The Protectorate of Vikorund is a colossal, orderly nation, ruled by High Leader Chalcedony Lapis with an iron fist, and notable for its national health service, daily referendums, and rampant corporate plagiarism. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless, devout population of 3.726 billion Víkonaitur are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The large, corrupt, socially-minded government is primarily concerned with Defense, although Environment, Law & Order, and Spirituality are also considered important, while International Aid and Public Transport receive no funds. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Stóbaein u Kristal. The average income tax rate is 49.3%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The Víko economy, worth 199 trillion lutis a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a large, well-organized, highly specialized black market in Arms Manufacturing, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Basket Weaving. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 53,668 lutis, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The derisively named "Morlocks of Moria" futilely demand time in the sun, apples shaped like baguettes have become a strange new food fad, the government has organised a nationwide cull of infected auéboes, and posh restaurants scatter glass fragments on the dining room floor to keep out barefoot undesirables. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Vikorund's national animal is the auébo, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its national religion is Elékt Runári.

Vikorund is ranked 254,544th in the world and 447th in Communitas for Highest Disposable Incomes, with 27,210.06 Standard Monetary Units.
