Oohh ok

St Scarlett wrote:We're making it clear we don't tolerate no racism in this town.

well that’s good

St Scarlett wrote:As an additional reminder, because I have a feeling certain individuals don't get this, it's not Islamophobic to criticise the institution of Islam, but it is Islamophobic to criticise random innocent followers of Islam, or try to treat them differently, just because of the actions of a few.

If the Tories were pointing out that there's some bad stuff in the Quran or criticising the government of Saudi Arabia for their treatment of women, there wouldn't be an issue. But trying to paint Muslims as "Islamist invaders" and trying to get people to push them out is a major problem that we need to put a stop to. The fact that a few people on Tower Bridge saying "cease fire now" were painted as "Islamic extremists" who should have the army's guns turned on them by people rallying around former Tory MP Lee Anderson, should be deeply worrying in a democratic, multi-cultural country that values freedom of speech and expression.

True man

Another reason to be glad that I'm not a racist.

I personally would've preferred a ban or at least a mute but oh well.
Turenia also note that this isn't the forums; we have stricter standards here. Borderline stuff will more often than not fall on the side of punishment here.

Bit unrelated to the main topic, but I’d personally love to see neither of this said by secular government officials tbh. It doesn’t mean they must be atheist or so, but imo it’s better to be neutral in wording whilst on job.

Ahead of this political debate (if it can be called that way), this:

QOTD is here! No. Not "Question of the Day". Something better.

Inspired by The Rhine and Danube's Song of the Day. Danke schön :3

Basically, this'll be me posting a quote, mostly from books or music, that sounds inspiring, or maybe that's fun, or that makes you think. Or maybe it's "La-Si-Re-Do-Mi-Mi-Do" because it sounds very good. Whatever. I'll also sometimes write a little something about why I liked that quote. You can send me your quotes, even if they're not in english, along with where they came from (and a traduction in english, in case of), and you'll (probably) see it the next day!

Quote of the Day 2:

Baby love, baby child, you’re gonna die
All your friends, all the flowers, gonna die
So, why you so shy? Why you so shutoff?
You’re running out of time

Not only I love Mother Mother, but I had the chance (or money + time) to go to one of their concerts. Some of their songs have a seemingly pessimistic message, and from one of them is this quote. These lines talk about the passing of time, on how nothing matters, because nothing is meant to stay forever, flowers, friends, but it nonetheless implies that, even though life isn't forever, that is the very reason for which we ought to enjoy it, because we're "running out of time". That we must enjoy the moment we're living before it goes away and we regret not having spent doing something else.

I've seen paradise and hell
Without not even only opening the eyes.

(Original in spanish)
He visto el paraíso y el infierno
Sin ni tan siquiera abrir los ojos

The dispatch of QOTD! Where I'll be putting quotes from songs, books, maybe films or normal people, even occasionally music fragments, that are inspiring or just cool.

If anyone has nothing fun to do... Do this!
(I got a 50/50, cause I have no life.)

not trying to be racist, but I think a handful of Italians could bring the Japanese work system to its knees.

Greetings Europe!

Just as they had in their very debut last year, the Nordustran Broadcasting Union is incredibly proud to present the nation's representative to this year's Eurovision Song Contest. It took a lengthy flight across far too many kilometres of desolate forest and ocean to reach it, but young Melodifestern winner Kárina Kyruust has finally arrived in Thessaloniki, honoured to perform before such a large crowd and give her faraway home nation a chance at some international recognition. Despite the somewhat discouraging performance back in Snowby last year, the event has remained very popular among Nōrdu citizens of all ages. The excitement surrounding the artist and her upcoming performance has now reached astronomical levels never seen before in Nordustra.

Once again, they wish the best of luck to all other contesting nations and a wonderful event for all!

P.S. I'm this close to tossing my nation into the bin and quitting the site as I haven't a single clue why the dispatch formatting is going so awfully wrong (at least from what I see from my laptop). The sizing has never given me any trouble in my past dispatches but oh well I'll have to go with this...
