The Republic of Anguish Entity is a fledgling, orderly nation, remarkable for its state-planned economy, compulsory military service, and stringent health and safety legislation. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 6 million Anguish Entityians are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The medium-sized, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Education. The average income tax rate is 44.0%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The struggling Anguish Entityian economy, worth 146 billion Schizophrenias a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is fairly diversified, is led by the Uranium Mining industry, with major contributions from Furniture Restoration, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Information Technology. Average income is 24,316 Schizophrenias, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Anguish Entity's national animal is the Anguish.

Anguish Entity is ranked 191,298^th in the world and 4^th in The Parallels for Highest Poor Incomes, with 21,897.21 Standard Monetary Units.
