NBBC News:
Today, is June 05, 2040, the counting of the votes of the 2nd Round of the 2040 Presidential Election has resumed after hundreds of election related violence has occurred near the polling locations where the votes are being counted and then later transferred to the Commission On Elections' Counting Headquarters in New Malolos City where the "election stoppers" attempting to stop the count, and even tried to steal the ballot boxes when these boxes are being transferred to the Commission On Elections. But as of today, the violence has subsided and many "election stoppers" have been apprehended or detained.
Based on the current count, with 25% of the votes counted, Wally Hernandez of the Social Democratic Party has now taken a narrow lead in both the Commission On Elections' Electoral Count and the People's Movement For Free Elections' Election Count.
But there is a huge difference in both election counts, which leads to these possible reasons:
1. Election Verification: Wherein, the official count of the Commission On Elections is still yet to be verified by the People's Movement For Free Elections and vice versa.
2. Vote Counting Manipulation: Wherein, the counts that the polls workers sent to the Commission On Elections' Election Headquarters via online means were inaccurate, as in, the sent vote count is different from the real count. And some polling locations have been delaying the transfer of the ballot boxes to the Commission On Elections or even the People's Movement For Free Elections due to some reasons or even storing the ballot boxes into undisclosed locations within the polling stations.
Due to these possibilities of vote counting manipulation, the legitimacy of the results will be jeopardized and speculations that somebody is trying or had rigged the election to skew the favour to one of the presidential candidates. But so far, it is uncertain which presidential candidate has benefited from this.
So be sure to be updated on what will happen next.
