Just to make it clear, we are now accepting embassies.
On this day, 5 years ago, the young nation of The Great Lands of Grishahakkaverchynot started 
a forum thread in the NationStates forums that eventually led to the collapse of a prior incarnation of this region, The Oceania. In that time of five years, we’ve seen the advances on the scene of raiding and maybe it’s time to comment on some of them.
In the latter three of these years, The Brotherhood of Malice, which withdrew from NationStates recently, went from returning from a hiatus of 7 years (2015-2022), to being called the master of a large majority of the raiders.
The perception of the side of the raiders has changed substantially in this time, with the rise of Raider Unity, as well as the sanctions issued by the Modern Gameplay Compact and The South Pacific. With the old maxims of raiders staying to this day, we have seen regions that were neutral starting to shift to the defenders.
Despite all of the recent actions towards sanctioning, there is hope that there can be light on the path winding through. We have seen progress towards some of the rising regions not willing to engage in this war of proscriptions. While most notable raider regions are not willing to engage, a fairly recent-ish joint operation between Starlight and the Purple Pony Club shows hope. A substantial change over counter-raids due to guilt by association with raiders.
I’m not saying that the raiders are fully innocent, there are former citizens and staff members of raider regions who have had their OOC permissions over there revoked over the fact that they had undone their damage in another region.
But maybe the glory days are not behind us… but ahead of us. We must work for this. If you are a WA resident in a large region, please, vote on the resolutions based on the merits of the text, not on the merits of the author.
The Brotherhood of Malice may have hibernated, but the void it left will be filled.
