The Ankraidian Chronicles
Civil War Breaks Out in Sufeia

Regionalism had long marked the relationship among the numerous lands of Ankraid, and the wars of independence in the 1950s and 1960s did not result in regional unity. But times change, and the wars and revolutions of the late 2060s and early 2070s have seen Pan-Ankraidism become widespread among revolutionaries, notably among Mayka Rurkir of Rokedsia and the Patriotic Knights of Sufeia. Alaback's ascent onto the world stage with GASCAR, trade deals, etc. gave revolutionaries the confidence that Ankraid could stand by itself on the world stage, and the Peace Conference in Freagenhaus that ended the Archipealgo War, widely covered, exposed many to foreign ideas of nationalism and militarism.

All over Ankraid Pan-Ankraidists do battle, sometimes behind a table, sometimes behind the barrel of a gun, with regional governments, but rarely have these conflicts spilled out into full-blown wars, Noer and Rokedsia being the exception. But today, the Republic of Sufeia broke out into full-blown civil war which threatens to spill over into the rest of Ankraid.

Once known as the fastest growing economy in Ankraid, mainly due to the long reign of the oligarchic and market liberal Sufeian Uinthiars Partei (Unitarian Party), Sufeia went into decline in the 2060s and early 2070s, when Dundinan-owned companies began squeezing the republic for maximum profit to aid in the north's many wars. Years of economic trouble and political chaos followed, leaving the country in a dangerous and vulnerable position. Inevitably, the army preformed a coup, with the support of the far-right Liga Patrioticha Sufeia (Patriotic League of Sufeia) under Maruet Sasresn, which happened on Christmas of 2080.

Naturally, mainly were displeased, leading to a toraist revolt in the north of the nation, who established the Sufeian Workers' Front, and the Federoltis (Federationists) revolted and took control of the northwest. An uneasy peace was secured in 2081, although clashes between the SWF and the junta were common.

By 2085 it was clear that Sasresn had no intention of destroying the SWF and the Federoltis, and he was overthrown in a counter-coup performed by the Sufeian Navy, placing Admiral Merucal Amedar was leader. Almost immediately, the army rebelled, and the SWF and Federoltis invaded. In a stunning move, the Amedar government was able to beat them into a stalemate, largely thanks to the defensive mastermind that is General Lakum Saparilon of the Sufeian Marines, and another uneasy peace was made.

Admiral Amedar was able to consolidate power within the armed forces and defeated any army stragglers. Despite fighting many skirmishes with the toraists, Admiral Amedar tried to focus more on domestic affairs by attempting to rebuild the crippled Sufeian economy.

But just a week ago Admiral Amedar passed away after a long fight with cancer. In the late months of his life, he made it clear that General Saparilon was to succeed him, and upon his passing Saparilon became the new head of the Sufeian junta.

Upon hearing the news, the SWF invaded with the support of the Dundinan People's Patriotic Front, and their invasion was followed by one from the Federoltis. Junta troops, who were still undergoing a reorganization and were mostly made up of ill-equipped conscripts, melted against the red and blue tide. Saparilon has quickly organized his marines and what ever infantry remained and dug in at a makeshift defensive line called the Hanes Line.

Alaback, the regional power in Ankraid, announced their support for General Saparilon, mainly because both him and his government are Pan-Ankraidists, and also because Alaback fears a toraist presence on Ankraid would bring the Sixth International to the island, and Alaback has a long-standing policy of trying to distance itself from the major alliances, Sixth International or not, as much as possible. As such, Alaback has made a request to the nations of the world to not get involved in any way in the conflict.

Alaback has shipped 2.5k guns to Saparilon and plans to ship 7.5k more in the following month, and volunteers around Ankraid are making their way to both Saparilon's forces and the SWF.

The Voice of Hoffnung

Where In The World Is Tirza Hoffman?

In a shocking, terrifying and very unexpected turn of events, Tirza Hoffman, the President of Tirfyng, is declared to be missing.

The situation was confirmed when Hoffman did not show up at her office at the Marble House in Hoffnung today. Tirfyngian Secret Service agents then investigated her private estate in the town of Lintz, 10 miles from Hoffnung. Secret Service could not find any trace of Hoffmann's location, but did note that "the house reeked of an awful smell...like rotten eggs."

As of 2 hours ago, Vice President Robert Smets has temporarily taken office as the current president of Tirfyng. Smets has ordered a nationwide search for the president, authorizing Tirfyngian Special Forces Command to execute long range sweeps all over the country.

Tiny County Declares "Complete Secession" From Tirfyng

"In the light of recent events, we, the people of Tampere County, declare our secession from the Seven United Provinces of Tirfyng and establish ourselves as the Principality of Tampere."

Sven "Prinz Oelhaffen I" Oelhaffen of Tampere County, former mayor of its county seat Schenectády-dem-Linden, released this statement on Yeezy today in response to the disappearance of Tirza Hoffmann.

Tampere County's sudden secession has met widespread reactions throughout Tirfyng. Angry locals living near the vicinity of the self-declared microstate of Tampere have voiced to "invade the cesspit of such treachery and forcefully reintegrate it to Tirfyng."

A paramilitary group of nationalist warriors, the War Hawks, have mobilized close to Tampere's borders to "invade" the microstate and bring Oelhaffen to justice.

Eula Laurentius Appears in Army Recruitment Ad

The famous V-streamer Eula Laurentius appeared in the newest recruitment ad released by the Tirfyngian Army. She is depicted as a tank loader loading a HEAT shell within a Leeuw tank.

The advertisement garnered a huge surge in army recruitment, with an overwhelming amount of applications to join the Armored Corps. The Army views it as a resounding success and hopes to expand their armored divisions with the new surge of recruitment.

The Tampere Crisis: Tensions Running High in Tirfyng as Tampereans Take President Hoffmann Hostage

After several days of searching for Tirza Hoffmann, President of Tirfyng, it was found out that she had been captured by Tamperean separatists and is currently being held hostage in the largest city of Tampere, Moensenn.

She was captured on the day she went missing, which was 8 days ago. Apparently, Hoffmann was stuck in her private bathroom when her electronic door lock failed to open. She was stuck in her bathroom for 10 hours. Despite making very loud sounds to signal for help, she was unable to alert the very naïve law enforcement agents trying to look for her.

Because of their incompetence, acting president Smets sacked 62 Ministry of Internal Security-Tirfyng (MIST) agents and replaced them with older recruits, mostly veterans from the Palanchean Intervention.

Prinz Oelhaffen has demanded multiple concessions for the safe release of Tirza Hoffmann. They are:

1.) The annexation of three neighboring counties north, south, and east of Tampere (Svaltberg, Elbinn, and Ouragan).

2.) Recognition of Tampere as a sovereign entity.

3.) Withdrawal of all military/paramilitary forces on the borders of Tampere and its territories.

4.) Unrestricted transport access to Tampere and throughout Tirfyng.

President Smets has denied Oelhaffen any concessions and issued an ultimatum instead. If Oelhaffen does not hand over the president in three days time, he will send in special forces units to forcibly extract her from Moensenn. One of the units he plans to deploy is the TSK Marine-Divisie's 1st Battalion, which contains the legendary Albin Jork, Hero of Retusan.

Oliandiria has announced they will be sending the renowned AGO to aid in the rescue of Tirza Hoffmann and in bringing the Tamperean Separatists to justice.

V-Streamers and The Army: Continued?

In a shocking turn of events, Eula Laurentius has publicly announced that she would like to volunteer in the Army so she can help save President Hoffmann. After much discussion with Bowery Corp officials, Eula has become the first ever V-streamer to serve in any military throughout Tierra. She has been assigned to the 1 Panzer Divisie's 1st Armored Regiment, 1st Panzer Battalion.

Channel 6 News at 3:00 PM

LIVE: Military Prepares to Execute "Operation Deliverance."

"Good afternoon, I'm Lukas Remington of Channel 6, and this is Channel 6 News coming to you live at three o'clock. Just two minutes ago, acting President Smets convened an emergency press conference in front of the Marble House. He addressed to the media that Tampere has 'failed to come up with an acceptable answer' for the ultimatum he provided a few days ago. With the ultimatum expired, President Smets has no choice but to launch a daunting rescue operation to safely retrieve the imprisoned Tirza Hoffmann, currently being held hostage at the city of Moensenn in Tampere. We go to you live at Joint Army Base Fort Katwijk in the city of Batumi, only one hundred and eighty-one kilometers from Tampere's border. Reporting live at the base is Rachel Drexel. How are you doing, Rachel?"

"I'm doing fine," Rachel responds. "Thanks for asking. As you can see behind me, the military is preparing to execute the operation with multiple of our best and brightest. We've got members of the KST's Rapid Response Force, the Greyhounds, and even Marine Special Operations Command tanks of the 4th Armored Regimental Combat Team from the MARSOC's very own Panzer Division. Furthermore, they are being joined by Oliandirian secret service units of the AGO. I am not allowed to say how many forces will be taking part in the operation, but we can definitely tell that the Tamperean separatists will have one heck of a welcoming party."

"Earlier today, Rachel, you said that apparently you are authorized to interview the legendary Per Albin Jork of the Marine's 1st Amtrak Divisie, now a member of the MARSOC Amtrak-Divisie. Is he there with you?"

Rachel nods. "Yes, Lukas," she replied. "In fact, he's just right over there, rushing over to my side to begin the interview."

The tall, thin, but muscular form of Jork enters the camera's field of vision. The cameraman pans over to where Jork is. His face is filled with a nervous but energetic expression.

"Good afternoon, Miss Drexel. How are ya?"

"I'm doing fine, Jork. How's the hero doing?"

"Ready to kick some [censored] and take names, all in the name of the Great Architect."

"That's great to hear, Jork!"

"This is the most important mission of my life, ma'am. I'm so excited that I feel like a child on Rebirth Day!"

"Splendid. I would like to ask—there are rumors that you are apparently going to work with the legendary Eula Laurentius, V-Streamer talent from Bowery Corporation's Muse Production. Are these true?"

"Indeed they are, madam. Since I am going to captain the main tank of the operation, I needed an expert loader. According to Eula's data during her training as a tank crewman, she placed in the top ten of ammunition loaders in terms of loading speed and endurance."

"Wow. What's her rank?"

"Fourth best."

"Incredible!"

"The number one ammunition loader is currently a crewmember of another tank, while the second and third best loaders are busy having their mandated leave in Calcaterra. Therefore, I decided to choose Eula as my tank's loader."

"I see. Another question here...let me see if I can get it...okay, do you have any remarks to viewers watching you today?"

"Here are my remarks, madam."

Jork straightens out his posture and clears his throat.

"To all viewers...[sigh] I ask you for your sincere prayers to the Architect, or to any deity you wish to pray to. The eyes of Tirfyng are upon me, and I wish to perform to the best of my ability in executing this operation. Tirfyng depends on all of us, including you, for this to succeed. I pray to Tirza that she stays safe during the entire course of today and tomorrow, and forevermore. And to the Tamperean separatists going to oppose me today...say your prayers now. You have sinned so much, and for so much, how shall you repay? Your actions have consequences, and the Architect may not be so merciful once I fight you in the name of the Seven Provinces."

"Is there anything else you would like to say before we move back to Lukas?"

Jork shakes his head solemnly. "No."

Five hours later...

Town of Loos. Compagner County, Vallonia Province. 10 Kilometers from Tampere.

A camera feed provided by Channel 6's own quadcopter drone, the Eyes of Hoffnung, hovers above the convoy of soldiers heading towards the outskirts of Tampere.

The soldiers are safely ensconced within their armored vehicles, mainly tanks and APCs, as they roll towards the county line. In the air, two CH-3A Rooivaalk transport/gunship helicopter hybrids follow the convoy along the winding road of Snelweg 12.

"As we can all see here," Lukas begins speaking, "the convoy is very close to Tampere's county line. So far, no resistance has been reported yet. Local police forces in Loos have ordered townspeople to evacuate in the case the conflict spills over to them. This means traffic in the area is practically naught, providing our forces here a significant advantage in speed."

The convoy then passes through Tampere County's county line, entering enemy territory.

2 hours later...

Elsingfors Ward. Moensenn, Tampere.

The convoy finally reaches the outskirts of the city. At this point, the Eyes of Hoffnung quadcopter drone was withdrawn from the scene due to the extreme range it had to operate from. Instead, the camera feed is provided by a E-1A "Salamander" long-range ISR drone of the Tirfyngian Air Force.

The convoy consists of at least three dozen vehicles. At the front are six HGP-III Leeuw tanks. The frontmost tank leading the convoy, Zwarte Hammer, is Jork's tank. It is coated with a special Type-II urban digital disruptive pattern camouflage paint, making it grey and white in color. The other tanks behind it are painted in the same fashion. All of the tanks are covered with reactive armor plates, sandbags, and even wijn bottles. The crews lashed the bottles on their tanks' turrets for good luck.

As Jork's tank rolls over a hastily made metal barricade constructed from benches and trashcans, a giant plume of fire explodes several meters behind them.

BOOM!

The voice of General Kuiper is suddenly heard.

"What just happened!" He yells on the audio feed as his radio transmission is being tracked by the media. "Give me a status report!"

"We've lost one of the AGO vehicles!" A very shaken soldier answers his question. "[censored], they have IEDs!"

"[censored it!" Kuiper cursed.

"Full stop," Jork ordered the convoy. The procession of armored vehicles drew to an abrupt halt. "Lieutenant Raljot, I want you to investigate Captain Olzjok's vehicle."

"Yessir," the Oliandirian lieutenant replied. His team disembarked from their armored personnel carrier to investigate the wreckage of Captain Olzjok's heavily damaged S-100.

They search the wreck for several long minutes while the tanks in the front provided cover. The Rooivaalk helicopters flew ahead, conducting an impromptu sweep to search for any signs of other IEDs.

"I've got bad news," Raljot informs Jork. "Captain Olzjok didn't make it. He was right next to the IED when it went off. It killed him instantly."

"What about his crew?"

"They need immediate medical attention."

"This is Scepter Team," Jork radioed command. "Requesting immediate MEDEVAC at my location. We have one KIA, four badly injured."

"Acknowledged," Kuiper replied. "MEDEVAC is en route. ETA, twenty minutes."

"Roger that, Command. We'll regroup to a secure spot to make sure they get home safe."

Jork orders the convoy to move once more, but at a slower and careful pace. The leery soldiers watched their surroundings for any signs of trouble. Their trigger fingers twitched as the nerve-wracking procession drew longer and longer.

After six minutes, the convoy arrives at a large, enclosed car park in the Rossartre Ward of the city. The Tirfyngian tanks and APCs stay outside while the AGO units take cover within to protect medics providing triage to their four seriously wounded comrades.

The escorting Rooivaalks reported a few signs of IEDs on the main road to Moensenn City Hall, but in the adjacent districts around the convoy there are no other explosives.

"We're going to get them home," Jork assured the AGO inside the carpark. "I'll make sure of that."

Suddenly, there is audible shuffling in the building in front of the carpark.

"Air escort, the [censored] is that?"

One of the Rooivaalk pilots start speaking anxiously.

"S-sergeant! RPG!"

"What?"

BOOOM!

A S-100 APC is suddenly blown up. Jork peers through the scope of his tank and sees several hooded figures armed with RPGs running around in the building above. He can see them behind the glass windows, taking aim at their vehicles.

"Take cover!"

FOOSH! FOOSH! FOOOSH! FOOSH!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOOOM! BOOM...

Several RPGs are fired from the building's windows. Most of them miss their targets, but three rockets struck a Leeuw tank next to Jork's vehicle. The tank's reactive armor plating is blown off, but it survives the onslaught of RPGs.

"All units, return fire!"

The tanks opened up with their main guns and their coaxial machine guns.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG, BANG!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM...BOOM!

The chaos mushrooms to utter mayhem as the two sides violently exchanged gunfire with one another.

To be continued...

Calcaterra, Ulutor, and Oliandiria

Jork peered through the scope of his tank and saw utter mayhem. It was nothing like he had seen in Retusan before.

Rockets exploded all around him. Bullets and shells crisscrossed in the air. He heard the screams of men in three different languages either begging for help or uttering battle cries.

As he stood in his chair contemplating the madness around him, he heard a female voice below addressing him.

"Sir? SIR!? SIR!"

He shook his head.

"W-what? What is it?"

He looked below and saw the face of the woman behind Eula Laurentius. Her real name is Janette Driessen.

"Oh...Janet...it's you."

He breathed a sigh of relief.

"Are you okay, sir?" Janet asked him.

He nodded a little. "Sorry...I got a bit overwhelmed."

"We have no time to lose, sir. Our forces are surrounded, and we need orders? What should we do?"

He contemplated for a brief moment on what to do and then faced Janet.

"Load high-explosive. We're going to give these guys a poundin'!"

Janet smirked.

"On its way, sir!"

She took a high-explosive shell from the ammunition rack behind her and loaded it into the 120mm smoothbore gun.

"Gunner," Jork yelled. "FIRE!"

BANG!

KABOOM!

The building where the separatists are firing from violently shakes as it takes a direct hit to a load-bearing support pillar. The building begins to shake violently.

"It's collapsing," Janet shouted. "Holy shi—!"

The building collapses on itself, killing everyone inside it.

"Target destroyed," the tank gunner said.

"I want a status report, NOW!" General Kuiper barked on the radio.

"This is Jork. We've engaged and downed multiple hostiles. However, we've suffered multiple casualties. We've lost three APCs trying to defend the carpark."

"Understood. MEDEVAC has arrived and a QRF will be en route to secure the area. Can you and the tank forces make it to the objective?"

"Yessir. We'll be on the move shortly."

Jork leads the two other tanks and a detachment of Tirfyngian special forces units to Moensenn City Hall, where Tirza Hoffmann is being held.

Some time later...

Tirfyngian War Hero and V-Streamer Saves The Day—Tampere Crisis Over

Six hours ago, brave soldiers Eula Laurentius and Per Albin Jork braved terrorist fire and rocket-propelled grenades to save the imprisoned President Tirza Hoffmann from the clutches of Sven Oelhaffen, self-declared Prince of the secessionist county of Tampere.

Laurentius and Jork escorted a group of APCs full of Tirfyngian special forces units to the Moensenn City Hall to facilitate the safe extraction of President Hoffmann. Things went awry when terrorists attacked, destroying three APCs (one of which was carrying a group of AGO operatives). Despite this, they pressed on to the Moensenn City Hall with just a handful of special forces units left willing to fight. With the odds stacked against them, Jork wasted no time directing his forces in securing the president. With his tank providing supporting fire, KST MARSOC soldiers breached the City Hall and killed at least two dozen combatants—one of which was an unfortunate Sven Oelhaffen armed with a revolver.

After securing the building, they found Hoffmann tied to a chair in the Mayor's Office. When she was found, her face had a few visible marks due to torture, but for the most part she was fine.

Citizens all over Tirfyng are partying hard in celebration for such a successful operation. The reinstated President Hoffmann declared that today is "Deliverance Day" in honor of Operation Deliverance.

Peste 2088 Vista Festival finally ends after 10 months

Stefan Amanar, two-time GASCAR world champion and veteran of the sport, is winding down his racing career, but he is far from kicking his feet up in retirement. Amanar is a strong believer in the power, freedom, and connectivity that automobiles offer, and has made that point abundantly clear. And while he thinks most everyone should have a car, he also loves a certain subset of car owners; car enthusiasts. Amanar is also a huge music buff, and to this end, he thought he'd combine his four favorite things- racing, car enthusiasts, music, and a good time.

So, he created the Vista festival, a celebration of music, cars, and motor racing. The premise is simple; people would come to the festival, admire the cars, listen to good music, and eat/drink good food/drinks, and just have a good time, and they could buy tickets to get access to the more exclusive parts of the festival, events, or concerts. But people could also register their cars and compete in the festival's racing series. The way it worked is that 2,000 people could sign up (first come first serve), and compete in 8 rounds over the course of the festival's planned two months, with each round having progressively less and less races. The goal of each driver was to compete in as many of the round's races as possible and score the most points in each race. After each round ended, half of the driver's with the least points would be eliminated, with 2,000 starting round one and 8 starting round eight, the finale.

Now, Amanar had a good deal of support from friends and family and investors willing to foot some of the bill, but not a lot of towns wanted fast cars and loud music for two months straight, but Amanar found a group of towns out in rural Peste willing to host his festival, which Amanar was delighted by because these towns- Kattleson, Cerstrigs, and Gladmont- were located in one of the most scenic locations in central Zambet Fata, with the soring Spiel mountains nearby east, the Stejar plains stretching to the west, the Redsprald hot springs to the north, and Aska Desert in the south.

And so, Amanar's festival commenced in June of 2088 as the Peste 2088 Vista Festival, since all of the towns were located in the state of Peste. Various racers, celebrities, and music groups showed up throughout the festival, with 48 events, concerts, and everything in-between being held. In total, Amanar estimates 2.6 million people showed up throughout the two months, with pretty much all of them buying tickets to one event or the other, with the most popular unsurprisingly being the Round 8 Final, where Theodor Gabor won the Vista Crown in his upgraded 2062 Scusi G50.

The event was such a success that the towns and guests petitioned Amanar to prolong the festival, which he did until December, since the towns are close enough to the desert they only had to worry about rain and not the usual snowstorms that Zambet Fata gets in the winter. The festival saw 56 different car brands and guests from 12 different nations. The Vista festival would like to clarify that the cars that participated in the festival were not affiliated with their respective companies, and guests came to the festival on their own volition.

December came and went and the party kept going even though the events were now over, and by March people were partied out, and Amanar declared the festival officially over. Overall, Amanar considered the festival a big success, and plans on hosting another one in 2090, hopefully with official sponsors and maybe even direct involvement from auto manufactures.

Forested Foray

As part of Azaltan's foray with the shortarm of Neutrality, an interesting proposition had come up while in conversation with a couple of other heads of international leadership. The world does continue to turn, but it would be terrible to face some kind of burnout. President Tims is now facing his last year or so in office, and despite there being no law that prevents him from doing so has made it his intention to go into political semi-retirement after having given 12 years of his life to the highest executive office in the land. As such, he has decided to make what will probably be his last attempt at international bridgebuilding. Group phone calls, chats through translators, lots of talks and planning within the wider circles within the relative capital. Eventually, a plan came into fruition. A nice trip to the Timberline, briefly away from all the worldly worries that make one prematurely grey. Some background checking was completed, and some quick crash courses were arranged. As such, with everything planned to the best ability of all three itinerary teams, two planes left Dziva Matonga International and Pepper City International Airports while light on the load: only the leaders, necessary aides, and the minimum security staff.

It was a day of fairly nice weather when they arrived at Champala International, Ms. Ozmra and Mr. Coghlan (and staff) were ferried briefly away to the Capital Block to briefly meet with Mr. Tims, there was a brief, light meal and meeting before the three (and their staff) again left for Champala International, and boarded a smaller aircraft to head to the regional airfield in the little micropolis of Timberlin, often regarded as the hub of the much more sparsely populated Timberline Region. From there, they gathered into vehicles and began the drive into the Timberline. Due to the circumstances, there were few photos taken of the entire experience, but what few photos that have been shared involve the three dressed in darker colors overlayed with orange. One in fact, involves Tims apparently having taken a small tumble into a stream (he was unhurt, as to our knowledge) with what we believe to have been a fishing experience for all of them with the other two apparently took with hidden laughter.

The last image we were able to get our hands on was of the three of them around a small table with plentiful food, emptying plates, and abundant conversation. We talked to some who had witnessed the event, and claims that they were treated to the scenes of the three leaders attempting to clean and prepare everything themselves (of which it is said Ms. Ozmra's help was deeply appreciated), of which was a struggle for the less experienced but of course it was the effort that made it all that much better when they finally got to enjoy it all, of which locally grown vegetables were also included. This meal was shared by the three and the small entourage during which the atmosphere appears to have been incredibly bright; after which the rest of the evening was spent just telling stories and whatever tales came to mind, between the three of them and their aids and security. They then retired for the night, before heading back to Champala International after their time of successful relationship building, where Tims saw both world leaders off back to their home countries.

"A Jaunt in Jaliki": Randomizer Rampage

With the Stejar match having gone down as the first three team Panzerfahren match in Tierran histiory, many were wondering how it could be topped. When the invites went out to Muran State College of Zambet Fata and Hart Academy of Azaltan, both teams believed this to be a normal match. War machines were prepped for transport, the teams were given a short crash course in the local terrain, and they were on their way. Identically to the last three team match, only light tanks were allowed to compete.

The match was set to take place in the Jaliki province, an area of Chinern known for its forests. It is distinctly not tanking terrain, and that is why the area is chosen. A major component of the sport of Panzerfahren is endurance and planning on the fly. As is normal for a match of this magnitude, the match had a three hour limit and played by festival rules.

Upon arrival to Dziva Matonga International, the participants were boarded onto buses for the three hour drive to Jaliki. Once there, they were given accommodations at a local hotel. They were gathered in the hotel's ballroom, where they expected to hear the rules and be given maps. Instead, they were treated to a surprise. The teams would be randomized, meaning that each team would be made of participants of each nation. The teams would be labeled Red, Green, and White after the colors of the Chinernian flag. The teams were as follows.

Team Red, led by Chinern's Sankofa University: 2 x Legionnaires, 6 x LRT Mk. V, 1 x Maresal, 4 x LRT Mk. II, 2 x Chinernian Cruiser Mk. III, 3 x ZF PT-5, 1 x ZF PT-7, 1 x ZF R-37.
Team Green, led by Zambet Fata's Muran State College: 2 x ZF PT-5, 3 x LRT Mk. V, 3 x LRT Mk. II, 6 x Legionnaires, 2 x ZF R-37, 2 x Cruiser Mk. III, 1 x PT-7, 1 x LRT
Team White, lead by Azaltan's Hart Academy: 7 x Legionnaires, 1 x Cruiser Mk. III, 1 x LRT Mk. II, 3 x LRT Mk. V, 2 x PT-7, 3 x PT-5, 1 x R-37, 2 x Maresal

After the conclusion of the match, the teams returned to the hotel for a well deserved rest and idle chatter. The next day, each of the captains of the teams gave a speech about tanks, camraderie, and teamwork.

The Road to '90
Greetings everyone, today marks a different kind of experiment for us at the Champalan Championship. As you can tell, you can see us on camera as we experiment with a more live format for the news. I'm Stanton Hearst, you probably know me as one of many journalists who make the physical and online newspaper trudge ever onwards. I ask that you bear with me while we work through this experiment together.

As with many democratic forms of government, a fact of life is the elections in which the people partake, and we here at the Champion are here to help you get an understanding on the process that takes place. First of all, the parties of the nation have undergone another reshuffle after also reshuffling in 2084. The Reformation Party, the one hit wonder that propelled Alary Todd to the presidency in 2048, has announced that tense negotiations with the National Unity Party has seen the party officially dissolve and get absorbed into the NUP, furthering the reach and base of the dominate party in the nation.

The Alliance for Labor and Progress has announced that it shall stay together for this election as the Social Revolutionaries, Revolutionary Unionists and Maximists deciding on their candidate yet again. However, the fight to stay together was publicized as the right wing of the Maximists were agitating to leave the alliance and found their own political party, however negotiations were successful.

This, in turn, now brings us to the exciting part of today's show that you are probably waiting for: the candidates for the parties.

Due to Eric Tims deciding not to attempt three terms, the NUP is coming off strong years of NUP or NUP-aligned politics in the nation since 2018; give or take the 23 years of Naval Rule. In order to keep the streak going, the NUP has brought out the big guns by naming a member of the famous Hart Dynasty as their nominee. Ana Hart, great-granddaughter of National Unity president Sadie Hart (2030-2036) and indirect descendant of of both Tumnus & Allie Hart, is attempting to bring the "Main Street" Faction of back into national prominence due to the near domination of the "Freedom" Faction of the party now informally known as "Kothittes".

However, several years of this NUP prominences has led to a massive rally within the People's Union, who despite being the second largest party in the nation have been shut out of the Presidential Chair for more than a century. They have come back into the game swinging, nominating Christie Ford who had been one of the nominees back in 2084. Ford, a young up-and-coming lass from the party's "Congressional" Faction, has been seeking to align the party with it's older ideals and sliding towards more populist ideals.

This leaves our newest contenders the Alliance for Labor and Progress. The convention was again contentious just as it was in '84. However not only the party was not only much more cohesive, but the usually hostile parties also seem to be getting along much better. The Social Revolutionary candidate Tom Bern was agreed upon by all three parties. The Social Revolutionaries are considered the most moderate out of the three-party alliance, and it is believed the their strange strand of "gentle populism" is to take center stage of their platform, though as an alliance we've yet to see what the other two parties shall contribute.

And that is all from us here at the Champion. I, Stanton Hearst, and all others here at the champion: from behind the camera to tirelessly working behind the camera, in our boardrooms, and out out in the field; we thank you for your patience for this experiment, and bid you all a safe rest of your day.

Tree burns down following national barbecue party

“It was my favourite tree, I’ve known it since I was 5” stated leader of the barbecue party, Caitlin Druimein. This has been a national tragedy as the tree was planted in 1967 to commemorate Kenkirk’s effort to make the environment better. In other news, Kenkirk has officially passed 100 years of age! To celebrate, the Council will pay for 20% of all purchases made for the next 3 days. Today Kenkirk also had it’s first citizen pass 150 years of age, and they will receive a 50% off all purchases made and will receive £100.000.

Diplomatic Relations Established With Kenkirk

A resolution in Parliament was passed today regarding establishing diplomatic relations with the relatively small but promising nation of Kenkirk. Resolution 12,404—formally titled "An Act of Friendship and Goodwill With The Community of Kenkirk"—passed with the majority vote in the Senate by 168 votes versus 42. An embassy is to be constructed in Kenkirk's capital city within the coming months, but diplomatic staff have already been appointed by President Hoffmann herself.

Tax Code "Revamp:" Blessing or Curse?

A series of new executive orders signed by President Hoffmann in tandem with new resolutions being approved by Parliament promise to overhaul the 200-year-old tax code of Tirfyng, which has always prioritized the rich and working class and their incomes while providing generous grants and tax breaks to the much less fortunate masses. In accordance with popular demand by the NPP, Tirza Hoffmann promised to overhaul the tax code to levy fair and just rates for everyone, regardless of their income. With this tax code "revamp" in place by the coming days, President Hoffmann and the NPP promises not only fair rates but also lower ones and guaranteed tax breaks for the rich and middle class. Furthermore, several types of taxes are to be either lowered in rate or completely removed.

Mainstream political commentators agree that the tax code restructuring is beneficial all around, but right-wing conservatives argue that doing such a thing may endanger Tirfyng's corporate welfare initiatives. However, Janus Hesskler, the new CEO of Food Saver Inc, says that the time for corporate welfare and business subsidization is passing away quickly.

"Business subsidization helped elevate Tirfyng from an economically isolated rock to a secondary power in Namor," Hesskler comments. "However, our businesses need no further help from the government. We are big enough to handle our own affairs, even in times of turmoil. Businesses must learn to prosper without training wheels from the government, lest they fall over to the sidewalk and sit there as failures. We must move on from corporate welfare and focus on the true issue here: taxes. Lowering taxes across the board means more income, and more income means more money to spend on products. We can all see where this is going, so it's a no-brainer to be honest."

The tax code changes will be implemented within three to four days time.

Tirfyngian Air Force Adopts New Homegrown Multi-Role Interceptor

At the recent National Air Exposition 2091, Baur and Voss (formerly Tirfyngian Aircraft Corporation) presented the most cutting edge military combat aircraft in Tirfyngian history—the F-1 Taipan (nicknamed Bliksemschicht—"thunderbolt"). The Taipan represents the best of Tirfyng's engineering prowess, aided by over 213 consultants from 50 different International Union companies and organizations, both federal and public.

At the cost of just over 79 million guildings, the Taipan boasts a myriad of high-tech features. Its sleek, elegant body is made from a refined titanium-molybdenum steel alloy, which offers enormous amounts of strength whilst also being relatively lightweight. The fighter's serpentine chrome-lined nose houses a set of delicately crafted electronics, which include an EA-221 "Surtr" AESA radar module, an EA-257 "Adnachiel" distributed aperture system, a EA-209 "Madrigal" electronic warfare system, a Rim Billiton RB-103 Savage electro-optical targeting system (EOTS), and finally a Rhein Electronics RE-777 "Magallan" CNI (communications, navigation, and identification) suite. A state-of-the-art Anderson A-113 Generation VI computer provides the necessary processing power to facilitate these electronics whilst also running calculations with battlefield data in fractions of a second. Data gleaned from outside Rim Billiton RB-090 multispectral sensors allows the onboard computer to inform the pilot of enemy positions, weather conditions, weapon statistics, and combat performance in real-time. The Taipan is powered by two Kazimierz Ka 266 "Nearl" turbojet engines which boast a combined 382 kN (86,000 lbf) of thrust, allowing it to achieve a maximum speed of Mach 1.9 (1,457.81 miles per hour or 2,346.12 kilometers per hour). The Nearl turbofans also offer supercruise capability, allowing the Taipan to move at supersonic speeds consistently without the assistance of afterburners. The Taipan is also armed with two Waffenfabrik Nationale Herstal FN-2871 "Cutter" six-barreled 25mm cannons with a fire rate of 3,000 to 6,000 rounds per minute and has room for multiple different payloads depending on the mission. Some of these new payloads include the MAA-4X "Skyfire" and MAA-5 Quick Manuever Air to Air Missile "Blaze."

Baur and Voss expects the Taipan to be in serial production in four months' time. The Air Force has agreed on a 7.8 billion guilding contract to purchase 100 Taipans for its fleet.

And the winner is...
Ah, good evening everyone. I bid you welcome to the latest episode of the Champion's experimental live and accessible news format. I, as always, am Stanton Hearst as of the last time I checked. For the past several days the good men and women volunteers have spent hours of each day counting and double checking all the regional vote counts. As seen here, also live, to my left we have the Azaltanian tradition of joint election observation of the last few election results. We've doubled checked and our three candidates are receiving updates at the speed that we are, so I can definitely tell you that we are in the final stretch. In fact, forget out counter let's just focus in on the candidates. Can you enlarge that Arc? There we go.

As you can see, Azaltan's tradition of gathering all candidates together to watch the final countdown is undertaken once again this year... although, it does appear that Miss Ford appears to be trying not to doze off. Can't blame her, it's late for all of us being kept awake by all the excitement, but Hart and Bern will ensure she's fully up for the finale as we've got just a few more spots to come in and be counted. I hope the people of Azaltan are excited, for I sure am. Whether you align with the NUP and wish to continue the streak of dominance or speak on behalf of either the ALP or the PU wishing to claim the Presidency for the first time in a long time, every one is one the edge of their seats as we have what will probably be one of the tightest races we've ever seen. There we go! The bar graph and numeral counters are shifting once again, will anyone break the winner's threshold? We haven't had an actual disputed election since 1964, and that took almost a year to solve with the appointment of a nonpartisan candidate. It looks like it'll be close but will any of them break the threshold...?

... and Ana Hart gently shakes her compatriot awake for handshakes and hugs as a group of slightly groggy and excited candidates congratulate Christie Ford on her hard fought victory! Miss Ford, now the incoming President. While her victory isn't exactly historic except for a single point, that doesn't mean that she isn't carrying a legacy upon her shoulders.

Christie Ford is, for example, the fifth woman to hold the position of President of Azaltan since the "in force" date of the Azaltanian Constitution; building on the footsteps of Allie Hart (1942-1946, NUP), Ruth Harpy (1982-1988, SR), "Penny" Wentz (1988-2000, NUP), and Sadie Hart (2030-2036, NUP). She is also the first non-conservative leaning politician since the end of Arn Oldman's term in 2018. She is also the first PU candidate to be president since the 1940s! ... and ah, I've been told what we're seeing right now is the phone call of congratulations from President Tims. You can go ahead and put that back to normal size there, Arc.

Well, if that wasn't simultaneously exciting and heartwarming, I'm afraid I don't know what is. This is, as you probably are aware of by now, Stanton Hearst here with the Champion, Live! Now many of you are probably preparing to sleep after a long day and pretty long night, but if you can bear with a bit longer, we'll have some post election coverage live on air after this break!

Queen Jajka Recovers From Illness - Names Official Successor

Queen Jajka I made her first public appearance in over four months to officially open the 460th Bonple Congress last night. She had came down with a bad lung infection over New Years, made worse by her chronic bronchitis, which has plagued her for most of her life. Despite this, she looked as healthy as any monarch her age can be, but it has been a watershed moment in Bonple. Both the Bonple people, the Congress, and Jajka herself realize that she is nearing the end of her reign, and though Toraism and Republicanism have been on the rise in Bonple, they are still small fractions of the Bonple populace, with many still supporting the monachy. And so, the time to think of a Bonple without Jajka has come.

Jajka has ruled Bonple, either directly or indirectly, for 58 years, and so is no stranger to royal inheritance laws. Bonple royal inheritance laws are such that the monarch's issue must agree to disturb up the monarch's titles, properties, etc., usually with the throne going to the issue the monarchy selected.

Jajka has an issue of two; Alex and Sunna of St. Grouse. Alex has, unfortunately, been missing since 2036, after Jajka's military defeat in the 2033 Bonple War of Succession, and has been presumed dead every since. Despite extensive searches both domestic and worldwide, no trace of Alex has been found, and Jajka has constantly refused to declare him dead in the crowns eyes, and constantly kept searching for him like any mother would. But seeing the issue that having a missing person be part of her inheritance, especially when the throne of Bonple is a stake, she officially appeared before the Bonple Congress and declared that Alex is, officially, "gone", in the crown's eyes. Though she will continue the search unofficially, in the Bonple crowns eyes, the only remaining issue to Jajka is Sunna, her only daughter and current Kaiserin of Diemetsa.

And so, Jajka officially declared before the Bonple Congress that Sunna, Crown Princess of Bonple, Duchess of St. Grouse, and Kaiserin of Diemetsa, as her sole official legal heir to the title of monarchy of Bonple. The news was, predictably, met with a round of applause by the Bonple Congress, as now, the future of Bonple is secured from any future potential war of succession.

Long live the Queen and the Crown Princess!

President Hoffmann Plans Extravagant Military Parade For This Year's Armed Forces Day

For at least 150 years, Tirfyng has not held a single military parade, with the last one being in 1940 to celebrate the expansion of the Landleger itself. Now, President Hoffmann plans to bring back this old tradition by celebrating Armed Forces Day with the largest parade in the history of Tirfyng.

The parade will consist of at least 500 main battle tanks, 1000 armored personnel carriers, another 1000 miscellaneous armored vehicles supported by 1500 light utility vehicles and 500 trucks, the battleships Gleipnir and Jormungandr, 10 F-1 Taipan fighters, 10 Rooivalk attack helicopters, and over 200 thousand soldiers.

Bowery Corp plans to livestream the parade while also including several of its Muse Production virtual streamers in the parade's march. Eula Laurentius is slated to be the keynote speaker of the parade, while Barbara Watt and Rexas Batumi are in charge of commentating the entire event. Batumi is also designing several floats for the parade so auxiliary forces may participate in the march.

Massive Terrorist Plot Foiled

Today, over two thousand members of the far-right domestic terrorist extremist group De Rechterhaand (The Right Hand) attempted to conduct a series of assassinations, mass murders, and sabotaging of Tirfyngian businesses that employ "unwanted" people with an emphasis on diversity and equality. These attacks are part of the group's Operation Adlersdaag (Eagle Day), a ploy dedicated in "purifying" Tirfyng of "undesirables." They even targeted Muse Production talents for their "sinful debauchery."

However, the attacks, which were supposed to happen en masse this morning, failed to materialize. What happened?

It was found out today that the leader of De Rechterhaand, Jens Staalworth, was killed in his "keynote attack" at a Szekler factory in Vallonia. Apparently, Jens and fifty other terrorists went to the Fegyver és Gépgyár Szekleryorszag (FGS) firearms manufacturing center in Szeklerburg to occupy the building, kill all of the workers (all of which are Szeklers, Palanchean refugees or descendants of Palancheans living in Tirfyng), and to "kick off" Operation Adlershaag once it was over. However, when Jens and his lackeys stepped inside the factory to take the workers hostages, the workers used their newly-made firearms (and ammunition) to dispatch all fifty-one terrorists. Jens and thirty-eight other terrorists were killed, seven were wounded, and four surrendered. The seven wounded terrorists were sent to the hospital before being arrested by police.

In the wake of this humiliating failure, De Rechterhaand disbanded as a whole, but not before sixteen hundred members were arrested by police when an Calcaterran hacker revealed their exact home addresses to the Ministry of Internal Security.

Many right-wingers, especially far-right supporters, are lamenting about the whole fiasco on social media. As one right-wing supporter called it, today is a day of great disappointment. It is predicted by many political analysts that today's debacle may have ended the misery of the dying right and far-right movements in Tirfyng.

Losing to Win

Today the 8th Ring Court of the Imperial Court handed down a number of rulings in the Case of Ikhiri Jawdogz owner Maroviv Zelbaria. Last May, Zelbaria was charged with 3 counts of Investment mismanagement, 4 counts of fraud, 1 count of Conspiracy, and a charge of contract violation after being sued by the City of Ikhiri and the investors of the Jawdogz Franchise.

7 years ago Zelbaria bought the team when it was in Division 2 of the Professional Smashball League by acquiring 40% of the team's value, giving him primary control. The Prosecution then alleged that Zelbaria purposefully sold the team's best players to relegate them into Divison 3 and continue to sell the team's valuable draft choices causing the teams to value to drop dramatically, forcing many of the other team's investors to sell their shares to Zelbaria. Then after acquiring around 70% of the teams ownership value when combined with the stocks acquired by Zelbaria's representatives posing as other investors, he then engaged in a campaign of conspiracy to devalue Pro Free agents using phony health reports he paid League doctors to create. This, alongside direct payments to other owners to purposefully gave these players lowball offers, forced high-level players such as Matt Nebrow and Kenshi Pickers to sign with the Jawdogz at artificially low contracts.

The City of Ikhiri then also alleges that Zelbaria further devalued his team and forced out investors by resigning his lease on the aging current Jawdogz stadium instead of requesting a new stadium or renovation to the current stadium. However, including in that contract conditions that would give him a $3 billion Ulas in public funds if the Jawdogz quickly became a Division 1 team. That sum would the 2nd most ever granted to any professional team in Ulutor for the building of a new stadium.

This combined with Zelbaria's conspiracy to defraud Pro Free Agents led to the Teams value skyrocketing after the Jawdogz quickly became a competitor thanks to their new players. Last year the Dogz finally made it to Divison 1 for the 1st time in 79 years forcing the city to give the team $3 billion in funds that were promised. Zelbaria then had his representatives sell their stocks, some were sold to him at artificially low prices on, and a large portion of the revenue on others were given straight to him so that he could acquire more of the franchise and then attempt to sell the team in a quick pump and dump scheme. Zelbaria is estimated to have profited $2.6 billion Ulas from the scheme before prosecutors froze his assets before he sold the team.

The court found Zelbaria guilty on all counts after 1 year and 6 months of deliberation and trial. After giving the stadium funding back to the city he has been ordered to issue $600 million in payounts, among that sum is $400 million for investors but the other $200 million is for Free Agents signed during his tenure as owner.

While few are concerned about the fate of Mr. Zelbaria, the Court has submitted terms to the Professional Smashball League because of the case, either demote the Jawdogz back to Divison 3 or pay the city and investors $4 billion dollars combined. If the league demotes the team it will mark the 3rd time that the Imperial Court has forced the league to restructure, although admittedly less than when the Court forced the league to adopt the Division system in 2006. Many fans have expressed discontent with the league and its owners for the continued widespread corruption. This scandal coming after last year's infamous World championship where the Bolivant Armada defeated the Arusha Lords 34-29 after 17 penalties were called on the Lords in the 4th quarter with 8 on what would have been Lord scoring plays. The Imperial court's 4th ring judge has said he will begin a wide probe into the league concerning widescale corruption and cheating across the League.

Nuclear Disaster: Accident Spreads Radioactive Cloud, Partial Core Meltdown Suspected, Deemed "Not Threatening"

Nuclear energy is the second leading energy producer in Malarsia. While hydropower dominates the energy sector, nuclear power is a growing sector used to fuel Malarsia's growing futuristic urban areas and has seen a skyrocket in usage, with twenty-five new nuclear reactors being built in the last five years alone, and older ones being refitted to serve the nation's new power demands.

These nuclear power plants, and nuclear power in general, are not dominated by monopolies like the rest of the Malarsian economy. Most nuclear companies own less than five plants, and some even own only one. Nonetheless, three companies have been buying out reactors and building new ones, likely trying to establish their own monopoly and gain a spot on The Trust. These three companies are Electric Aver, Deher Cycle, and Fomet Energy.

Electric Aver has been the most aggressive, and owns nineteen reactors- five it built itself, fourteen it purchased then refit. One facility, called the Vanguard Atomic Energy Production and Research Facility, has a 2300 MWe reactor, the most powerful and advanced reactor in Malarsia. Considering the situation in Malarsia as well, it is also the most heavily guarded, both physically and cyberly. Although the plant was opened after running way over budget and after being delayed 12 years, the reactor was the envy of the world, its efficiency nearly unmatched, and its sheer energy output powered the new, futuristic cities The Trust had built.

But there were serious design flaws with the reactor; it was extremely unstable, required a lot of skilled operators, and produced a lot of waste. But these problems were swept under the rug in favor of propaganda about the reactor's sheer power powering the new society of Malarsia, but scientists working at the plant had serious concerns about the safety of the reactor, concerns that would be realized.

A couple of days ago, during the night shift, the energy output of the reactor plummeted, causing concern among the scientists and operators, leading to an emergency protocol being activated. After a chip that allowed the operators to bypass all safety restrictions was inserted into the computer, the scientists went to work diagnosing the problem. After maybe finding the problem, the scientists determined that it was a problem with the connections to and from the reactor and the computers, and sent workers down to repair the issue. After entering the basement below the reactor room, however, the workers found it was bleeding radioactive water, causing an emergency to be declared. Scientists attempted to fix the issue, but with their connection to the reactor being severed, there was little they could do. As the reactor bled water, the material within began to overheat, causing a meltdown. Workers suited up to go into the hot zone to repair the reactor, which they were able to do, but at a cost of seven lives.

Electric Aver declared the disaster over soon after, and the reactor was scrammed so that no more reactions could occur. The incident was deemed a 6 out of 7 on the International Nuclear Event Scale, with a serious impact on people and the environment, though Electric Aver declared that any impact from the event is being "taken care of", and has sealed the area off to the public with the help of KERPTA.

Additionally, KERPTA and Electric Aver are investigating whether or not the incident was a result of terrorist attacks by Leftists operating in the bayous, but many scientists are doubtful of this and claim the disaster was a result of poor reactor design. It goes without saying that the incident has shaken trust in not only Electric Aver, but also in nuclear energy among members of The Trust. KERPTA in particular is doubtful of the potential of nuclear energy now, meaning it is now likely that hydropower will retain its dominance in the energy sector.

Politburo Elects new Premier; Questions Remain Over Election Error

Millions of Sozkanans turned on their TVs and refreshed government websites in anticipation on who Sozkana’s new premier was going to be. It has been a hard and long year for the government, with the original election for premier set to take place back in May, the Politburo decided to postpone the election to deal with the ongoing election crisis. For those unaware, the Supreme Workers’ Council elections were compromised after a computer failure invalidated the results of roughly half of the elections, with the computers showing each candidate in each election having won 999,999,999 votes. The headache of having to run new elections, rescheduling the entire government’s plans, and trying to find what caused the error meant long hours in the office for many politicians, least of all the Politburo. Thankfully the error did not affect the Politburo elections, so the crisis at least had strong leadership to guide the government.

Though the second elections went off without any major incidents, the question of what caused the error remains, and it is for this reason why the Politburo postponed their election for premier until now. And as the Politburo gathered for a meeting to elect the premier, a fire broke out in the next building over, prompting the meeting to be called off before it could begin out of safety concerns. Finally, though, the Politburo was able to conviene and elect a new premier late last night.

The two candidates for premier were Kozlov, a veteran and seasoned politician in the Supreme Workers’ Council elected into the Politburo in 2087, and the incumbent Artemo, also a veteran who has led Sozkana as premier since 2077. Artemo has preferred the status quo over anything else, and so while Sozkana has been safe under his leadership, it has not exactly prospered either, domestically or internationally. With that in mind, the Politburo elected Kozlov as the new premier five to two over Artemo. While Artemo conceded the election and said that had no plans to step down from the Politburo, saying he respects Kozlov and the others and believes he can work together with them to improve Sozkana, he did say he was “disappointed” by the election. Kozlov thanked Artemo for his service as premier in his speech given a couple hours after the election to the Sozkanan public, saying he looks forward to working with him in the future.

Also in his speech, Kozlov said his first priority would be to find out what caused the election error, saying "Democracy is core to Toraism, without it, we have nothing. Any threats to that democracy need to be fought, we will get to the bottom of this." Other topics included in his speech include continuing Sozkana's military modernization campaign, further cooperation with Toraist parties all over the world, housing improvements, greater roles for the labor unions in the economy, and education reform.

To learn more about Kozlov and other members of the Politburo, visit Sozkana's factbook "The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Toraist Party of Sozkana".

GASCAR News Center

The 2092 GASCAR World Cup Series has concluded. It was the 38th season of the professional series, with the season starting with the Baytona 500 on February 20th, and ending with the Wentz 400 on November 12th.

Prelude
Several manufacturers made changes to their cars before the season; Kistler made slight aerodynamic changes to their cars bodies, Ettlinger made slight modifications to their engine's cooling, and Calovac made modifications to their car's chassis design. Two new drivers entered the field; Klaus Nehmenis replaced Crocetta Corsetti in the #4 car after Corsetti's retirement. Finn Buchman replaced Eckart Schott in the #38 car after Schott was let go by the team.

Season
Calovac started out the season strong, winning both qualifying races for the Baytona 500 with Costiniu capturing the victory in the 500. The second race of the season would be marred by a horrific looking crash which sent Clerisseau into the fence, knocking him out of commission for most of the season. Kistler cars powered Tony Maxwell to victory at Trover, but the cars faltered to the Huicks and Katimoses during the first international swing. The second Alabackian swing was a slugfest between different manufacturers, but the second international swing saw the Kistlers, Cehves, and Ettlingers falter to the Huicks and Katimoses, with Costiniu's leading Calovac's charge to the championship. But Makaro, lead driver for Huick, was leading the points by a pretty safe margin on her "Drive for Five" to claim her fifth championship.

But her Drive for Five would be derailed after a DNF at Calcaterra, allowing Costiniu to sneak up on her points lead. Costiniu went on a tear, winning at Calcaterra and Conmerica, closing the points gap with Makaro by 15 points. At Azaltan, Costiniu wheeled her Calovac to a victory, claiming the championship over Makaro by five points. It was Costiniu's first championship, Calovac's first, and Martinescu-Maniu Motorsports' second.

Laurentiu Oprea won the GASCAR All-Star Race, Finn Buchman won the Rookie of the Year award, and Vik Dorn won the Most Popular Driver award.

Other Stories
Davy Clerisseau narrowly avoided serious injury in the second race of the season at Palm Mile. After Baldur Huwyler's engine blew up in turn four, spinning oil over the track and colliding with Alex Bach, Clerisseau spun in the oil before GASCAR could wave the yellow flag. Unable to recover the car, it caught air after flying off of the dirt in the infield created by Huwyler and Bach's crash; he flew over Bach's car into the catchfence, and while the fence held preventing the car from going into the grandstands, Clerisseau was seriously injured in the crash and had to take most of the early season off, returning nine races later at the There's No Place Like Skahyahn 400. He would go onto win at Glenigrad later in the season. As a result of the crash and his absence, he tapped some old racers to drive his car in his place, which saw the return of Grace Trustmanster and Stefan Anamar to the track for a few races. Nonetheless, Clerisseau made a full recovery.

Finn Buchman automatically won the Rookie of the Year award over Klaus Nehmenis by wheeling his #38 machine to victory at the Termatt Inc 500 at Gallediga. The #38 car, owned by Juliper Racing, is often considered a backmarker car, often struggling to place above 30th. However, superspeedways like Gallediga offer smaller teams an opportunity to compete up front, as at superspeedways raw power gives way to drafting skill, where simple racing moves like passing are made much more complex, and timing is everything. Nehmenis and the #38 team took advantage of a late multi-car crash to claim the victory after a speedy pitstop put them in front of the pack.

GASCAR executives and officials met in Baytona, Alaback, to discuss the future of the GASCAR Truck Series. With decreasing money and increasing costs, the series has struggled financially with sponsorship and prize money, the latter often being low, prompting many teams to leave or downsize. As such, GASCAR officials have decided to cut seven races from the Truck Series, mostly international races to save teams cost. The Alabackian races cut were the Boxem Boats 200 at Trover and the G&B 250 at Gallediga. The five international races cut were the Coca 250 at Pine Tree (North Nebraska), the Osjil 150 at Mid-Austilla (Oliandiria), the National Technologies 200 at Ganvther (Skayahn), the Davide's Fine Cuisine 200 at Iron Cross (Diemetsa), and the Dalton Beer 150 at the Clayyard at Libertas (Calcaterra). GASCAR executives and officials declined when asked for further comment.

Telegraph Agency of Chinern (TAC) - Telegrafu Shirika ya Chinệrn

Monsoon season came especially hard this year, with extremely heavy rains all across Chinern. Luckily, due to local and regional governments having constructed levees and emergency evacuation plans, damage was kept to a minimum. The anti-flooding project enacted by the Presidium a few years ago got its first test. As of time of writing, the system has proven to reduce flooding levels by redirection. This monsoon season has also supplied the government with the data needed to improve the defenses.

The world is always changing, politically, physically, and socially. Locations change, the rationale, the objective. However, Chinern strives to always be on top. To that end, we look towards the friendly giant in the east: The People's Republic of Sozkana. Sozkana and Chinern have historically had cordial relations due to both nations having Toraist governments and being in the Sixth Internationale. Since the construction of Pier 54 by Sozkana, Senora, and Chinern, military cooperation between the Toraist Republic and the People's Republic has grown ever closer. This is the culmination of that friendship: Operation People's Shield. Various units of the Chinernian Armed Forces were noted as having arrived in Sozkana for military exercises. The most prominent of these were the deployment of the 038th Special Task Battalion (Panther's Teeth) to train with Sozkanan Spetsnaz. Also noteworthy was the heavy Chinernian Air Force presence during the exercise. Formations of Super Skyflares and ChU-41Us were the most visible, but other heavier unnamed aircraft were also spotted.

Premier Alan Kuveli's long reign has now come to an end. Citing declining health from ulcerative colitis, he has stepped down to receive medical care and rehabilitation. Taking his place temporarily will be the General Secretary Omalayo Yejide. Yejide is known for being a Toraist hardliner. It is unknown when or if Alan Kuveli will return to politics, but as of now the nation can look forwards to the technical premiership of Omalayo Yejide.

Medieval Fortress Found During Interstate Construction!

With the first records of human civilization dating all the way back to 5000 BCE, Zambet Fata is bound to have some pieces of history that have yet to be uncovered. New artifacts are discovered almost everyday all around the nation, and though most major historical sites have already been discovered, given the sheer amount of time that civilization has existed in Zambet Fata, some are bound to yet be discovered.

One such site, which many thought lost to history, was the Rekse Castle. Constructed sometime in the 10th century, it was the home of the Cenamnt Clan of the Impus Empire, which ruled over much of south central Zambet Fata, near the borders with Bonple and Sozkana. Though not the leading clan, the Cenamnt did play a prominent role in the empire's politics, and sided with Empress Leta during the Impus split, later becoming a leading force in Luta's victory in the Impus civil war. Though after Traja's conquest of the Impus Empire the Cenamnt would see practical extinction, the clan remains an area of study in the larger Impus Empire field.

Many historians believed that Rekse Castle was destroyed in the Siege of Rekse Castle, where the castle's mighty defenses were humbled by Traja's forces, who razed the castle to the ground, or so many thought.

The expansion of the International Interstate System in Zambet Fata's south central area was desperately needed. The interstate's current infrastructure was beginning to crack, literally, under the increased pressure of international trade. And so, the Department of Transportation authorized an expansion of routes and supporting roads to help relieve some of the pressure. One of these supporting roads would connect the small cities of Malachi and Sepney, a move championed by both cities. Scouting and planning began in late July, with construction beginning in early August.

On August 11th, road teams uncovered an unusual tunnel after moving several tons of dirt from a hill. This tunnel prompted investigation by local authorities, who quickly halted work on the road. After finding what appeared to be a sword covered in rust, the authorities alerted the University of Apa at Sepney's history department and the Sepney Historical Society, who quickly descended on the site. They quickly discovered this tunnel was actually a secret evacuation tunnel that belonged to Rekse Castle, and after coming across what appeared to be some remains of the castle itself, they alerted the University of Apa system, which in turn alerted the Zambet Fatan Historical Association, the largest organization of historians in Zambet Fata.

The ZFHA successfully petitioned for the road to be diverted and for excavation of the site to begin. A team of medieval historians, students and personnel from the University of Apa and the University of Apa at Sepney, members of the Sepney Historical Society, as well as dedicated archaeologists, began work to bring the site to life. Professor Justin Merenda, head of the project, stated that, "Any discovery of a previously unfound castle is a big deal, I'd go as far as to call it a sensation. When we found out that they found a sword in the tunnel, we couldn't pass it up, so we gladly took on the challenge."

While the project is ongoing, the team has so far uncovered all of the tunnel and the walls of the castle, with work on uncovering the interior of the castle underway. So far, highlights of the project include the uncovering of a large break in the castle walls, likely caused during the siege, a complete set of horse armor, two semi-intact ballistae, a nearly complete tea set, as well as a chest of twenty rusty lances.

Work is ongoing, and those participating in the project are hopeful that more items can be found, and that the castle and the items and secrets it contains can help shed more light on this often neglected period of Zambet Fatan history.

Bomb rocks Zarwia as tensions mount in the Bonple, Debate Rages in Congress, Princess Sunna fights for the monarchy's influence

Though not the rulers of Bonple (that honor goes to the monarchy), the Bonple Congress plays an important role in the ruling of the country. Assembled every two years since 965, the Congress is made up of 500 Deputies which come from all walks of life. Some are elected, some are sent by their local governments, some are prominent politicians in other areas of the government invited to participate, while others receive invitations for a variety of reasons (prominent general, priest, administrator, etc.)

This year's congress, the 564th Bonple Congress, was not opened by Queen Jajka for the first time since 2040, as is tradition for the sitting monarch to do. Instead, Princess and Kaiserin Sunna opened the congress, marking the first time in over 100 years the sitting monarch did not open the congress. As Queen Jajka, though still in fair health, grows closer to the pearly gates, Princess Sunna has taken up many of her old duties in preparation for her rule. Whereas before she was too busy with her duties as Kaiserin of Diemetsa, the Princess has taken a leading role recently in Bonple politics, building influence and finding allies.

But Princess Sunna might also be doing this as a fight for the crown's survival, as some question if the monarchy's days are numbered. After Bonple's defeat in the South Stelin War, rising income inequality, and lack of political rights in some areas of Bonple that are standard in other parts of the world, many have grown skeptical of the monarchy. None are more direct in their criticism of the monarchy then Janusz Kurek (often shortened to "Jarek"), head of the United Workers' Party, who has led Bonple's left to victory after victory in elections. Jarek wants the monarchy ended, claiming that monarchy has no right being an institution of power, in any nation, in the 21st century, and that the people have the right to rule their own destinies, not an "elite family".

While many in Bonple agree the monarchy's powers should be limited, Jarek and his UWP also make many uneasy, with their far-left views which many have labeled Toraist. This is where National Union, a party led by Marcel Konopa, comes into play. They advocate for increased democracy within Bonple, for the Bonple Congress to be entirely elected, and for the monarchy's powers to be limited, with some even advocated a constitutional monarchy.

Currently, 106 Deputies align themselves with the UWP, 119 with National Union, and the other 275 Deputies either part of the pro-monarchy National Party of the Crown or independents, so debate rages on any issue that comes up in the Bonple Congress, with leading Deputies working 14 hour days almost every day since the Congress opened.

But while the Congress was in recess for the weekend (a tradition since its founding), members of the National Party of the Crown and National Union were meeting to hammer out a coalition against the UWP on the issue of customs reform when an armed assailant threw a grenade into the room, causing the members to dive for cover. Thankfully, nobody was seriously injured, but this issue received worldwide attention because a key figure was at this meeting: Princess Sunna.

The Bonple Special Forces, headed by General Kacper Pater (a rising politician in Bonple politics in his own right), led an investigation into the incident as Princess Sunna was cleaning house in the military for the incident. Princess Sunna wanted to sack General Pater, as the two have a history of fierce disagreement, with Princess Sunna, while being a strong believer in aristocracy, also believes in awarding those who serve the Bonple state dutifully, and in living a prim and proper life according to the social standards of the monarchy, which she enjoys. General Pater is the complete opposite; a lover of fast guns, fast cars, and fast women, he awards people who are good at their job regardless of their beliefs or social standing. Unfortunately for Princess Sunna, General Pater is extremely good at his job, and though the assailant and his co-conspiracies were killed in a gunfight with Bonple forces, Kaper's forces seized entire crates of guns and explosives and also tons of hard drives containing vital intelligence.

Princess Sunna and General Pater have, so far, set aside their differences to address the rising security threat in Bonple, which is on the agenda for the Bonple Congress later this month, where General Pater is expected to head an effort to secure more funding for the Bonple military. Regardless of the issue though, debate rages, so it remains to be seen what the Congress will decide and what Queen Jajka will sign off on.

GASCAR News Center

The 2093 GASCAR World Cup Series has concluded. It was the 39th season of the professional series, with the season starting with the Baytona 500 on February 20th, and ending with the Wentz 400 on November 12th.

Prelude
Every manufacturer made slight adjustments to their bodywork and roll cage in accordance with a new rule in that GASCAR created over the off season. The rule mandated all cars have an extra roll cage beam going across the bottom of the A and B pillars of the car, with GASCAR saying the rule was to improve driver safety in the event of a "high-speed T-bone".

One massive story over the off season was who was going to replace Baldur Huwyler in the #28 Trustmanster Racing Katimos. With Huwyler's retirement at the end of the 2092 season, Grace Trustmanster, current owner of the team, was faced with the prospect of finding a new driver for her car in a year where most veteran and experienced drivers already had contracts with other teams. However, this was not an issue for Trustmanster, as as soon as Huwyler announced his retirement Trustmanster was in talks with one driver in particular. That driver was Davy Clerisseau, who runs his own Katimos team that is in a technical alliance with Trustmanster Racing. Clerisseau loved racing for his own team, but couldn't pass up the opportunity Grace was giving him. So, Clerisseau signed to drive for Trustmanster, and tapped regional racing star and up and comer in the truck series, Arwin Bendel, to drive his #49 car.

This was the only driver change in the off season.

Season
Clerisseau burst onto the scene with his new team by winning the Baytona 500 in his first start with Trustmanster Racing, and he went on a tear in the first quarter of the season, winning four of the first six races. Clerisseau would give way to Sonina Makaro, however, who led Huick's charge to the points lead in the middle season. He'd come back with a 600 win, taking the points lead back, but Makaro would quickly take it back next week at the Roval.

Clerisseau's season would fall apart with a series of unfortunate accidents and DNFs in the latter half of the season, and the same fate would befall Makaro. The previous season's champion, Kalevi Costiniu, who's led Calovac's entry into GASCAR, was racking up Top 10s like they were going out of style, giving her a comfortable third place in the points. Jumping on Clerisseau's and Makaro's late season collapse, Costiniu pounced into action, getting top five after top five, and even racking up a win at the Clayyard 400. Costiniu would cruise off that win to her second championship. It was also Calovac's second, and Martinescu-Maniu Motorsports' third.

Tony Maxwell won the GASCAR All-Star Race, Arwin Bendel won the Rookie of the Year award, and Vik Dorn won the Most Popular Driver award.

Other Stories
Dernov Larion claimed a victory in Conmerica at the Callum Corp 500, breaking his 155 long race losing streak, which has lasted over five years. Larion has been one of the best drivers in Huick's lineup, racking up four championships in his career, making him one of the best drivers in GASCAR's history. However, Larion is getting up there in age, and his performance has declined as a result, and so he and his crew celebrated this win like it was his last, because it might be, even though he has no plans to retire.

Denis Mittermaier isn't the driver that many think of when it comes to Ettlinger, but Mittermaier rode vanguard in Ettlinger's ride this season. While Ettlinger's teams weren't bad, they were not good either, except for Mittermaier's, who was able to claim a ninth place points finish, with a win at the GASCAR All-Star Race open. Getting a top ten points finish with no points paying wins is an impressive feat, one that Mittermaier attributes to his new crew chief, Lucas Kruntzer. Kruntzer was the crew chief for Morem Sosco for a couple of years, but switched to Mittermaier's after Angor-Morton shook up their teams in the off season. So far, the Kruntzer-Mittermaier team looks good, but time will tell if they can build on this success.

Nadia Trauth had a solid season this year, and in this solid season arose an interesting factoid. She won three races this year, but this was also the third straight year she placed third in points at season's end. It would seem that Nadia's lucky number lately has been the number three.

Queen Jajka passes peacefully in sleep at Zarwia, Sunna, now Crown Princess at 57, to become Queen

The Bonple royal family issued a press statement naught but one hour ago announcing that Queen Jajka has passed in her sleep at 78, reportedly from a stroke, brought on by complications from hypertension, which was further compounded by her undergoing treatment for a fractured skull and concussion which resulted from her falling in her personal residence. Jajka is survived by her only surviving child, now Crown Princess Sunna, also Kaiserin of Diemetsa, and Sunna's husband, Kaiser Hans of Diemetsa.

The news of death, though still fresh in the news cycle, has been met with widespread mourning throughout both Bonple but also our compatriot states of Diemetsa and Kolanica, as well as fellow Sberrj-ruled states of Nedporen and Valirria, and Bonples all around the world. Many, though seeing Jajka as knocking on death's door, were shocked that it happened as soon as it did, as just yesterday Jajka was up and taking a walk around Zarwia, and appeared to be in good health. Nonetheless, doctors found no evidence of foul play in her passing.

The Bonple Congress, still in session, held a moment of silence upon the news of her passing, and then, following with tradition, awarded her her epithet, with "the Great" winning the vote handily. Several members, including General Kacper Pater and Marcel Konopa, also gave their condolences to Crown Princess Sunna, and gave speeches remembering Jajka the Great, praising her leadership and devotion to duty and success in building Bonple into the great power it is today, as well as praising her as an outstanding military leader and a more than capable monarch.

That sentiment is shared by many Bonples, but there are those, including Janusz Kurek, who view her differently. Though they acknowledge her as a great leader, they have also come to question some of her achievements, claiming it was the average person that allowed Jajka to accomplish many of the things she did. Kurek has also, in particular, been critical of her role during the South Stelin War and her failure to take action in removing radical nationalist elements from the government sooner, which he says would have prevented the war.

Nonetheless, many Bonple historians hold Jajka the Great in high regard, and the government has ordered all flags at half-mast for the rest of the week. Sunna will now take on the role of Crown Princess until her official coronation, which, along with Jajka's funeral, do not have a date set yet, though Sunna promised that both will occur soon and that the dates will be given as soon as possible.

The Queen is dead, long live the Queen!

Sixth International adopts new standardized military equipment: a new people's rifle?

As Sozkana and its international partners continue to meet the demands of defending toraism at home an abroad, the new Sozkanan Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff Mishin Yegoro, appointed by Premier Secretary Sharof Kozlov, decided that the Sixth International must standardize its equipment if it is to succeed in the future.

Sixth International forces learned unstandardized equipment brought trouble in battle the hard way in the South Stelin War, the Archipelago War, and the Palanchian Intervention, when soldiers from the same alliance were using guns of different calibers, construction, sights, velocity etc.; a Sozkanan gun and a Chinernian gun were two very different weapons, making cooperation on the battlefield extremely difficult.

But that changed earlier this week in Filo City, Chinern, as military representatives from Sozkana, Chinern, and Ossta gathered to design, submit, and test different weapons for adoption by all of the Sixth International. Senora, though not present at the conference, did submit a list of recommendations for firearms and some Black Army officers were present for some meetings virtually.

The goal of the summit was to have firearms that would meet the needs of all member nations militaries, with all agreeing that the firearms, particularly the assault/battle rifle, needed to be cheap, easy to use, easy to maintain, versatile, and decently accurate. With this in mind, the summit set out to find the perfect assault rifle, pistol, submachine gun, rocket launcher, and sniper rifle. Though certain elements of the firearms are kept secret, at least for now, we can share the final picks the summit made, which will be the new weapons of the Sixth International.

The KR-1 was selected as the standard assault rifle, named after its lead designer, Aminev Kirillo (Kirillo Rifle 1). Weighing in at roughly 8 pounds, its modular design enables users to change the caliber of the gun to 5.56mm or 7.62mm, the two most used cartridges in the world, depending on the circumstances and the user's needs. Simple and easy to repair or modify, the KR-1 will make a fine new "people's rifle".

The winning design for the submachine gun, the GD79, named after its Chinernian designer Giang Dieu, with it being his seventh design and firing a 9mm round. Featuring an integral suppressor and extensive modularity, yet simple, small, and lightweight, the GD79 was a fine choice.

Pistols, ever important, were also tested. The selection was whittled down to two designs, with the committee ultimately selecting the TT- 1. Designed by Tsvetkov Timofeye, it was selected for its versatility, allowing users to customize it for any use. Fully ambidextrous, compact, and lightweight, the TT-1 was everything the committee was looking for. Its reliability and smooth operation, however, won it the day over any of the other pistols, with one shooter describing the pistol as “smooth as butter in everything it does”. A civilian version is also planned to be produced for sporting and self-defense purposes.

As for the rocket launcher, it was the experience in recent wars that guided its development. The rocket launcher, called the Decmi-RL, (named after the Decmi river in Sozkana), is bulky, but behind that bulkiness is one of the most advanced rocket launchers of the modern day, while also being relatively simple to use. Most of the Decmi-RL's information is still top secret, so that is all we can tell you now.

Speaking of top secret weapons, the summit did release some information on their sniper rifle pick. Called the SRM-94 (Sniper Rifle Model 2094), all we know about this gun is it is has a extremely long range, is rather accurate, and has a "enhanced penetration round" it can fire.

With the weapons selected, production started with the weapons going through additional testing to work out any kinks, though the overall designs will become the right arms of the red world.
