Hot story from Talitoa, just finished! Thoughts?

Takkatok, Talitoa. July 20. 2022. 11:46 AM

We continue on the story of the president and vice-president stepping down. For those who might not be aware, even wining the second election with ease back in 2020, Jarnet Billings is un-expectantly stepping down (wanting to retire to her home in Takkatok, feeling tired after all she's done for Talitoa) along with her vice-president Hoover Herbert (feeling unable to live up to the responsibilities). Jarnet Billings saw the nation through many destructive wars from Brazilistan to the Jar-Jar wars, helped increase the economy and wealth of the average citizen, helped the reconstruction of Talitoa through many of these wars, and overall lived up to the Talitoan Betterment Parties goal for a better Talitoa. Already the candidates for president have been chosen after special elections by average party members. The big five parties are the most likely to take the presidency of Talitoa. Whoever comes next has continent-sized shoes to fill, and those candidates are.....

Bill Dillcrest of Gonstam with his running mate Javier Henry of Xiagrad, candidates from the Free Riders Party.
"Talitoa has been through so much, though while we have so much to thank for. Our taxes though are too high and need to be lower for more income in the peoples pockets. Though taxes will be lowered, the services Talitoans enjoy will be streamlined for more efficiency. Vote for more, you won't be sore." Bill Dillcrest

Bill Dillcrest and his running mate are old friends that have history as famous political talk-show hosts on their show "The Factors and Detractors" (famous for unique thoughts on politics). Bill Dillcrest acts as the good cop, while Javier Henry acts as a bad cop/devils advocate on the show. One topic they talked on is how companies can be friends to the average man, though still needs a union to balance them out,

Cathy Yerk of Faroe and running mate Cameron Gill (Oarfish) of Talitoa City, candidates of the Peoples Whig Party.
"Billings may have done so much for the people of Talitoa, though she was never that close to the people, even though she did so much to help. We will do our best to listen to the ideas of Talitoa and do our best to make every Talitoan part of government. Whigs may be a symbol of trying to hide problems, but our whig can and will fix the bald spots in Talitoa!" Cathy Yerk

Cathy Yerk works on the dockyard's of Faroe, helping leisure water crafts dock and supply. Cathy also is a political advocate in her spare time. Populist movements strike up even as she walks down the street as they say. Cameron Gill is a Oarfish from Talitoa City who is a member of the Representative Senate for the Peoples Whig Party. Cameron takes pride in his work helping to clean streets after many a war and suturing wounds.

Mochizuki Setsuna of Kototo and running mate Kulani Leia of the small town of Awāwa Hana, candidates of the Talitoan Betterment Party.
"Jarnet Billings has always looked to make Talitoa better for everyone, always listening no matter what anyone says. I Mochizuki Setsuna promise to be that president along with Kulani Leia will do our best to preserve the legacy of Jarnate Billings. Choose the people with can do, nothing more true." Mochizuki Setsuna

Mochizuki Setsuna is a well known member of the Representative senate who has acted as a motivator for action among his party. People in the government cant help but fall for the charm and passion Mochizuki emits to help pass bills such as the Emergancy Jar-Jar Eradication Act. Outside of politics, Mochizuki runs a one manned vending machine operation based on Japanese models. Kulani Leia acts as the mayor of the Hawaiian cultural settlement of Awāwa Hana (population 16,000). Kulani is well known thanks to speeches that have moved people all over Talitoa in the course of rebuilding after several wars.

Lema Debebe Amde of Sooc and Carrot Alpherg (Orangani) of Danielsland (territory), candidates of the Light Green Party.
"Talitoa is a great nation that has gone through so much, and we'll make sure it stays that way. Though change for the moment isn't really needed and Talitoa can stay on this track. Who want's to be stressed out by current events and so many changes. We rule for politics that can keep our nation united no matter what politics you follow." Lema Debebe Amde

Lema Debebe Amde is a programmer and member of the House of Regions. Lema has helped facilitate unity to help pass bills and to keep government running. Carrot Alpherg is a citizen of the overseas territory of Danielsland and is a picketer for unity with Talitoa.

Finally there's Tom De La Wilk Server (AI) of Jlicon and Ekta Dewar of Conoton, candidates of the Oarfish-Bear Party
"Talitoa may have come far from the dark days in the 80's, but corporations still conspire to take rights away from common people to stuff their own pockets. Have you ever noticed how much they can profit over disasters? Profit off of terrible conditions overseas? Exploit said workers overseas? The corporations of Talitoa will look for any chance to take over and bring us back into the bondage we used to see in the 80s. If you vote for me, I'll help Talitoa finally move into an age where every business is owned by its employees. For a complete satisfactory life!" Tom De La Wilk Server

Tom De La Wilk Server is a union leader who has been a labor leader of Talitoan Unionism ever since AI's gained citizenship in 2005. One of the most famous acts of unionism that made him a labor leader in the first place was the successful unionization of Jolocon Fiber's many parts from offices and factories. Another famous act of tom was helping employees of factories buy thier workplaces, when thier owners sent production overseas (the original factory owners would regret the decision). Ekta Dewar is another union organizer who also serves in the house of regions. Ekta has been helping package and mail unions, including the biggest being the Solidarity Express, to be a union that stands up for their members.

The race for president seems as though it will be a busy and diverse race where the Talitoan Betterment Party may need to bring their A-game. But the administration of Jarnet Billings may make it a easy win, since her party has ruled Talitoa so well for her term, and the historical changes the party has brought to Talitoa. The parties could use the betrayal many feel after Jarnet stepping down to take the win. All we know is there's plenty of time for many tricks and thoughts to be shared until elections happen the 12 of December. Be prepared for the candidates to share thier thoughts tomorrow on why they should be president over at the Amesworth Railcar Station Auditorium, on 134 Wilkins Drive, Amesworth.

Oooh! I like it!

OOC: Just some expansion

Zite Act

While the initial state of vuclen's government had recovered greatly and the economy was mostly back to normal, the millitary was still yet to be addressed, a conference in New Yavana led the high ranking officails in vuclen to agree to pass the Zite Act. The Zite Act would approve the rebuilding of the vuclenian millitary. There are plans to manufature vuclen-made millitary products, which may be up for sale depending on the situation.

Operation Rebound

A notable part of the Zite Act is Operation Rebound, in which some ships have been sent to take over some of the nearby islands, for various reasons(military and economic reasons)

This place used to be the home of the most prized naval assets of the republic's once famed navy, once arguably one of the most powerful fleets in the continent, was but a mere shadow of itself, but now, and when war broke over the fallen republic once more, the old base roared to life, with renewed funding reaching over 101 Million Shaamistani Pounds, 4x as much as previous funding, the old base's shipyards, cleared of rust and stain, had begun to build ships once more, from it had began construction a few days after Shaamistan's involvement in the Scienzion war, and now, the old base had built 2 new frigates, and an ongoing cruiser, despire it's age, the shipyards of old were now ready to prove themselves for war again, it had served the republic well in it's previous wars, it would serve well again today.

Out west in the country, lay arrays of radar systems, once backbones of the Shaamistani home defense, these used to be accompanied by SAM sites, AA batteries, and either CIWS batteries on land, or SPAAGs, and though some SAM and AA batteries were still operating, most of the radar infastructure now lay in waste, some Radars even still being from the 80s, making them outdated, Home defense had always been a priority for Shaamistan, as being an island had it's strategic advantages, and with the modernization of warfare, it wanted to push that, while countering enemy modernization, but after the previously mentioned economic crashes, and eventual collapse, the home defense radar network has been left in disarray, but with the war, the home defense network was to be revived, SAM and AA sites were to be expanded and new sites to be opened, SPAAGs, though old were redeployed and rearmed, though the radars would take some time to be changed and modernized, it would come soon enough.

If TL;DR, recap of important things:

1. I have 3 new divisions

2. I have 2 new Frigates

3. I am increasing my production of all war materiel

4. Home defenses are being reactivated

OOC: I did this to RP for my Industrial revitalization, and to also worldbuild, on how Shaamistan was once a stable democracy, and how strong it was, until government and economic mismanagement led to a eventual collapse of the economy and allowed the rise of a Dictatorship and radical parties like the Shaamistani National Party (Bashar Asad's party) today.

Wow! This is amazing! It’s clear you worked really hard on it!
