Like from the time one is elected until the time one anticipates re-election. Maybe even further than that. It seems inevitable to me that there will be 4 more years of the same BS coming. The more bizarre things get, the more inevitable that seems. What worries me though is thinking about what happens after that. There are some world leaders who have been able to give themselves virtually unlimited terms recently. And then there's the whole nepotism thing, which has always bothered me, but more so now than ever.

I really expect other foreign powers to try and tamper with the elections.

You imply there hasn't been much tampering already. When I hear about the protests against pandemic restrictions I can't help wondering if those people are being planted - like by aliens or something. Semi-automatic weapons in a state capitol and lynching threats against a governor? Really? That makes fake facebook accounts encouraging people to worry about 5G cell towers seem very tame.

Well luckily Trump took some hydroxychloroquine, a drug that has killed/sickened many people who tried it as a cure. How bout a coma? We could have a President Braindead, although we already have something very similar..

Yeah, I'm sure everything will be up and ready for the foreign powers to put their vote into the elections, I'm sure they have all their hands put on Trump.

Don't need outside interference for that, unfortunately. Most of the "liberate" state movements were set up by Betsy Devos' people, based on the public records of who paid for their websites and such. It's the federal executive branch trying to pretend there is a grass-roots movement in order to undermine the states' efforts against the Trump White House. There are definitely outside parties that want to mess with our elections, but the biggest danger is internal.

I think this is true in many cases. Internal terrorists (Neo-Nazis, alt-right, anti-semites, islamophobes, extreme Antifa protestors, school shooters, KKK, extreme Black Panther Party members) are much more of a threat than outside terrorists. We haven’t had a Jihadist attack in a relatively long time, yet just a few months ago Ahmad Arbery was killed, or the shooting up in Nova Scotia. And even more worrying is that our politicians do nothing to stop it. It took Trudeau 48 hours after Nova Scotia, and it took Jacinda Ardern in NZ 48 hours after the NZ mosque shootings to ban assault rifles, and the people willingly gave them up often, yet here we’ve had so many shootings and yet we’ve made next to no progress. They’re almost as bad as the terrorists themselves if they see this happening and yet they still refuse to act

If you say so. But this is the next line to the song "To unite all peoples within our nation!"

This is the full song J= James and JE= Jessie and M= Meowth.

JE: Prepare for trouble!
J: Make it double!
JE:To protect the world from devastation!
J:To unite all peoples within our nation!
JE:To denounce the evils of truth and love!
J:To extend our reach to the stars above!
JE: Jessie!
J: James!
JE: Team rocket, blasts off at the speed of light!
J: Surrender now or prepare to fight!
M: That's right!

Yep.

Wat, Team Rocket got no nation.

Gasp! Attempts To unite all peoples within our nation!?
Come to think of it, Team Rocket's speech was almost totally laudable, except for the part about denouncing truth and love. Protecting the world from devastation, uniting peoples, extending mankind's reach to the stars in an effort to break the surly bonds of gravity and free ourselves from the cosmic gamble of having all our species-eggs in one planet-basket...I'm pretty down with most of that agenda, let's be real here.

That's just words to make you gamble into their casino. why you would do that, when you can gamble on ours.

I don’t think extending our reach to the stars is a good idea. We certainly should lead a bout astronomy and we can have observatories and telescopes, but space shuttles don’t seem to be such a great idea IMO. We have problems already here on earth, so we should focus our time and money on fixing the current problems. Also, they use up tons of money and time just to launch a few people/things into space, not to mention the greenhouse gas emissions they cause, which real,y pits into perspective “There is no planet B”

Greetings, Forest. I too have come in search of Pokemon. I just started this hobby today, so please wish me luck in learning the ropes. ^-^

Thoughts about what would help Forest in the future? Are you interested in joining the government to help out with keeping things running for fellow citizens? Forest needs ambassadors! Send me a telegram, or tag me in a post here on the RMB, and I'll gladly do my best to answer any questions or concerns that come up.

I really like the Outer Bele Levy Epies idea of giving away trees, and the outreach opportunity Turbeaux has provided with their monthly environmental issues. Maybe the Forest Keeper could create a position or committee that gives away trees in commemoration of specific nations, or creates some kind of banners or postcards to share around. I'm envisioning something like real or imagined trees (descriptions, photos, sketches, etc.) to be submitted by nations within and/or associated with our region, resulting in the creation of a conceptual forest.

Maybe Outer Bele would like to be involved in coordinating? I don't mean to volunteer them, but to acknowledge their campaign ideas. Many people could be involved in making something like this happen, so there's no great burden on any one person - I'd be willing to contribute to organization, and I think we have some members who have the kinds of mapping or other graphics skills that could provide a visual dimension.

This is just a suggested outline of an idea - it could go in a variety of directions. The main point is to give our region more opportunities for sharing our commitment to important ideas in real life, but within the somewhat more inspirational and cooperative game framework.

By 'extend our reach to the stars above' I was sort of thinking interplanetary - or even interstellar! - colonization. Obviously a hell of a pipe dream, but the potential good that could be achieved from that...
Well, the line you have at the end says it all, doesn't it? If there was a planet B, that would be a huge justification for space travel/research in the first place!
Of course, there's immense issues of fundamental equality/justice surrounding the issue - e.g. how do we ensure that any hypothetical Planet B isn't just where the ultrawealthy take their family/friends/minions and flee to after having successfully pillaged this planet - but I think in resolving those issues in the first place (in my opinion, through anarchosyndicalism, but I'm willing to compromise with my leftist comrades all the way out to democratic socialism, and of course there's a variety of other methods/mechanisms proposed to resolve the issue but the fundamental one is that of the metastasizing cancer called capitalism that has somehow convinced people it's the cure, not the disease), we'll have done a great deal to fix the current problems down here on Earth.
