Deputy Council

The Deputy Council are a group of Deputy Councilors (DC) which are nations that are, in essence, assistants of the Local Council. The Deputy Councilors will help the Local Council accomplish goals of the Local Council, help with tasks designated by the Local Council, help manage gameside events on the Regional Message Board, and notify the Local Council of rule-breaking posts/incidents on the Regional Message Board using the Deputy Council Warning System (created by Trivalve).The Deputy Councilors can also lead projects if approved by the Local Council. Deputy Councilors may be designated specific roles to lead (e.g., integrating new players, organizing Regional Message Board events, etc.).

The Deputy Councilors are not Regional Officers (RO) on the Admin page of The South Pacific. Therefore, they cannot suppress posts, send out region-wide telegrams, or make polls.

For a nation to become a Deputy Councilor, they must have resided in The South Pacific for 120 days or more at the time of appointment. Deputy Councilors can remain Deputy Councilors until the Local Council term ends, but they have to be appointed at least a week after the Local Council has been elected. This grace period allows the Local Council to be settled in, and have time to select the Deputy Councilors. A minimum of three Deputy Councilors should be appointed, and Deputy Councilors may be removed or added at the bidding of the Local Council.

Deputy Councilors may serve in back-to-back Local Council terms. However, it may be ideal to get a fresh group of Deputy Councilors.

Deputy Councilors do not need to have a Discord account. However, it will be extremely useful to have one due to the fact that most, if not all, discussions led by the Local Council are on Discord. If not, the means of communication will be done via telegram and/or posts on the Regional Message Board.
