What Are Endorsement Caps?

Endorsement caps, or endocaps, are limits on the number of World Assembly endorsements a nation can have. For more information on Europeia's endorsement caps, see this dispatch.

Why Do Endorsement Caps Matter?

Europeia is a Frontier region. Frontiers are User-Created Regions that receive a portion of the new nations that are founded within NationStates each day. The tradeoff for this is that Europeia does not have a Governor to protect it, leaving our Delegate as the sole wielder of Executive authority over the region. Europeia's endocaps are designed to protect the region from foreign and domestic threats to the Delegacy.

Why Are Other Nations Withdrawing Their Endorsements From Me?

You are most likely exceeding your endorsement cap. The Regional Security Council will, through our endotarting tool, telegrams, and other means of communication, request endorsement withdrawals in these cases. Please see see this dispatch for more information on the endorsement cap. If you are not sure which endorsement cap applies to you, please contact a member of the Regional Security Council

What Should I Do If I Am Over My Endocap?

The first thing that you should do is contact a member of the Regional Security Council. Next, stop endorsing new non-RSC nations, which will reduce the new number of endorsements you receive. You can also request that nations unendorse you via Telegram. Should this prove ineffective, or you find yourself above your cap by a significant amount, it may be sensible to resign from the World Assembly and then immediately rejoin. Doing so will preserve all of the endorsements that you have given to other nations in the region, but will reset your own endorsements to zero. If you are not sure which of these strategies is best for you, it is recommended that you wait until a member of the Regional Security Council responds to you.

What Should I Do If I See Another Nation Exceeding Its Endocap?

If you are endorsing that nation, make sure to withdraw your endorsement as soon as possible, but you do not need to do anything otherwise. The Regional Security Council will work with them to ensure compliance.

How Does The Endotarting Tool Work?

The Regional Security Council's endocap monitoring and enforcement tools, the public face of which is tart.nsupc.dev, tracks regional activity through regular polling of the NationStates API. The information reported by the site should be accurate to within two minutes. The system is written in Go, and while the code is not available publicly at this time, this may be subject to change. Specific inquiries or concerns may be directed to UPC.
