The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical, devout population of 3.249 billion extant members are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

The large, corrupt, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Administration, Defense, and Spirituality. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of the Home Range. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 59.1%.

The frighteningly efficient simian economy, worth 300 trillion candy canes a year, is highly specialized and mostly made up of the Retail industry, with significant contributions from Basket Weaving and Book Publishing.
