The world has made so huge progress in polishing the concept of the human rights. It saddens me that some of progressive countries want to roll back so desperately

America is the least progressive of the progressive countries XD

One of the major issues of maintaining national unity. There are so many various viewpoints and divergent opinions. We used to be able to strike a reasonable balance and reach agreements. Now, the situation is becoming increasingly chaotic. Protests and riots. People are miserable everywhere around them. Corruption. One hugely disorganized system. Each State already conducts itself as a separate nation. People love their states more than they love the federal government. A 300-year-old system. If it wants to last, there must be a significant change. A monstrous mess.

I love The US more than my state but the federal government isnt the US, the US is the people and the land

Einswenn wrote:How does that work? If someone resides in a red state which limits this right, can this person go to a blue state to perform abortion and then come back home?

This is also way too expensive for some people, especially if you don't live near the border of a blue state.

Slavery

Eco-Paris Reformation wrote:Depends. The laws have to be written and I'm sure some Red States will penalize it.

We should probably begin to arrest USAmericans over here for illegal gun ownership then. 'But at home it's allowed! Mimimimi' Tough luck, Joe Eagleguy

Boris whining about how train strikes are causing "all sorts of unnecessary aggravation".

Just realized that states that want to ban guns can just ban gun stores and SCOTUS can't deem their law unconstitutional because it only says they need to be able to "keep and bear arms."

Also most of them are fire arms and not intended for bears at all

Sure, in theory. But that's not how America works. The Supreme Court is just another political organization, the justices are unelected politicians in robes. Sneaky loopholes are only tolerated if they want it to.

The Supreme Court would take a very loose interpretation of the 14th Amendment mixed with the 2nd Amendment.

I mean people who do have money could create a fund for people who don't

And some busybody from Texas would sue them for aiding and abetting an abortion.

Maesulia

In general, the American political polarization has its roots in American industrialization, the moral issue that was slavery and the Civil War

Like that'll ever happen

We could even have a specialised organisation to do the collecting, and maybe have it run by civil servants for better oversight and maybe give it a catchy name like... mhm... taxes or something

The proletariat!

as long as the "tax" was volentary and those who were against abortion didn't have to pay for it.
