PEABODIA FOR HOUSE OF COMMONS (MAY, 2021)
INTRODUCTION
Hello, my fellow Thaecians. This month, I am eager and prepared to serve you for the common good of our region. It may be a long time that I am not involved in politics since the time that I left the region in disgrace. However, I would prove myself to all of you that I would try my best to discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter and I will not fail you all.
I'm running for the House of Commons of Thaecian Congress as an independent candidate.
PLATFORMS
• Proposition of reforms to the Military Commission Act
-Congress should not be informed about the operations that will be conducted and managed by the Executive because it violates the operation secrecy. In this manner, no one from the regional government would ever leak or pass information to the enemy, and that the Executive should be trusted to conduct operations in the betterment of the region
• Respecting the Executive to carry out its responsibilities and govern the way it finds the best
-Congress should not interfere in what the Executive should do by passing laws that would direct them to execute the duties, functions, responsibilities, and activities that were dictated by Congress, to respect the separation of powers.
• Supporting for the reduction of the Congress, to improve the overall quality of the Congress and ensure competitive elections
-It is imperative that Congress should reduce its membership because the active population of Thaecia is around 40 to 50 and having one-fourths of the people in the Congress doesn't ensure a competitive Congress, which may invite inactivity and reduce quality.
• Supporting for the amendment of the citizenship system to make it easier for the military personnel to participate while retaining their citizenship
-It would be best for those in the military to not have a concern or worry about their status as a citizen while serving in the military for the security and order of Thaecia.
CONCLUSION
I might have made numerous mistakes and failures in my life as a politician, but I have decided to learn from them and improve myself to become a competent and responsible public servant. So vote me, vote new, vote fresh, vote Peabodia!

It is I, Sma Cyrillic otherwise known as Shadow. I ran for HoC last term and got in. It has been an honor to serve as an MP, and I am looking to be re-elected.
Why should we re-elect you?
The best way I can answer your question is to say because I've been working behind the scenes to help revise and amend the laws of Thaecia. There is still a lot of work to be done.
What do you support? What is the platform?
Decrease oversight on the military. This is a big thing
I support allowing Ministers being an MP or a Senator, BUT I will not support them being a Chair or a Speaker.
I support giving the Executive more autonomy but still keeping some checks on the Executive.

No. I will not join a political party. I like to vote as I feel and not because I've been told to vote a certain way. Just my personal thing.

My platform
1. I would support the creation of committees in congress to deal with one of the most challenging crises in our time- climate change.
2. I have noticed a lot of complaints about the inappropriateness of the RMB lately. This is why I propose an official addition of the RMB code of conduct to all recruitment telegrams.
3. Given the fact that Thaecia has no reasons to attack or be attacked, I would suggest that our nations stay neutral from conflicts unless our region is directly impacted.
4. Another issue is whether we should let non-citizens hold positions. If elected, I would introduce a policy saying that they can be congresspeople and Deputy ministers, but not administration members or senators.

My history in Thaecia
Hello, I am Castarilia, if you have been in Thaecia for a while you may remember me. I left temporarily to build my factbook hub (unfortunately I was busy with school to complete it but I am back!). I understand that many of you know nothing about me. I spent most of my time as a normal citizen, politically invested, but not in a position of power. I spent a small time working in the government before I left to focus on developing an extensive factbook complex about Castarilia. I eventually got bored of this and was too busy to keep making interesting factbooks. Hence I have come back to my home, Thaecia.
My Platform
Issue | My reason for supporting/opposing this |
Senate and House of Commons adjustments | I believe in Unicameralism to create a more efficient system with less gridlock to turn policies into law swifter. However, I understand that the current bicameralist system is a large part of our culture so would be willing to compromise on just decreasing the size of the senate and the HoC to increase competitiveness and would work with the likes of Mardis to achieve this |
Thaemperial Army | I believe in maintaining the Thaemperial army but should be solely used for defensive purposes. I believe that diplomacy is the best way to deflect regions/nations that would do us harm. |
Education Department | I believe that this is an excellent idea, our aim as a region is to have an active population and this is an essential part of helping them enter the region's politics and just general discourse in the message board |
Roleplay | I believe that it is best to let the Rp community thrive as it is a large part of Thaecia's identity. I support legislation that does bring about new laws (so long as they are reasonable of course!) but I would not want to restrict the Roleplay in this region. |
WA and Recruitment | I believe that we should maximise WA involvement by discussing the proposals as a region, not just in govenrment, but in the message board so that everyone in the region can have an informed opinion. I also believe in investment in stamps and manual recruitment so long as we can ensure as many of them as possible will be an active member of the community. |

Awesome to hear! And totally understandable, the game is incredibly complicated.
I know Brototh already said this but it's worth reiterating. Our discord server (https://discord.gg/RYgzby8) is where a huge amount of our talking & communication happens as a region, and it's far quicker & simpler than using RMBs and we can answer questions easier there. Would very strongly recommend joining it, it's a pretty awesome place :P If you don't want to though, that's totally cool & fine by us.
