Staplerian Times:

Solar Prominence Leads to Total Anarchy

Hello readers, and welcome back to the InterNet. As you all know, it had been shut off for a couple months due to a massive solar prominence which burned the OMEGA satellite, which carried all of the information for the InterNet. However, even though Stapleria has gotten itself back together again, most nations haven't and as far as we know, they are in a state of total anarchy, since the central government can't reach out to anyone. However, the Staplerian government does know that many people are coming here from Warmea and Trydrieristan, probably due to the lack of communication that those nations are facing. Luckily, both Ropinver and 32 Degrees's central governments have been able to notify us that they are stabilizing and have the InterNet running again.

That's all, folks!

No, I heard that the government collapsed due to something about solar winds.

Sixalia Tribune:

An Update

If you somehow managed to access the internet during the last month, you might've heard of a solar prominence. This is true, and it hit Kravorek about a month ago, shutting down all forms of electricity. Many nations, including Sixalia, are in chaos, and the nations that have stabilized, like Ropinver, Stapleria, and 32 Degrees, have tried to re-invent electronics. However, only small hotspots are available at the moment, which have made the governments of several nations able to communicate and allow news networks to produce their articles. Luckily, the effects of the prominence seem to be wearing away, so life should return to normal near the end of this year.

Sixalia Tribune:

Back Online

For the first time in many years, the internet is back. From the towering skylines of Verizelia to the quiet dunes of Ashdamir, the flicker of routers and the hum of power grids signaled something most of the planet had forgotten: the feeling of being online.

The Great Solar Flare of Kravorek (or just the Great Solar Flare), as historians are already calling it, was the most powerful solar flare in recorded history. When the electromagnetic storm hit Earth 4 years ago, it destroyed communication satellites, melted power transformers, and vaporized data centers across the globe. Overnight, the modern world fell silent. Now, after a year of endless blackouts, fluctuating economies, and desperate improvisation, Kravorek is rebooting.

The first sparks of recovery came from Stapleria, whose energy infrastructure and superconductor industry gave it a headstart. Engineers there created “solar arrays,” which are massive fields of panels linked by local fiber loops rather than satellites. These micro-grids spread rapidly, serving as digital oases for neighboring nations like Warmea and Ropinver. In Verizelia, the comeback was slower but methodical. The nation’s famously rigid governance transformed its bureaucracy into an asset: while others scrambled to restore power, Verizelia’s urban centers had maintained “reserves”—hidden stores of offline data and preserved networks buried in radiation bunkers. When the flare subsided, Verizelian engineers simply flipped the switches back on. By contrast, Kazychr took a more populist approach. Citizens there assembled relay towers from scavenged metal and repurposed drone parts, forming a communication web long before official channels were restored. “The people rebuilt faster than the government ever could,” said Karen Mesk, an engineer from Kazychr’s capital.

For many, the return of the internet means more than just convenience—it’s the restoration of identity. In New Stionslis, students queued outside reopened schools clutching their tablets. In Multinesia, fishermen once again used weather apps to chart safe voyages. Even in the unstable deserts of Ashdamir, market stalls now display QR codes and solar-powered payment kiosks. Yet recovery is uneven. Smork Val, remains largely offline, and humanitarian networks warn of a widening “connectivity gap.” Trydrieristan, already on the edge of anarchy before the flare, faces new waves of refugees as its last substations start to fail. Still, hope pulses through fiber-optic lines once more. “We thought civilization was gone,” said Layla Korven, a teacher in Thriwick. “Then one morning the radio said, ‘Connection restored.’ I cried.”

Few moments captured the planet’s relief like last night’s transmission of the Global Spaceball League match between Sixalia and Warmea—the first live broadcast since the flare. Crowds filled public squares to watch the grainy recording, cheering as if it were a victory for all humanity. Musicians uploaded entire albums they’d recorded in the blackout. Streamers celebrated the “Reboot Festival,” broadcasting 24-hour livestreams where they just appreciated the simple joy of being connected (and said curse words after losing a game in Call of Dookie).

Governments are vowing to ensure this never happens again. Verizelia and Kazychr have jointly proposed a Solar Shield Project—a global orbital network of magnetic deflectors and hardened satellites designed to protect against future flares. Meanwhile, Juntava is trying to lead efforts to develop decentralized “analog fallback” systems, ensuring basic communication even if the digital world fails once more. But many citizens are reflecting on the strange peace of the blackout. “Without the internet, we learned to grow food, to talk to our neighbors, to slow down,” said poet Allen Droh from Sixalia. “Now that we’re back online, we have to remember not to lose that humanity again."

At 06:00 GMT, the final major node came online in Multinesia, officially marking the full restoration of global connectivity.
