The Alliance was founded on the belief that economic development, political liberty, and international cooperation are mutually reinforcing rather than competing objectives.

Rather than attempting to impose a single political or economic model upon its members, the IADG seeks to provide a framework in which nations can cooperate while maintaining their own sovereignty, cultures, institutions, and domestic policies.
