My fellow Americans.
It is July 4th, 2026, marking 250 years since the founding of our great nation, on July 4th, 1776.
250 years of history, 250 years of bravery, 250 years of sacrifice, 250 years of glory, 250 years of freedom. The United States of America is the image of freedom, democracy, and republicanism, the American Dream, and all that is great.
We have stood up for all that is right; the values that shape us continue to influence us in beautiful ways, and our ideals never falter. The founding fathers had a vision for us, that we would be one out of many, the star in the dark space, the eagle in the blue sky, and our nation has gone through great trials and tribulations to get to its present state. I cannot say for sure for you, but for me, I am proud to be an American, to be part of something greater than I am, to represent the best of us, even through hard times and intense struggles throughout the history of the United States.
The American Revolution birthed the values of freedom, democracy, rights, and liberty that lead our great nation to this day. The expansion of the United States and the American Frontier brought the ideals of individualism and self-reliance, which influenced the US thereafter. World War I brought the United States onto the international stage and marked the beginning of its rise to superpower status. The Great Depression devastated the US, but it also granted us an opportunity not only to learn from our mistakes but also to come together as Americans to solve the great problem, no matter who or what we were. World War II and the Cold War elevated the United States to superpower status and taught us that the forces of evil can never overpower the free peoples of this world and their determination to build a free, just world. The September 11 Attacks and the War on Terror brought us, as Americans, closer to each other and reaffirmed defiance in the face of tragedy. The United States continues to embody those qualities brought forth in the past to this day.
This July 4th is not a day for individual glory or ideological supremacy, but is a day to celebrate not only the birth date of our country, but the ideals and values it represents, its commitment to uphold these values, it's resiliance throughout it's history, and to look ahead to a bright future where the United States continues to prosper, no matter the state of the world. We are the shining beacon on top of that hill in the dark fog, and our history and unique ideals present us as the most exceptional nation on this God-given earth. Certainly, the United States has made mistakes, as we all do individually. But what makes us special is that we learn from those mistakes, learn how to avoid them, and apply what we learned to prevent making the same mistakes again. No matter if you champion the liberal ideology, or if you do the same with the conservative ideology, or even any other ideology outside the linear political spectrum, in these trying times, we all must recognize that we are Americans, and that makes us special, so we must learn to come together as Americans, no matter who or what we are, and celebrate America. We must do so because the value of community was taught by our forefathers and was passed down through generations. We must recognize that no matter what you advocate, everybody only wants what is best for the United States, but simply desires to achieve such through different methods.
Therefore, we must not see each other as mortal enemies or ideological evils, but as fellow Americans, because that is what we are. We must learn to love each other as Americans, no matter how different any one American is from any other, and we must go back to the history of our country to see how this nation has changed throughout its history, and understand that those before us also sought to benefit this nation, no matter their ideals or differing methods to do so. If anyone hates the United States, they must ask themselves why foreigners risk everything just to cross the border, legally or illegally, and what purpose they do so. Because they do not come here for nothing, do they? They come here because we represent the values and ideals of freedom, individualism, democracy, sacrifice, liberty, achievement, and progress. They do not come for nothing; they want to achieve the American Dream, the idea that everyone and anyone can prosper in our country, no matter their background, and the foreigners recognize this, which is why I believe that the United States is one of the greatest nations in this world.
They say politics is everything, and to an extent, they are certainly correct. We are all unique in our own ways, even if we are all Americans, and the political diversity of our nation is itself special, because the freedoms the founding fathers guaranteed us enable us to advocate for what we believe is right, and to be able to disagree and debate others with differing political views. But we must not hate a fellow American for his politics, for after all, no political ideology makes us special over any other American, does it? Throughout the political history of the United States, no one political ideology or faction ever gained all they wanted, as the political foundations and institutions enabled dissent from the others, and forced compromise between the two or more sides on the affairs themselves and how the Government must conduct them. What makes us different is our ability to compromise, peacefully debate, discuss policies, and learn that, in the end, we all want what is best for America.
The United States of America is a beautiful country, and I am proud to be an American. As I celebrate this 250th July 4th today, I will remember the achievements of the United States, how they did so, and the sacrifices they made to do it. Happy Independence Day, folks!
What I have here in this section is a collection of American patriotic songs for you to listen to as we celebrate the 250th Independence Day of the United States of America. I have put down the lyrics in this section, but also put links to the songs themselves on the titles if you want to listen to them as well. I hope you enjoy these!
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave,
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines on the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner, O long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave,
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave,
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
O thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand,
Between their loved home and the war's desolation,
Blessed with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n rescued land,
Praise the power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave,
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing:
Land where my fathers died,
Land of the pilgrims' pride,
From every mountainside
Let freedom ring!
My native country, thee,
Land of the noble free,
Thy name I love;
I love thy rocks and rills,
Thy woods and templed hills;
My heart with rapture thrills
Like that above.
No more shall tyrants here
With haughty steps appear,
And soldier bands;
No more shall tyrants tread
Above the patriot dead—
No more our blood be shed
By alien hands.
Let music swell the breeze,
And ring from all the trees
Sweet freedom's song:
Let mortal tongues awake,
Let all that breathe partake;
Let rocks their silence break,
The sound prolong.
Our fathers’ God, to Thee,
Author of liberty,
To Thee we sing;
Long may our land be bright
With freedom’s holy light;
Protect us by Thy might,
Great God, our King.
Let us swear allegiance to a land that's free.
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer.
God bless America, land that I love.
Stand beside her and guide her
Through the night with the light from above.
From the mountains to the prairies,
To the oceans white with foam,
God bless America, my home sweet home,
God bless America, my home sweet home.
And liberty extend its mighty hand
A flag appears 'mid thunderous cheers,
The banner of the Western land.
The emblem of the brave and true
Its folds protect no tyrant crew;
The red and white and starry blue
Is freedom's shield and hope.
Let eagle shriek from lofty peak
The never-ending watchword of our land;
Let summer breeze waft through the trees
The echo of the chorus grand.
Sing out for liberty and light,
Sing out for freedom and the right.
Sing out for Union and its might,
O patriotic sons.
𝄆 Other nations may deem their flags the best
And cheer them with fervid elation
But the flag of the North and South and West
Is the flag of flags, the flag of Freedom's nation. 𝄇
Hurrah for the flag of the free!
May it wave as our standard forever,
The gem of the land and the sea,
The banner of the right.
Let tyrants remember the day
When our fathers with mighty endeavor
Proclaimed as they marched to the fray
That by their might and by their right
It waves forever.
Hurrah for the flag of the free.
May it wave as our standard forever
The gem of the land and the sea,
The banner of the right.
Let tyrants remember the day
When our fathers with mighty endeavor
Proclaimed as they marched to the fray,
That by their might and by their right
It waves forever.
A-riding on a pony,
Stuck a feather in his cap
And called it macaroni. 𝄇
Yankee Doodle keep it up,
Yankee Doodle dandy,
Mind the music and the step,
And with the girls be handy.
Father and I went down to camp,
Along with Captain Gooding,
And there we saw the men and boys
As thick as hasty pudding.
And there we saw a thousand men
As rich as Squire David,
And what they wasted every day,
I wish it could be savèd.
The 'lasses they eat every day,
Would keep a house a winter;
They have so much, that I'll be bound,
They eat it when they've a mind to.
And there I see a swamping gun
Large as a log of maple,
Upon a deuced little cart,
A load for father's cattle.
And every time they shoot it off,
It takes a horn of powder,
And makes a noise like father's gun,
Only a nation louder.
I went as nigh to one myself
As 'Siah's underpinning;
And father went as nigh again,
I thought the deuce was in him.
Cousin Simon grew so bold,
I thought he would have cocked it;
It scared me so I shrinked it off
And hung by father's pocket.
And Cap'n Davis had a gun,
He kind of clapt his hand on't
And stuck a crooked stabbing iron
Upon the little end on't
And there I see a pumpkin shell
As big as mother's basin,
And every time they touched it off
They scampered like the nation.
I see a little barrel too,
The heads were made of leather;
They knocked on it with little clubs
And called the folks together.
And there was Cap'n Washington,
And gentle folks about him;
They say he's grown so 'tarnal proud
He will not ride without 'em.
He got him on his meeting clothes,
Upon a slapping stallion;
He sat the world along in rows,
In hundreds and in millions.
The flaming ribbons in his hat,
They looked so tearing fine, ah,
I wanted dreadfully to get
To give to my Jemima.
I see another snarl of men
A-digging graves, they told me,
So 'tarnal long, so 'tarnal deep,
They 'tended they should hold me.
It scared me so, I hooked it off,
Nor stopped, as I remember,
Nor turned about till I got home,
Locked up in mother's chamber.
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword:
His truth is marching on.
𝄇 Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His truth is marching on. 𝄇
I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps,
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps:
His day is marching on.
I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel:
“As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal;
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel,
Since God is marching on.”
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat:
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,
While God is marching on.
He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
He is Wisdom to the mighty, He is Succour to the brave,
So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of Time His slave,
Our God is marching on.
