GENERAL OUTLINE
The Bethsaidan Motorsport Cup will be a series of automobile racing events held on tracks in participating nations across Bethsaida. Any citizen nation is free to submit a track and/or a team for the Cup. As New Crywyzyxycynyan officials will be taking the responsibility of officiating and recording race results, New Crywyzyxycynya will not participate in the Cup should the event go ahead.

WHAT ARE WE DRIVING?
Each participating nation will submit a team of two identical cars, two primary drivers, and up to four reserve drivers. There are a few particulars that your car must meet to be entered into the Cup. They are as follows:
• Your car must be road-legal in Kyann. As Kyann (the founding nation of our region) is no longer legally active, this prevents any sort of loopholing in which a nation changes its road safety laws to gain an advantage at the expense of their citizens’ safety. Essentially, this rule means that your car should be car-shaped, with lights and fenders and emissions equipment and safety features and that sort of thing.
• Your car must be chiefly produced and assembled in your nation. It need not be assembled by a company based in your nation.
• At the time of vehicle registration, your vehicle must be actively manufactured and available for sale to the public.
• You may modify your race vehicles to differ from the publicly available specifications only via the addition of interior race safety features, the removal of materials that provide a purely cosmetic function, and the replacement of the fuel tank.
• Your car must have a weight of no less than 1200 kg when fully fueled and ready to drive. Similarly, it must have a peak power output of no greater than 500 horsepower when in this state.
Similarly, your drivers must meet a few standards before being registered.
• Each driver must hold an active driving license or equivalent in their home nation.
• Each driver must confirm their willingness to register for the Cup.
• No driver may have been convicted of a crime in the past twenty years.
• Additionally, each driver must pass a race physical examination administered by the trackside medical officials of each race before competing in that race.
To keep one team from gaining a disproportionate advantage via loopholes in the rules, rules in this section may be added, removed or adjusted between races by agreement of a supermajority (at least 2/3) of the participating nations.

WHERE ARE WE DRIVING?
Any participating nation may submit a track for the race. Prospective tracks must conform to the following regulations:
• All portions of the track intended to be driven must be composed of either preexisting roads or purpose-built track surface.
• No portion of the track may be narrower than 10 meters.
• No track shall have a total length less than 5 kilometers or greater than 15 kilometers.
• All portions of the track must be surrounded by either 30 meters of flat unobstructed surface or by barriers designed to stop uncontrolled vehicles with little harm to the occupants.
• No portion of the track may have obstructions or obstacles on the track surface.
• No portion of the track shall be accessible to the public during the race window. The race window begins 72 hours before the race’s scheduled start time and ends 24 hours after the race ends.
To avoid prohibitive construction costs, track design regulations may be changed only between Cups.

HOW DO I ENTER?
You can't yet. This dispatch is just meant to gauge how many Bethsaidans would be interested in something like this. Once registration opens (if it opens), you’ll need your nation name, as well as a trigram (three-letter abbreviation of your nation’s name). If you’re entering a race team, you’ll need the names, ages, skill levels and (optionally) brief biographies of your main and reserve drivers, as well as the specifications of your entered vehicle. Images, though optional, are encouraged.
Driver skill levels are spread across Acceleration, Cornering, and Reliability. Each driver can have a value of 0 to 100 in each stat. Aim for an average of about 80 across all stats. We’re racing the region’s best here, after all.
If you’re entering a track, you’ll need its name, length, location within your nation, seating, and (again, optionally) a brief informational statement about it. You’ll also need a track map: essentially just a line drawing of where the corners are and how everything fits together.

HOW IS SCORING DETERMINED?
All scoring will be determined via Xkoranate, the preferred scoring program for NationStates sporting events. Several factors will affect race results.
The first is driver skill levels, with higher skill levels correlated to better race performance.
The second is roleplay bonuses. Teams can gain up to 15% in bonuses to their performance by writing their team’s perspective on racing events. This includes such things as the function of your team’s car, post-race reports, and press releases of all kinds.
The third is the random inner workings of Xkoranate. Some things cannot be predicted, and the program takes that into account.
Upon completion of a race, the top drivers in the race will receive points. The system for who gets how many points will be selected once the number of teams is finalized.

AI POLICY
Use of generative AI to create images of your car is permitted and will not negatively affect your roleplay bonus. However, use of other methods (car design videogames, public domain images, pencil and paper, MS Paint) is encouraged and will not negatively affect your roleplay bonus.
Use of generative AI to write roleplay posts, create track diagrams, or produce any other Cup-facing creative work is not permitted and will be met with penalties. Continued use of generative AI in this way may result in your ejection from the Cup.
