Official Voting Recommendation

Proposal Title: The Commission On Sentient And Sapient Rights
Category: Civil Rights
Strength: Strong
Proposed By: Heavens reach
Purpose: A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.
Our Recommendation

The Ministry hereby recommends that all WA nations vote AGAINST the current General Assembly proposal at-vote.

Rationale & Analysis

The proposal while being well written leaves behind several loopholes due to its vague definitions and lack of coverage of important parts of it. The definitions that it does have also have several issues with them, such as the need for sapient beings to possess a neocortex. For these reasons we have decided that TCB is against the proposal.

As such, Ministry leadership has directed Kethania to vote AGAINST The Commission On Sentient And Sapient Rights and we encourage all WA member nations within the Bloc to do the same.

Voting in the World Assembly helps our voices be heard. Since we're a leftist region, it's especially important that our WA residents take the time to advocate their positions on proposals that affect us all. Voting in accordance with the Ministry's recommendation helps our voices come across clearer to the world at-large, and it also helps the region by ensuring that our votes go further than they would if only the Delegate were to vote.

If you have any questions about this recommendation or the Ministry's work, please do not hesitate to contact me or our Minister of WAA 104 Partisans(104 partisans) via telegram or Discord DMs. Thank you!

I personally don't consider the neocortex requirement to be the main loophole of this proposal. It is a correct clause unless we consider WA costum of using the (terrible imo) term "sapient" to include AI personhood. This same proposal is trying to avoid AI personhood opposition in its text, but this excessive sci-fi detail allows argumentations to include every fantasy species (insectoids, reptilians, undead, talking plates from the Beauty and the Beast) in order to oppose most of WA resolutions.

My biggest concern is the necessity of proving the mosquitoes Brezzians are killing this summer were hosting Plasmodium malariae in order to not be considered a people of specicides.
