The Legionary Republic of Mamria is a colossal, cultured nation, ruled by Magnus Caesar with an iron fist, and renowned for its national health service, zero percent divorce rate, and sprawling nuclear power plants. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 4.853 billion Mamrians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The large, corrupt, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Mamri. The average income tax rate is 77.2%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Mamrian economy, worth 644 trillion Mamris a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a large, well-organized black market in Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, Book Publishing, and Beef-Based Agriculture. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is an impressive 132,762 Mamris, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.0 times as much as the poorest.

Signs stating "You Must be This Tall to Enter" have started appearing outside retirement homes, kilts and cassocks are viewed with suspicion, citizens often glare angrily at jet contrails, and five year olds are carried away after losing Lazer Kiwiball games. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Mamria's national animal is the Lazer Kiwi, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its national religion is Catholicism.

Mamria is ranked 20,770th in the world and 1st in Mamrian Empire for Largest Publishing Industry, scoring 7,703.3 on the Bella Potter Productivity e-Index.
