The Republic of Arigato is a colossal, socially progressive nation, notable for its absence of drug laws. The hard-working, democratic population of 2.679 billion Arigatoans live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.

The tiny, liberal, pro-business, outspoken government prioritizes Education, although Defense, Welfare, and Healthcare are also considered important, while Spirituality and International Aid aren't funded at all. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 7.5%.

The very strong Arigatoan economy, worth 140 trillion aris a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Retail, Soda Sales, and Woodchip Exports. Average income is 52,317 aris, but there is a significant disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 178,119 per year while the poor average 11,322, a ratio of 15.7 to 1.

The latest Harry Potter book is a bestseller, a large-scale revitalization of the education system is underway, tourists from around the world come to visit the country's famous rainforests, and urban entrepreneurs are busy introducing cockroaches into restaurant kitchens. Crime is a problem, with the police force struggling against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Arigato's national animal is the ari.

Arigato is ranked 75,710^th in the world and 1^st in Kum for Highest Unexpected Death Rate, scoring 38.57 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
