I'm what I guess you can call a Green Social Democrat. I support Social Democracy but with an emphasis on the environment, as well as some NeoLib or DemSoc policies such as allowing supplemental private insurance or the Green New Deal, respectively.

The security council resolution is currently the closest I've ever seen. 9 votes ahead right now. Personally I'm against as I don't like seeing raiders get badges but to each their own.

Currently, it's now at a more safe 60 something ahead, so it'll probably pass. Pretty insane though. WA resolutions can either be nearly unanimous or like crazy close.

I would just like to state that I received Issue #973: Guided Missiles and Misguided Men, and I absolutely love this issue. Written by Chan island, it is my favorite issue in the database currently. I said this right away when it got accepted, and I still hold the view that it is an awesome issue.

I'm a huge fan of two-option issues because it pits two diametrically opposing views against each other, and you have to make a decision. It's a great premise that takes on a very serious topic. Great issue, Chan!

Raiders have been taking out any delegate in a founderless region that voted against if they don't vote again after they retain their delegacy their vote will be lost

I created a region one time before I was here in Forest. I created the region on my account we do not speak of and one day when I was in the region (this was like a year ago) I logged on to see my region got raided my Lily and they kicked all of my members out because I didn't realize you could change the permission of the WA Delegate so they raided the region made one of their raiders a WA Delegate and kicked everyone out and changed the description of the region too ¨This region has kindly volunteered to be our jump point for Lily¨ Blah blah blah more stuff about how you should join lily all that crap.

It’s not that I’m concerned about “ebil raiders shouldn’t get recognised because ebil raiders are fac1st community cleavers”, but I just can’t find it within myself to care to commend/condemn yet another TBH RO no matter how eloquently ‘an SC resolution author with much first-hand experience in raiding with TBH’ describes how coordinated and complex their GP machinations were

Perhaps I’ve been inundated with evil, perhaps the world has, perhaps I’m desensitised

You didn’t join Lily?? Unbelievable :P

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I have to say that, among my library of accepted issues, that one definitely holds a bit of a special place in my heart too. :)

It's also, interestingly, one of the very few where my real world answer to it is completely different now from when I first put it up. When I put it up, I was originally a firm believer in option 2. Now I am almost fanatical about the fact that according to my worldview, option 1 is the correct choice.

What's the plan for Z-Day this year?

Ziotah and Riverside wrote:What's the plan for Z-Day this year?

We are waiting to hear if there will be a Z-Day in the traditional sense, some substitute or alternate version, or if it will be skipped due to the pandemic (there is some sentiment that an event about spreading plague and killing millions might not be well received amidst a real spreading plague that is killing millions).

If there is a traditional Z-Day, Forest will maintain its customary role of being a strictly curing region. Last year we achieved our best results ever: 2nd place in the world for most survivors with no zombies. On top of that, we did it with not even a single dead person to boot!

If there is some other sort of event, we'll have to study what it is first in order to develop our strategy, but will certainly let folks know as soon as we're able.

Good point about the real-life situation...I'm sure the NS crowd is niche enough to understand the poor timing of a long-term tradition this year. As always, I'm willing to help out with border patrol if we do have an event this year that requires that sort of thing.

Hello to the denizens of Forest,

I am Lennia, the Augustus and founder of Oatland. Long have our two regions enjoyed fruitful and friendly relations that have benefited both parties and served to enhance the quality of our world. As such it pained me greatly to see the events of N-Day and related issues create a rift between regions that are and ought to be committed friends. Forest Keeper Verdant Haven and I have worked for some time now to discover and rectify the issues that caused such unpleasantness to rear its head, and believe that we have succeeded in determining the appropriate course of action to get our friendly relationship back on the right track.

As Augustus of Oatland, I wish to extend my personal apologies to the people of Forest for the accusation by members of O.R.D.A that Canopy/Potato Alliance was largely responsible for our destruction during N-Day. The actions that were taken against O.R.D.A. were carried out by a rogue element and were, in fact, relatively minor compared to other damage sustained during the exchange.

It was O.R.D.A.'s goal to assist our old Canopy allies even if we were operating independently, and the events that followed led to an admittedly harsh response; for that, I am sorry.

Our people hold a great respect and admiration for Forest, and do not, nor have we ever, believed that these present circumstances should overshadow our longstanding friendship and mutually beneficial alliance. We look forward to the resumption of our friendly relations and future growth together.

When I had it the first time, I was pretty set on option two. When I received it today, I again chose option two... guess I'm pretty set on my views, haha.

Today's a good day for me. After 10 months of chest pain, nausea, and other symptoms, visits to 6 different hospitals, many blood tests, and a handful of ECGs, ultrasounds, x-rays and so on, I just got a diagnosis. Apparently, I had the Coxsackie virus, and now it's gone but I need time to heal.

The treatment for this is to do no physical activity and eat iodine heavy foods for a few months. Basically, I'm supposed to sit around and eat packaged food. I've been trying to exercise more and eat healthier ever since this started, so it kind of explains why it got so bad. Though I do have to give up literally anything spicy, so that's a downside.

I had to look this one up. Why would excercise be bad for you? Good luck with the recovery!

Ownzone wrote:I had to look this one up. Why would excercise be bad for you? Good luck with the recovery!

I'm not an expert in this particular virus but it can infect the heart and cause myocarditis, which is inflammation of the heart muscle tissue. While the inflammation goes away by itself over time after the infection has been cleared, strenuous exercise essentially puts extra strain on a heart that's already struggling and this compounds the risk of complications like heart failure.

That's basically what I was told. In my case, it's less heart failure and more it will take a lot longer to heal, and I want to be able to ride a bike next summer.

I am sorry to hear of your extended pains and troubles, but delighted that you are on the mending side of the challenge! Best wishes for the swiftest possible recovery from what sounds like it has been a long and trying ordeal.

Meanwhile I'd probably always take the long view. The fellow's a terrorist that has threatened my nation and killed lots and lots of my people. If he lives, many more will die. It is regrettable that the children will die as a consequence but that is collateral I'll have to deal with -- and so what if it radicalizes others to fight you, if that's the case then so be it. It may be a net-zero in PR but it is a gain in the fight because you've knocked out a major leader of the other side.

You can't always abide by morality in a war with the other side who does not give a flying fook about the rules of warfare, so why should you? Now, if it were a conventional enemy, then, yeah, the rules of war will apply. But terrorists? They live to create terror, as that's the only way they can do stuff without getting carpet-bombed in a conventional war. No matter, play by their rules, and they will cease to exist.

In universe, DND wouldn't let the kids die no matter how insane that sounds, while TAH would nuke the continent for good measure.

Thankfully, irl the US (being both a nation that does a lot of anti-terrorism and at least pretends to care about collateral damage) now often uses what are basically guided chunks of metal (ie, they don't explode) to take out terrorists if possible, so at least we're improving on that front.
