The Allied States of Luadmar is a mammoth, safe nation, renowned for its compulsory military service, state-planned economy, and irreverence towards religion. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 5.265 billion Luadmarer are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The enormous, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defense, and Education. The average income tax rate is 68.9%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but stagnant Luadmare economy, worth 92.3 trillion rupees a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector is led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Trout Farming, Book Publishing, and Cheese Exports. Average income is 17,537 rupees, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Organ donation is compulsory, military spending recently hit a new high, all major public areas are watched by police surveillance cameras, and the military perceives nations hit by natural disasters as "easy pickings". Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Luadmar's national animal is the penguin, which frolics freely in the nation's sparkling oceans.

Luadmar is ranked 274,158^th in the world and 17^th in Lelaris for Most Compassionate Citizens, scoring 37.37 on the Kitten Softness Rating.
