Lahnhof wrote:In these adjacent gaue affected by the spillover of Seranian dissent, the central government in Rötstadt instructed the regional governments to put the Landwehr, the reserve forces of the Lahnhofer army, on stand-by, as well as to secure important administrative areas with riot police in case the protestors would try to storm them. Several elements of the Panzergrenadiers secured the roads and bridges leading to the main hotspot areas, indefinitely halting any would-be protestors from further intensifying the situation. The governments of Ären and Zürges, now previously separated from their southern and western holdings respectively, would give the protestors a cease and desist order and refused to let them vote until they stopped their protests.

The ethnically and majority Germanic populations of these nearby gaue would form groups with dubious and, undoubtedly, nationalist intent. Especially in Ären and Zürges, these nationalists wore distinctive black shirts, intimidating the protestors and Seranian neighbourhoods with threats of violence. Those who joined these groups were disgruntled, often young, people who felt betrayed by both the Seranian population and the government for heeding the demands of a foreign and, as far as they were concerned, mongrel race. Prime Minister Richter denounced these groups and personally told them to disperse, however, they persisted. The Prime Minister has expressed his disappointment in the Seranian cause for independence, however, secession and transferral to another state of similar ethnicity and language were permitted. He reluctantly supported holding a plebiscite in these autonomous regions. Firstly, the Prime Minister, with approval from the Landtag, held an official census in the freigaue and adjacent gaue to determine the rest of the population's stance on the matter.

The Freigaue had a predictably large Seranian population, however, a large Germanic population was also present, a population that was eternally loyal to Lahnhof. In Hahnau, the Seranian population was only 47% of the population, it was only made into a freigau due to it holding the majority of Lahnhof's share of the Shroud; in Wittingsgau, 66% were Seranian and the rest Germanic; in Kürmach, 83% were Seranian and 17% were Germanic. The Freigau of Southern Ären had a 59% Seranian population and a 41% Germanic population. These Germans in the Freigaue were already bitter in their loss of representation and as talks of independence came rolling in, a hatred for the Seranians festered within. The likes of Neue Ordnung and Der Lahnhofer, all Nationalist radio broadcasting stations, tapped their propaganda into the minds of these Germanics living in the freigaue and to the rest of the nation.

uh oh, germans are nationalist...

Greetings from the South. How's the TEP RMB doing?

I am happy to announce that I have discovered a compromise between my desire to make my factbooks look good and putting meaningful information in it, the latter thing I lack very much. Why didn't anyone think of this before?

    rebuke me
