The Siroedd Unedig of Metras is a mammoth, safe nation, ruled by Chancellor Aerona Owec with an even hand, and renowned for its strictly enforced bedtime and ban on automobiles. The hard-working population of 7.328 billion Metrasians are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The relatively small government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defense, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Eiris. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 15.1%.

The very strong Metrasian economy, worth 479 trillion astras a year, is fairly diversified and led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Cheese Exports, Uranium Mining, and Door-to-door Insurance Sales. Average income is 65,501 astras, but there is a large disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 247,051 per year while the poor average 12,098, a ratio of 20.4 to 1.

Most ambassadors from Metras retire only a few years after being appointed, tantrum-throwing toddlers are regularly imprisoned on assault charges, the derisively named "Morlocks of Moria" futilely demand time in the sun, and cars are banned. Crime, especially youth-related, is almost non-existent, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Metras's national animal is the crow, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies, and its national religion is Pápism.

Metras is ranked 179,381^st in the world and 2^nd in Carrelimetrasosphere for Largest Black Market, with 700 billion Standard Monetary Units.
