The Zephyrs of Zerphen is a titanic, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Crow Ellie with a fair hand, and renowned for its multi-spousal wedding ceremonies, daily referendums, and irreverence towards religion. The compassionate, democratic population of 10.856 billion Zerphii hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

The enormous, liberal, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Administration, Education, and Environment. The average income tax rate is 97.6%.

The frighteningly efficient Zerphii economy, worth a remarkable 1,715 trillion Zecks a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is highly specialized, is mostly made up of the Information Technology industry, with significant contributions from Tourism and Book Publishing. Average income is an impressive 158,062 Zecks, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The most recent election was a close race between Crow Ellie and Crow Ellie, the undead are an officially recognised ethnic minority (Zerphen has found 3 easter eggs), shoppers carry protractors to verify their produce, and newspaper stories fill several pages with colorful adjectives. Crime is totally unknown. Zerphen's national animal is the Crow, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.

Zerphen is ranked 1,817^th in the world and 51^st in Forest for Most Eco-Friendly Governments, scoring 12,798.86 on the Dolphin Recycling Awareness Index.
