt for my experiences here. So, once again in memory of the good times

You’re not the only one who is late with their Union anniversary/birthday message, so there’s that! :D
I too have very fond memories of the ULN. I can’t really tell anymore how many years ago it has been, but the ULN was the first region that I founded in NationStates. At that point, I had no experience whatsoever leading a region.
I hadn’t imagined in my wildest dreams what we’ve been through together and what we have achieved as a Union. All the people I’ve met here and all the friends I’ve made here. Even though I’ve had my setbacks in real life (they weren’t that bad honestly, but we’ve all had those moments), I always knew that I could come here and have the best times together.
I was so proud when you decided to continue the ULN, even when I was not around temporarily. That really meant a lot, and it showed that we were more than just another region in the infinite internet space of NationStates. We were, and still are, friends.
Honestly Space, what you’ve said doesn’t sound sappy at all. I’m so glad that we’ve inspired you to go to law school. Funny thing is, I’m a law student aswell, currently as a master’s student in criminal law. I’m almost inclined to call you a colleague now, but that wouldn’t do justice to the fact that this entire journey wouldn’t have happened without you, or Adryvia, or Malumynumen, or anybody else who has contributed one way or another to the Union.
You all are the best internet friends I’ve ever met. Even when I’m not around here on NationStates anymore, I will never forget you, and I will never forget all the things we’ve done and achieved together.
So therefore, in memory of the good times…
