Today is the 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐡 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐭, or known as the 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐬, 𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐝𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞
or 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 (in Scotland)

At this point of tradition, images are veiled so that we can focus our eyes towards the Cross, and the suffering. This is called the fasting of the eyes. The entrance antiphon of the mass starts with Iudica or Judica giving the name Judica/Iudica Sunday just like Laetare Sunday.

𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀𝘁
57 Those who had arrested Jesus took him to Caiaphas the high priest, in whose house the scribes and the elders had gathered. 58 But Peter was following him at a distance, as far as the courtyard of the high priest; and going inside, he sat with the guards in order to see how this would end. 59 Now the chief priests and the whole council were looking for false testimony against Jesus so that they might put him to death, 60 but they found none, though many false witnesses came forward. At last two came forward 61 and said, ‘This fellow said, “I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days.”’ 62 The high priest stood up and said, ‘Have you no answer? What is it that they testify against you?’ 63 But Jesus was silent. Then the high priest said to him, ‘I put you under oath before the living God, tell us if you are the Messiah,[a] the Son of God.’ 64 Jesus said to him, ‘You have said so. But I tell you,

From now on you will see the Son of Man
seated at the right hand of Power
and coming on the clouds of heaven.’

65 Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, ‘He has blasphemed! Why do we still need witnesses? You have now heard his blasphemy. 66 What is your verdict?’ They answered, ‘He deserves death.’ 67 Then they spat in his face and struck him; and some slapped him, 68 saying, ‘Prophesy to us, you Messiah![b] Who is it that struck you?’

𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: You have said so.

It is beautiful to open the gospels and see this passage for the daily. What is it that we have said? We have said a lot of things, and every word that comes from our mouth can be known as part of our character. This thought is from Sirach. Jesus said nothing when asked what He is accused of. God in the nature of man, showed us how to live in the spirit. This is what Saint Paul wrote about; living in the spirit, following God, not being part of the world. When we are falsely accused, we retaliate. Jesus didn't retaliate. He remained silent.

"But we are not God and Man, Jesus is God and Man. I cannot do that, I am human, bound to mistakes." And so as have been said, Jesus is God and Man. With humility, He accepted the fullness of man, the weakness, the concupiscence, the compassion, EXCEPT sin. Sin has never been part of humanity. And through Jesus who is in the perfection of God showed us how to be the perfect man.

So I ask again, what have we said? What have we uttered in our mouths? What are we saying right now? In our minds? In our hearts? In our lips? What will we say? We should use our minds and effort to not utter randomly. Our words can hurt, can love, can bring joy, can pain, can entice, can persuade, entertain, inform, others. How we use it is up to us.

Another point to this reading: silence. It is rude to be asked and not reply. But what if there is nothing to be replied to? Jesus knew there was nothing to be testified against him so He spoke naught. It would hurt, it would pain us when we spoke nothing, just like how God was tried before the Sanhedrin. People say that in silence there is peace. But in this scenario, silence brought no peace. Martyrs suffered this way too, by love of God they did not renounce their love of God. But I guess the martyrs that had suffered for God, and God Himself, Jesus suffering with the silence, the greatest peace they have is the consolation of their Hope in the promises of God.

God is never unfaithful, so must we too be faithful. Paul wrote to Timothy a 2nd time, (2 Tim. 2:8-13) saying

«Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, a descendant of David—that is my gospel, for which I suffer hardship, even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But the word of God is not chained. Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, so that they may also obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory. The saying is sure:

If we have died with him, we will also live with him;
if we endure, we will also reign with him;
if we deny him, he will also deny us;
if we are faithless, he remains faithful—
for he cannot deny himself.»

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: In this lenten season: let us learn from God through the incarnate word Jesus; see Jesus in everyone; and be Jesus to everyone, ESPECIALLY to the ones who are in most need, and to our enemies. With humble hearts, 𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲.

Lord Jesus, let me know myself and know You,
And desire nothing save only You.
Let me hate myself and love You.
Let me do everything for the sake of You.
Let me humble myself and exalt You.
Let me think of nothing except You.
Let me die to myself and live in You.
Let me accept whatever happens as from You.
Let me banish self and follow You,
And ever desire to follow You.
Let me fly from myself and take refuge in You,
That I may deserve to be defended by You.
Let me fear for myself, let me fear You,
And let me be among those who are chosen by You.
Let me distrust myself and put my trust in You.
Let me be willing to obey for the sake of You.
Let me cling to nothing save only to You,
And let me be poor because of You.
Look upon me, that I may love You.
Call me that I may see You,
And for ever enjoy You.

Amen.

Saint Isidore is known to be the writer of a big encyclopaedia of all human knowledge (at his time). This project lead him to be the patron of the Internet. I remember the «Error 404 page not found» and how his Feast Date is 4/04 (or 4/04 if you're in the US). He is also known to be fighting against Arianism, and the conversion of the Visigoths from it. He was made archbishop of Seville after his brother's death. His [then-archbishop] brother was the one who taught and educated him.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘀
10 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 2 Make two silver trumpets; you shall make them of hammered work; and you shall use them for summoning the congregation, and for breaking camp. 3 When both are blown, the whole congregation shall assemble before you at the entrance of the tent of meeting. 4 But if only one is blown, then the leaders, the heads of the tribes of Israel, shall assemble before you. 5 When you blow an alarm, the camps on the east side shall set out; 6 when you blow a second alarm, the camps on the south side shall set out. An alarm is to be blown whenever they are to set out. 7 But when the assembly is to be gathered, you shall blow, but you shall not sound an alarm. 8 The sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets; this shall be a perpetual institution for you throughout your generations. 9 When you go to war in your land against the adversary who oppresses you, you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, so that you may be remembered before the Lord your God and be saved from your enemies. 10 Also on your days of rejoicing, at your appointed festivals, and at the beginnings of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt-offerings and over your sacrifices of well-being; they shall serve as a reminder on your behalf before the Lord your God: I am the Lord your God.

𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: they shall serve as a reminder on your behalf

Trumpets are loud beings. Trumpets have evolved and are very different from the old ones. This is just like the old testament. But still, their purpose is only one thing, to make a sound that people can hear. The old testament, doesn't mean it has been renewed it is obsolete. The old testament serves as the foundation of Christianity.

Now this is the reflection I want to ask. Have we been trumpets to others lately? Have they remembered God?

The world says otherwise, don't proclaim God, be fearful, nobody would care. These are the thoughts we should avoid, and always proclaim our Go

Proclaiming God's kingdom doesn't make us right, we first have to build ourselves, even if we aren't perfect then. We should never claim that we are great by ourselves because we never are. We are weak humans that even God himself, Jesus, in His humanity called upon the Lord for help. He praised God. He proclaimed God like a trumpet.

The 12 apostles were like trumpets to the gentiles. Like trumpets they are loud and aggressive, but that should be the case because they wanted the faith to spread. But volume and pitch is not enough to make people listen. The words and sounds must have meaning, and heart. The first verse of my favourite bible passage is that, «1 If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal.»

We need to keep in mind these things to spread the Word of God. Saint Francis is quoted to have said, "The deeds you do may be the only sermon some persons will hear today." Actions speak louder than words.

Yesterday I talked about being silent. Now I want to connect it with today. Let us keep our mouths shut and do. Let us stop speaking but show. Let us stop sharing and feel. Let us learn to hear and be silent.

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: «Be not hasty in your utterance and let not your heart be quick to utter a promise in God’s presence. God is in heaven and you are on earth; therefore let your words be few.» Ecclesiastes (Qoheleth) 5:1

Like the lamb presented to the altar of the Cross, silently, let us shout the glory of God in our actions. 𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲.

Lord enthroned above.
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one in three.
Guard our lips and open them to praise You.
Guard our tongue to say grace and blessing.

In the Passion of Christ:
teach us to accept everything with gratitude,
teach us to speak and not complain,
teach us to show more than to speak.
That in the perfection of our actions, our words may be understood, and we may gladly accept the fruits of our labours and temporary suffering. With love, I wish to love You and my Brothers and Sisters, impartially and with great wholesomeness,
Amen.

And may the prayers of Saint Isidore Seville, whom we venerate as patron of the internet, so protect us from the snares that lurks within the World Wide Web. And may he offer up our prayers and works for the greater good and glory of Your name:

the Father, ✠

CHAPTER 1

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗲𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗺
1 How solitary sits the city,
once filled with people.
She who was great among the nations
is now like a widow.
Once a princess among the provinces,
now a toiling slave.

2 She weeps incessantly in the night,
her cheeks damp with tears.
She has no one to comfort her
from all her lovers;
Her friends have all betrayed her,
and become her enemies.

3 Judah has gone into exile,
after oppression and harsh labor;
She dwells among the nations,
yet finds no rest:
All her pursuers overtake her
in the narrow straits.

4 The roads to Zion mourn,
empty of pilgrims to her feasts.
All her gateways are desolate,
her priests groan,
Her young women grieve;
her lot is bitter.

5 Her foes have come out on top,
her enemies are secure;
Because the Lord has afflicted her
for her many rebellions.
Her children have gone away,
captive before the foe.

6 From daughter Zion has gone
all her glory:
Her princes have become like rams
that find no pasture.
They have gone off exhausted
before their pursuers.

7 Jerusalem remembers
in days of wretched homelessness,
All the precious things she once had
in days gone by.
But when her people fell into the hands of the foe,
and she had no help,
Her foes looked on and laughed
at her collapse.

8 Jerusalem has sinned grievously,
therefore she has become a mockery;
Those who honored her now demean her,
for they saw her nakedness;
She herself groans out loud,
and turns away.

9 Her uncleanness is on her skirt;
she has no thought of her future.
Her downfall is astonishing,
with no one to comfort her.
“Look, O Lord, at my misery;
how the enemy triumphs!”

10 The foe stretched out his hands
to all her precious things;
She has seen the nations
enter her sanctuary,
Those you forbade to come
into your assembly.

11 All her people groan,
searching for bread;
They give their precious things for food,
to retain the breath of life.

𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: she has no thought of her future.

Jerusalem is known to be the daughter, and the Father is God. I have explained this before, on the sixth day last week. And here is the continuation. Something a father, or any parent fears is to have no future for their child. That is why the father is restless because of his love for his daughter. This text happened in history, when Jerusalem and all the Jews were exiled into Babylon.

The writer was great when they used the term lover. This was because the Israelites went into a spree with the Edomites, Moabites the other pagans that worship other gods. God is a jealous god that is why He is angry at those who partake in idolatry. At God's wrath He spoke that he would not listen to them in their need. Retribution for sin is harder than not sinning. I fear what will happen to me because Israel had suffered a lot.

God is righteous and just. He will do everything accordingly. But above righteousness and justice, God is a man of Love, Compassion, Mercy. I watched a video about the greatest scandal of the Holy Bible and Christianity. It is God's divine mercy and love. When we do good things, it is repaid with good things. But with God, a loving Father to His children; good thing, bad thing, or nothing, we receive God's love whatever it may be. It is a good thing to think about.

But we take it wrongly and continue on our bad habits. So I repeat this again, at the very least, out of gratitude of His Love, when will we follow Him? We are given what is good, in moral conscience should we repay it with our worst? I am guilty of this, but it is not something to be ashamed of. The most important is changing. This is how we can be Christians, by changing our ways, living in the spirit, accepting the cross of living in the world, and loving. Above all we are loving people.

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: «13 So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.» 1 Corinthians 13:13

𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲.

God may Your love reign above all like it did in the death of Your Son. Through the Death of Your Son on the cross may we die also from our sins and leave them. Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ may we rejoice in the coming, and the living, and the dying through which the Hope of what You have promised has now come into the fullness and perfection. Amen.

Where Saturdays are known as a Memorial of Mary in that holy Sabbath after Good Friday, and Fridays we commemorate the Passion of Christ and His most Sacred Heart, Wednesdays are known to be dedicated to Saint Joseph. Now Saint Joseph is either a forgotten character or a character we take light of. Recently a surge of devotions to Saint Joseph are resurfacing, and it is really nice to see that the Guardian of Our Lord and Mary, His Mother, is being honoured since Jesus had honoured Him too as His father on earth.

CHAPTER 3
1 Then sad at heart, I groaned and wept aloud. With sobs I began to pray:

𝗧𝗼𝗯𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵
2 “You are righteous, Lord,
and all your deeds are just;
All your ways are mercy and fidelity;
you are judge of the world.
3 And now, Lord, be mindful of me
and look with favor upon me.
Do not punish me for my sins,
or for my inadvertent offenses,
or for those of my ancestors.

“They sinned against you,
4 and disobeyed your commandments.
So you handed us over to plunder, captivity, and death,
to become an object lesson, a byword, and a reproach
in all the nations among whom you scattered us.

5 “Yes, your many judgments are right
in dealing with me as my sins,
and those of my ancestors, deserve.
For we have neither kept your commandments,
nor walked in fidelity before you.

6 “So now, deal with me as you please;
command my life breath to be taken from me,
that I may depart from the face of the earth and become dust.
It is better for me to die than to live,
because I have listened to undeserved reproaches,
and great is the grief within me.

“Lord, command that I be released from such anguish;
let me go to my everlasting abode;
Do not turn your face away from me, Lord.
For it is better for me to die
than to endure so much misery in life,
and to listen to such reproaches!”

𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Yes, your many judgments are right

Reading this, I can say that this is a common thought of ours when we deal with problems. Sometimes problems are overwhelming and we can't breathe (literally or figuratively). I am not that familiar with Tobit except for the presence of the Angel Raphael. From what Wikipedia had said, it shares a common ground with the book of 𝕵𝖔𝖇.

Wikipedia wrote:is a 3rd or early 2nd century BC Jewish work describing how God tests the faithful, responds to prayers, and protects the covenant community

We tend to lose hope, but let us remember that is what the devil wants us to do. Believing in Angels and Demons or not, let us also remember to be hopeful because our spirits would be dejected otherwise. God wouldn't want us to be sad, nor should we let our trust in God fail. In the homily by Fr. Ted Torralba, the message I got from him telling of an African Story was: "Something good will come out of anything."

We are unknowing, we do not know anything. Nor can we predict what the future can be. Sure there can be patterns, like the tides and the moon, but even that is subject to change in a time we do not know. A famous quote by a Greek philosopher Heraclitus, says this, "The only constant is change." Now we have different lives, some don't want to change, some want change, some wouldn't mind if there was change, some would have a hard time adapting. Either way the universe is ruled by entropy; chaos.

The Jewish are reluctant to realize Jesus as the Christ because the tradition has been changed. But in God's perfect understanding, knowledge, and wisdom, all of these good things and bad things have a good fruit. We just have to bear with it patiently and lovingly. Knowing that God's love is ever existing, unfading, limitless, and spotless, every thing that happens in this world and after it is joy; no matter the suffering.

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: Jesus Christ, the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, was slain to make all things new. With the sorrow of the mother meeting Him on the way to Calvary, and the loving heart of the guardian of God and His Mother at Nazareth, may we learn to accept the will of the God whom brought greater joy to our sufferings. 𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲.

Lord, I know Your will, though the details are unclear.
But the end goal, the purpose, and the activities are one thing: love.
It is by Your Love that Jesus Christ accepted the human weakness
and became obedient unto death even unto death on the cross.
It is by Your Love that Mary, though unsure of the message of the angel, accepted it.
It is by Your Love that Joseph, even though he may not participate directly in the passion of Your Son Jesus Christ,
formed Him, raised Him, loved Him, and taught Him well.
It is through Your love that we have hope. Martyrs died for Hope.
Strengthen us in Hope especially in the darkest moments of our life.

And all of these that I ask today are nothing without You.
If this cup can't pass by, Lord Your will be done to me according to Your Word. Amen.

𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲'𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 is from the letter of Saint Paul to 𝐏𝖍𝖎𝖑𝖊𝖒𝖔𝖓

𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. 1 Paul, a prisoner for Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon, our beloved and our co-worker, 2 to Apphia our sister, to Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church at your house. 3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴. 4 I give thanks to my God always, remembering you in my prayers, 5 as I hear of the love and the faith you have in the Lord Jesus and for all the holy ones, 6 so that your partnership in the faith may become effective in recognizing every good there is in us that leads to Christ.

𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗺𝘂𝘀. 7 For I have experienced much joy and encouragement from your love, because the hearts of the holy ones have been refreshed by you, brother. 8 Therefore, although I have the full right in Christ to order you to do what is proper, 9 I rather urge you out of love, being as I am, Paul, an old man, and now also a prisoner for Christ Jesus. 10 I urge you on behalf of my child Onesimus, whose father I have become in my imprisonment, 11 who was once useless to you but is now useful to [both] you and me. 12 I am sending him, that is, my own heart, back to you. 13 I should have liked to retain him for myself, so that he might serve me on your behalf in my imprisonment for the gospel, 14 but I did not want to do anything without your consent, so that the good you do might not be forced but voluntary. 15 Perhaps this is why he was away from you for a while, that you might have him back forever, 16 no longer as a slave but more than a slave, a brother, beloved especially to me, but even more so to you, as a man and in the Lord. 17 So if you regard me as a partner, welcome him as you would me. 18 And if he has done you any injustice or owes you anything, charge it to me. 19 I, Paul, write this in my own hand: I will pay. May I not tell you that you owe me your very self. 20 Yes, brother, may I profit from you in the Lord. Refresh my heart in Christ.

21 With trust in your compliance I write to you, knowing that you will do even more than I say. 22 At the same time prepare a guest room for me, for I hope to be granted to you through your prayers.

𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀. 23 Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, greets you, 24 as well as Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my co-workers. 25 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.

𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: With trust in your compliance I write to you.

It is funny how Saint Paul knew Philemon would say yes, and even if he didn't say yes he already has the responsibility of taking chare of Onesimus of Byzantium.

The other day, March 5th, I've read about an article explaining the purpose of Saint Joseph to the passion of Christ, since Mary is co-redemptrix. But among the explanation that the writer gave, it was the example of Joseph that gave him part in the Passion of Christ. Saint Thomas wrote that "thus it did not befit His dignity that He should be taught by any man" nor "by the medium of angels". In his explanation, Saint Thomas explained that since He is in full communion, being one divine with God, Jesus cannot be the one to inspire the minds and teach others what He himself lacks.

This is evident with the story of the "Finding of Jesus in the Temple," where at the age of 12 (where 13 is the age of manhood for Jewish tradition), Jesus amazed the synagogue rabbis with His knowledge. It was at this image that Mary was also greatly troubled for losing Jesus. More so could we imagine Joseph whom God had entrusted His Son to. It wasn't even Joseph's son, and he had lost Him.

Now Jesus knows what to do, what His ministry is, what He shall do with it. He even said to His parents, "Do you not know that I should be in my Father's House?" but He still humbled himself and followed His parents. He then grew to be a great person. We could imagine as a child, Jesus knows how to craft the most perfect sculpture. But with the greatest humility of humbling himself to the human flesh, he can't. He still is weak and does not have the strength to work with saw blades and heavy hammers. Jesus being with Saint Joseph, and us having a father-figure in the weakness of our flesh makes us feel like it is alright. I am sure Saint Joseph made him feel alright too.

Now slaves like Onesimus found a father figure in Saint Paul. Though little is known about their relationship, Paul said he had fathered Onesimus while incarcerated. I remember Don Bosco being a father figure to children, especially the children whom were into child labour because child labour was prevalent at his time.

Saint Jean-Baptiste de La Salle, who was: «Moved by the plight of the poor who seemed so 𝘧𝘢𝘳 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 either in this world or the next, he determined to put his own talents and advanced education at the service of the children 𝘰𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘯 𝘭𝘦𝘧𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘢𝘥𝘭𝘺 𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘶𝘱.» (Wikipedia). The teachers, guardians, parents, uncles, grandparents; men, women, or anyone that is a parental figure to us went on a difficult task of raising us and forming us to be loving persons as well.

But I cannot speak for all childhoods. I also would like to acknowledge those maltreated by their own parents, guardians, relatives. You are not what your past is, and we live in the gift of the present now. In a way, the people whom inflicted hurt on us had impacted our lives which I hope is for the better. With all of that, I want to say thank you. And I do encourage everyone to say thank you as well.

This is a scandal in the moral justice of receiving what others owe. But since God is merciful, why not do the loving thing?

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: In a special way, let us remember our teachers with Love as they stood by with us as our second parents. Though not all are as perfect as the teacher Jesus Christ, we remember them in a special way as they too made an impact in our lives. 𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲.

Protect and Preserve our teachers, Lord.
Infuse them with wisdom,
increase their patience,
decrease their pride and obstinacy, sloth and sluggishness,
but overflow within them the love and joy, the fire to effort in one's work.

Help us to strive for Truth, Justice, and Love.
Teach us Your example, O Divine Teacher.
You are the source of all Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge, and Counsel.

And as we students live,
help us to be humble like You had been while You were on earth.
decrease their pride and obstinacy, sloth and sluggishness,

All-powerful, eternal God,
You have chosen to give mankind a model of humility;
our Savior took on our flesh, and subjected Himself to the Cross.
Grant us the grace to preserve faithfully the lessons
He has given us in his Passion and to have a share in His resurrection.
This we ask of You through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son.

Amen.

Today is 𝐒𝐩𝐲 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲

Coincidentally, this Wednesday falls on the 13th. I'm not into superstition AHAHA. This year is a Wednesday the 13th, and there is no superstition with that.

In Christianity, Holy Wednesday commemorates the Bargain of Judas by a clandestine spy among the disciples. It is also called Spy Wednesday, or Good Wednesday (in Western Christianity), and Great and Holy Wednesday (in Eastern Christianity).

In Western Christianity many churches of various denominations observe the Tenebrae service on Holy Wednesday.

𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲'𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 is from the 𝟐nd book of the Prophet 𝐒𝖆𝖒𝖚𝖊𝖑 18:31-33
English Standard Version Anglicised (ESVUK)

𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱'𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳
31 And behold, the Cushite came, and the Cushite said, “Good news for my lord the king! For the Lord has delivered you this day from the hand of all who rose up against you.” 32 The king said to the Cushite, “Is it well with the young man Absalom?” And the Cushite answered, “May the enemies of my lord the king and all who rise up against you for evil be like that young man.” 33 And the king was deeply moved and went up to the chamber over the gate and wept. And as he went, he said, “O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! Would that I had died instead of you, O Absalom, my son, my son!”

𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: my son, my son

This might be the shortest reading this week. This is the shortest, but it is the most fruitful. The story of Absalom and David is very dense and compact with emotion. I don't want to tell the story because I want you readers to read it. This short passage of grief that David showed is already heavy to have reflections.

David in here is not the David with Goliath. They are the same being, same person, but their personality shifted. David (since Goliath) had matured. God who so is full of love, fathered the entirety of creation. In this easter vigil, we will again listen the reading of Exodus. Among the readings, God rejoices over his favoured nation, Israel. But on the other hand, God cries for the death of the soldiers in the sea, for they too are God's children.

In the Passover that we attended, it was explained to us that Judas sat on the seat of honour. The priest, Fr. Chito, explained the meaning behind it, that God continues to extend His hand and care for him, showing him the best, even if Judas Iscariot will come to betray Him after. And that is the message of Spy Wednesday.

Judas is tempted by the devil to betray Jesus. He was the chosen one to fulfill the prophesy and the law. Jesus continued to show His love for him even if he would betray him. Now at the end of the Passover celebration, there was a line in the Holy Gospels that says, «Satan entered him,» or the «evil spirit entered him.» Which was not a choice but the effect of Sin.

When we succumb to temptation, we allow ourselves to be touched and used by the Devil. And with each sins that we do, we destroy ourselves every step of the way. Judas was a traitor because he was given the chance to say no to the pieces of money handed to him. Now that he became a faithful advocate of the devil, Judas was then the one used by God to fulfill the suffering and death; the passion of Christ.

Yesterday, I had a bad headache, apart from that I was emotionless. I felt no love, no care, no joy. I only felt emptiness, meaninglessness, lost, doubt, and despair. This heart of mine was cold, stony, and locked. I felt so much grieve that I didn't want to continue yesterday's Daily. But still I did, amidst the coldness of my heart, and the pains my migraine gave me. As I write, I forget the migraine, and found joy again. Remembering what its cause is, I remember it is my succumbing to the lascivious arms of temptation.

We all sin everyday, these sins are venial. Some sins are not venial and grave. Each sin has its effect. David's loss of Absalom is a result of his sin with Bathsheba wife of Uriah. What made Judas' sin much worse is his inability to accept defeat and have the strength to ask forgiveness from the risen Christ.

We looked back again, as our lesson in Classic Literature, the novel of Chinua Achebe, Things Fall Apart. Remembering Okonkwo (I wouldn't give much more spoilers to it) I wonder if it was the same motive for the act. That Judas and Okonkwo feared to be part of their group, and found no hope for his sin. More so might have they thought that nobody had loved them.

But this is a lesson for all of us sinners alike. We are sinners but our God who loved us sent His begotten and favoured Son, whom for our salvation became the ultimate Passover lamb. Even if we sinned, we are loved by God. And our sins doesn't mean the end for us, it means that God has more to do in us, and we will experience more of God in us throughout our lives.

And those around us who will be sad. Those around us, our friends. We would miss out on a lot of things in the world. And suicide would be running away from your problems. It would not solve your problems, rather it would create much bigger ones to those around you. And having a hard time in life doesn't mean it is the end. Everyone too is having a hard time, and the best thing we can do is support each other through.

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: In a special way, let us pray for all the sinners in the world.

God who wept at the death of Your children, do guide their souls to heaven. They too are our siblings through Christ. Many of them Lord, as living people in this world, don't realize the vanity of the pleasures of the world. More so I ask Your divine power to strengthen and lead them more. I ask that You, the Divine Shepherd, to carry each sinning lamb and sheep because our own feet have failed us, like our flesh succumbing into temptation. Clear our minds to see the goodness, free us from the darkness of despair. Shine forth Your light that we celebrate in the resurrection. All of this we ask in the Mighty name of Jesus, God who was man, who with the Father and the Holy Spirit make up the everlasting Triunity. Amen.

𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲'𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 is from the Book of the Prophet 𝐈𝖘𝖆𝖎𝖆𝖍 37:1-20
International Children’s Bible (ICB)

𝗛𝗲𝘇𝗲𝗸𝗶𝗮𝗵 𝗔𝘀𝗸𝘀 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽
1 When King Hezekiah heard the message, he tore his clothes. And he put on rough cloth to show how sad he was. Then he went into the Temple of the Lord. 2 Hezekiah sent Eliakim, Shebna and the older priests to Isaiah. Eliakim was the palace manager, and Shebna was the royal assistant. The men were all wearing the rough cloth when they came to Isaiah. He was a prophet, the son of Amoz. 3 These men told Isaiah, “This is what Hezekiah says: Today is a day of sorrow and punishment and disgrace. It is sad, as when a child should be born, but the mother is not strong enough to give birth to it. 4 The king of Assyria sent his field commander to make fun of the living God. Maybe the Lord your God will hear what the commander said. Maybe the Lord your God will punish him for what he said. So pray for the few people of Israel who are left alive.”

5 When Hezekiah’s officers came to Isaiah, 6 he said to them, “Tell your master this: The Lord says, ‘Don’t be afraid of what you have heard. Don’t be frightened by the words the servants of the king of Assyria said against me. 7 Listen! I am going to put a spirit in the king of Assyria. He will hear a report that will make him return to his own country. And I will cause him to die by the sword there.’”

8 The field commander heard that the king of Assyria had left Lachish. So the commander left and found the king fighting against the city of Libnah.

9 The king received a report that Tirhakah was coming to attack him. Tirhakah was the Cushite king of Egypt. When the king of Assyria heard this, he sent messengers to Hezekiah. The king said: 10 “Say this to Hezekiah king of Judah: Don’t be fooled by the god you trust. Don’t believe him when he says Jerusalem will not be defeated by the king of Assyria. 11 You have heard what the kings of Assyria have done. They have completely defeated every country. Do not think you will be saved. 12 The gods of those people did not save them. My ancestors destroyed them. My ancestors defeated the cities of Gozan, Haran and Rezeph. They defeated the people of Eden living in Tel Assar. 13 Where are the kings of Hamath and Arpad? Where is the king of the city of Sepharvaim? Where are the kings of Hena and Ivvah?”

𝗛𝗲𝘇𝗲𝗸𝗶𝗮𝗵 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗿𝗱
14 Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the Temple of the Lord. Hezekiah spread the letter out before the Lord. 15 And he prayed to the Lord: 16 “Lord of heaven’s armies, you are the God of Israel. Your throne is between the gold creatures with wings. Only you are the God of all the kingdoms of the earth. You made the heavens and the earth. 17 Hear, Lord, and listen. Open your eyes, Lord, and see. Listen to all the words Sennacherib has said to insult the living God.

18 “It is true, Lord. The kings of Assyria have destroyed all these countries and their lands. 19 These kings have thrown the gods of these nations into the fire. But they were only wood and rock statues that men made. So the kings have destroyed them. 20 Now, Lord our God, save us from the king’s power. Then all the kingdoms of the earth will know that you, Lord, are the only God.”

𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:Don’t be fooled by the god you trust.

What do we believe in? A god that is all powerful, a god that is beyond. A loving God. All of these we can imagine, but the true nature of the God we put our faith in is beyond all human understanding. Now I watched a clip of Krishnamurti (Jiddu Krishnamurti) just this Dominica Resurrectionis Paschæ. He was asked, "Kindly give a straight reply. Does god exist or not? Yes or no? If yes how best to realize him in this life?"

He said that he did not believe in God, stating that God is a "man-made image." He further explains that god is an abstraction that has no meaning to fill our loneliness, our desires, to have security, etcetera. In india there are more than a thousand gods; each family or village having their own protector or god.

Now in my Christian upbringing, how can I not agree. I don't think I believe in god either. I don't believe in a man that shows who god is, rather, I believe in a God who made himself known to us. To me, god is not gold calves, or a tree spirit. God is who He is. He has made himself known to His servant Noah, Abraham, and Moses. He made himself known because the people had forgotten him and resorted to gods of their imagination. These gods were made of wood, carved into images of false imaginations.

Our god is none of these things. He is not made, He is uncreated. He is a mystery that the world can't understand. Being not of the world, we are called to understand God, like the scholastics and doctors had done in their time on earth. I don't believe in god, but I'm not an atheist. I don't believe in a created god in the imagination where man made Him known. Rather my God lives and made himself known to us everyday.

The Ikons, the crosses, the symbols are not Idolatry. Just as God had given the stone tablets, or had ordered the construction of the Ark of the Covenant, so do our God wants us to remember and not forget us. Every time we see the cross we see God's love not God himself. We don't worship the images of Jesus, but connect with them, remembering that they too were living beings with a face.

But our faith should not exist exclusively on what we see, because the true nature of God is unseen, but felt. The fox from The Little Prince of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry said that, "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible." Many humans have said that human nature has this being inside us that feels unnaturally. But in my imagination, I can describe it as the soul (in one of my Dailys). The soul connects us to God, and it is with the soul that we feel God. It is with the heart that we connect with the emotions, and our mind Understand, Know, Counsel, and grow in Wisdom.

I have read about the controversy of Quietism. Truly it is wise to be silent in contemplation, but in all things that we do we have to act because we are not bound to idleness, sloth, or slavery to the couch. We are human beings, we have flesh (body), mind, heart, and spirit. These four things makes us humans. Krishnamurti continued on that clip that we shouldn't be bound to the examples of others. We are in a jungle alone, and we must learn to fight by ourselves.

This made me think of Jesus, and thought "Should we not follow his example?" My interpretation of Krishnamurti's dialogue was to work in our will, in our imagination, in our individual minds the good and to do the good that we have known.

I can see this in Jesus being made man. He was drawn by compassion to the sick. I don't know if I made a remark of the healing ministry not being part of the will of God, that might be a heretical statement and I'm sorry. Anyhow, Jesus healing the sick can be done by Him or not, because He is human at that time. More so is He God, more so can He who made the will of man will or not will. But the beauty of it is that, He does not follow the examples of others; nor does He live under the shadow of anyone; but drawn by the heart of compassion, love, and charity; knowing what is good, beneficial, and necessary; having all the capacities being God; He reached out His helping hand. This happens too at Cana.

Next week we celebrate the Divine Mercy of God. Just this Sunday was Easter. The fullness of God is present, ever present, unseen with our worldly eyes, but the spirit of God that connects us feels it. But with the grace of the Free Will, we have the choice in everything. My motto in life, rather, what I want everyone to have, even if I am on Hiatus is, choose love. May we be Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindus, Jain, Baha'i, Zoroastrian, let us choose love.

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: May we be free in our worldly desires, and love completely. It is I guess then, that we can learn to see what God is. Let us affirm our faith by our Creed.

I believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come.

Father, whom by Your love
You made Your Son be born as a poor and humble human,
bound by the laws and subject to human authority,
able to be tempted by the devil,
was betrayed by those closest to Him,
was anxious in the garden,
suffered the blows of the hands of man,
was scourged,
beaten,
crowned with thorns,
made to carry the cross,
and crucified, died,
pierced by the lance,
buried, and descended to the Sheol.

You let Your Son experience
these terrible things for us.

Jesus, You let Yourself experience these terrible things for us.
I am without words to describe the greatness of Your love.
I am thankful.
I am sorrowful for my sins.
I am happy and victorious because of Your love.

And to You, O Lord, Holy Spirit I ask You,
Strengthen us with the Love You endured.
Keep us with the Love You have built us from the start.
Care for us with the Love that is impartial and unprejudiced.
Make us see the Love that You have shown us.
Infuse us with the same Love that the World may Love.
Overflow in us the Love, that we might not stop loving.
Teach us the Love, that we may know better, and teach others too.

Free us the sin, the despair, the agony, just as Jesus did on Calvary.
Bring us with Love, to our home in Heaven.

℟. Keep us in Love, O Lord,
℣. always in Your love o Lord.

Greetings from Chi Upsilon. Thanks for establishing embassies with us. We hope that all of you are doing well.

Greetings, fellow Catholics. I personally am really happy that VRCC have established dioceses across regions.

Good and Gentle God,
we pray in gratitude for our mothers and for all the women of theory who have joined with you in the wonder of bringing forth new life.
You who became human through a woman, grant to all mothers the courage they need to face the uncertain future that life with children always brings.
Give them the strength to live and to be loved in return, not perfectly, but humanly.
Give them the faithful support of husband, family and friends as they care for the physical and spiritual growth of their children.
Give them joy and delight in their children to sustain them through the trials of motherhood.
Most of all, give them the wisdom to turn to you for help when they need it most.
Amen.

A prayer for the murdered children.

God of love and life,
you gave these children to us as our sons and daughters. Give us now the assurance
that though they have passed from our sight,
they have not passed from your care.
Draw near to us in our sadness,
bring blessing out of grief,
and help us in our tears and pain
to know you are standing alongside us
and to experience your love and healing;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

Cretoia-Slrathria and Habianclazia

With great joy we introduce our newest bishop, Bishop Charles, of Cretoia-Slrathria. He has been a great asset to the VRCC as our parish priest and as an evangelist. We're certain that he will continue to distinguish himself.

Congratulations, your eminence.

God,
source of all freedom,
this day is bright with the memory of those that declared
that life and liberty are your gift to every human being.
Help us to continue a good work begun long ago.
Make our vision clear and our will strong;
that only in human solidarity will we find liberty,
and justice only in the honor that belongs to every life on earth.
Turn our hearts towards the family of nations:
to understand the ways of others,
to offer friendship,
and to find safety in the common good for all.
We ask this through Christ our Lord,
Amen

I will be away for a long time, since school is starting.

But I want to share with you two ikons of God the Father

I just had a kind of reunion with the latter image. It's like I forgot that it is God the Father, but it is God the Father, and the drawing of the latter was shown after some visions from a Nun.

The first one I just thought it is kinda cool, since it is God the Father through our imaginations. And interesting about it is the colour white.

I think both images are really cool and I want to remind that life is not sad or boring or hell. Because we have a Father who made us, He who is All Good, Almighty, and is Our Father through Jesus Christ whom he begot. And the love that we see and cannot see, and feel and cannot feel; and the beauty of creation and it's complexity and intricacy; is just something that we should always remember, because it is good and joyful. God would want us to be happy.

A reading, Galatians 4:6, NRSVACE

And because you are children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, ‘Abba! Father!'

What father would not want us to call him affectionately as "Father," or "Papa," or whatever it is in our native tongue? What more is Our Father who Art in Heaven?
