The Republic of Garage is a huge, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its burgeoning elephant population. The quiet, industrious population of 634 million Garageans enjoy extensive civil rights and enjoy a level of social equality free from the usual accompanying government corruption.

The medium-sized, liberal, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 27.0%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but underdeveloped Garagean economy, worth 16.4 trillion dollars a year, is quite specialized and led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Uranium Mining, Basket Weaving, and Soda Sales. Black market activity is notable. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 25,897 dollars, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Crime is well under control, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Garage's national animal is the elephant, which can occasionally be seen sifting through garbage in the nation's cities.

Garage is ranked 193,136^th in the world and 10,281^st in Osiris for Largest Publishing Industry, scoring 622.53 on the Bella Potter Productivity e-Index.
