Breaking News: on this week's Metropolitan area news report, riots break out in many major metro areas in Europe such as, Lisbon, Milan, Madrid, and the most major city, and most major riots that will leave you stunned, Paris. from October 17th to October 19th, a peaceful protest in Paris turned violent with things being lit on fire, cops being assaulted, and deformation of buildings and statues. The riots got worse when random civilians saw this as their opportunity to do what they want, stores started being looted, business ruined, and the destruction increased. This caused a ripple effect all over Europe and now destructive riots are going on in other cities across Europe.

Breaking News: where back with more city proper news and today where here with the 2 most unique city propers in the world that Metropolitan Area News gives a 10.0 on the uniqueness scale. First we got Paris, it is roughly the size of San Francisco but has 1.2M more people than it sitting at around 2.05M in 2026. Paris city proper is very tiny and very dense because it was master planned centuries ago to be exactly 16 arrondissement. But the area outside of those 16 arrondissements grew to 11.4M people, and the to around 13M. Paris is almost always shown as one of those, rarely the city center, and the Île-de-France is even a administrative district, Paris city proper is just seen as the core. On the other hand, London is a very weird city when it comes to defining it's borders, and easily the top of the unique list. It is a city but not in the usual sense. It is more of a county and an administrative region made up of 32 boroughs each with their own council, with the City of London in the center which is not part of London and has it's own mayor. The whole area is called Greater London and it is governed by the Lord Mayor of London, with a population of 9.2M, it sounds like a metro area but it is not. Greater London is often used even when comparing it to metro areas because the metro area separated by Greater London by the vast London Green Belt, and people feel like Greater London feels like all of London because is alone is in the top 10 largest cities in the Western World and in the top 40 largest cities globally, also projected to be around 12M people in the 2050s.
