The Second Republic of Islonia is a titanic, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Agathe Fortier with a fair hand, and notable for its museums and concert halls, national health service, and punitive income tax rates. The compassionate, hard-working, democratic population of 17.583 billion Islonians enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

The enormous, outspoken government prioritizes Education, although Administration, Healthcare, and Environment are also considered important, while Defense and Spirituality are ignored. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Alpina. The average income tax rate is 84.9%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Islonian economy, worth a remarkable 1,864 trillion Iscles a year, is quite specialized and mostly made up of the Information Technology industry, with significant contributions from Tourism and Book Publishing. Average income is an impressive 106,047 Iscles, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

In life full of care there is no time to stop and stare, the tightness of border controls in Islonia leave a little to be desired, political clichés like "band-aid solutions" and "adrenaline shots to the economy" are headed for the dumpster, and one can wake up in Islonia and have breakfast in Bigtopia. Crime is totally unknown. Islonia's national animal is the Dolphin, which frolics freely in the nation's sparkling oceans, and its national religion is Islonian Church of Godsinia.

Islonia is ranked 6,391^st in the world and 9^th in Thaecia for Largest Welfare Programs, scoring 5,724.76 on the Safety Net Mesh Density Rating.
