Official Government Announcement: The 13th Deputy Secretary-General Election Has Begun

The United Empire of Islam Charter designates the Deputy Secretary-General as the regional head of government. An election is typically held every four months to give members of the General Assembly an opportunity to choose their next Deputy Secretary-General. This special election is being held due to the resignation of the former Deputy Secretary-General Bosnia herzegovina and sandzak. This election will determine the member that will serve as the region's Deputy Secretary-General for the term ending on March 15th, 2021 CE.

This election will be divided into two parts, a nomination period and a polling period. The nomination period will start on November 9th at midnight UTC. It will continue for 72 hours until November 11th 11:59 PM UTC. The polling period will begin immediately after on November 12th at midnight UTC. It will end after 96 hours on November 15th at 11:59 PM UTC. The new Deputy Secretary-General will be sworn in on November 16th, 2020 CE.

All members of the region registered on the UEI forums before the 31st of October may participate in the nomination and polling. Members registered after the 31st of October are not eligible to participate in the election. Any nominations and votes made by such members of the region shall be rendered null and void.

Nominations will be accepted for all qualified registered UEI members. Members may nominate themselves for the election. They may not nominate non-registered members or registered members that will have resided in the region for less than 90 days on November 15th. No more than one nomination should be made by each member. All nominations must be made on the designated SurveyMonkey page. Nominations on the RMB will not be accepted. If a nomination has already been made for a member, it is requested that no other members nominate the same member again. In the polling period, each nominated member will be put up as a separate option in the official poll. Registered members will be allowed to vote for any one option.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Secretary-General The Pakistani Federation, the Interim Deputy Secretary-General Kawther, or the Election Commissioner Western Arab Empire. If you need to know if a member of the UEI is registered and eligible for nomination, please follow this link:

Procedural Note about the 13th Deputy Secretary-General Election

The Election Commission, with the approval of the Interim Deputy Secretary-General, has made a procedural change to the nomination and polling processes of the election. Due to complaints from the General Assembly about elections being held on the forums, the Election Commission will be using SurveyMonkey to administer this election. SurveyMonkey is a free and secure survey service used by many organizations around the world. Members do not need to create a SurveyMonkey account in order to participate in the election.

All nominations for this election cycle will be accepted at the following link:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BYDC3K9

On the survey page, members that wish to submit a nomination will fill in their nation name, the name of their nominee, and a unique election access code. The election access code will be telegrammed to all members eligible to participate in the election. If you believe you are eligible to participate in the election and you have not received an election access code, please contact Western Arab Empire. Any nominations made without a valid election access code will be rendered void.

Throughout the nomination period, as nominations are submitted, the AP/UEI will make public announcements on the Regional Message Board and on the region's Discord channel. At the end of the nomination period, a results page with all the submissions will be made publicly available. A new survey page and set of election access codes will be generated for the polling period on November 12th. Instructions about participation in the polling period will also be posted then.

The Election Commission thanks you for your participation. If you have any feedback or questions about the process, feel free to contact the Election Commissioner Western Arab Empire.

I am, I literally can't leave my home.
I am PO'd. I have faithfully followed the government guidelines. Yet, I'm the one who's missing out on all the parties while everyone else is goofing off. I feel bad because if at least one person I knew got sick I'd be able to say it was all worth it :/

Am I allowed to vote for Boz?
I think it'd be hilarious for him to resign only to be elected again.

It is all worth it.

Don't look at the parties, look at the dead. Your reward for maintaining sensible infection control measures is knowing that you did not contribute to those deaths.

That's absolutely true.

You can certainly nominate him again. But he can turn down the nomination as well.

Are you just under precautionary quarantine or did you test positive?

Precautionary. Never once had a fever, but I've had a bad cough my whole life. Smoking cannabis helps oddly enough.

I find it strange when people say smoking helps with their cough xD

How's the general situation in your neck of the woods?

I always thought it was a myth, or an excuse.
At the worst it's a very good placebo lol.

But damn awful. I spent half the year sitting in my bedroom behind a screen. I would like to go back outside and rebuild my already minute social life sometime before 2022

I feel you, mate. This year has been real tough. But things are looking up. Or at least I like to think that they are. It helps make the present situation more bearable.
