Brezzian State TV news report

Journalist: "The Council of Commissioners met in the early afternoon following the state of emergency and the evacuation of foreign citizens proclaimed in Boyarkinskaya. In the press conference, the Commissioner the Prime Minister expressed solidarity with the population and condemned the explosive attacks. The President also announced the sending of aid from Brezzia."

PreConCom: "The Commissariats for Foreign Affairs, Transport and Health are coordinating the sending of health and food aid to the affected population. The Commissioner for Science is considering sending technicians and academics to cooperate in the containment of damage to the country's nuclear power plants."

Journalist: "Finally, the Commissar for Foreign Affairs called for international coordination to deal with the numerous crises in the Bloc."

ComEst: "The nations of the Communist Bloc must help Boyarkinskaya in re-establishing the conditions necessary to hold elections as soon as possible."

An unfortunate young woman

At the end of the press conference, an ASE Red Guard approaches the Prime Minister and the Commissars for Foreign Affairs and for Defense.

"Comrade President, Comrade Commissars! We received a call for help from North Ickabog for possible terrorist attacks, but communications went down. Comrade Ambassador confirmed the explosions in the capital and initiated and initiated preparations for the evacuation of citizens and diplomatic personnel."

The President reads the charter given to her by the colonel. "Okay, I'm going to this meeting."

"It's too dangerous Comrade Olga! Besides, we have too much meat on the fire without you here." Says the Commissioner of Defense.

An Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs joins them. "Comrade Commissar, we have to meet the Commissar for Industry for the metals to be imported for the new smartph..." Guido Forestieri interrupts her. "Ah Comrade Fortunata Ventura! We really need you for an urgent assignment! The colonel will give you all the details!"

The Red Guard grabs the young woman's arm and begins to summarize the events while dragging her away. "But... tonight I have a dinner with my sister... I promised my niece!" The Commissioner waves his hand. "I'll buy her a gift that you can give her!"

Dear Comrades,

The government of the Brezzian Workers' Council Republic and its Commissariat for Foreign Affairs will adopt only the long scale as naming systems for integer powers of ten.

The following words shall therefore be used as defined on the long scale in all publicly released documents:

• "one billion" (un bilione) shall only indicate the number 1 000 000 000 000, i.e. 10¹² (ten to the twelfth power) in scientific notation; "one thousand milliard" (mille miliardi) may be used in order to avoid confusion, while "one million million" must not;

• "one milliard" (un miliardo) shall only indicate the number 1 000 000 000, i.e. 10⁹ (ten to the ninth power) in scientific notation; "one thousand million" (mille milioni) may be used in order to avoid confusion only in documents in foreign languages (i.e. English);

• "one million" (un milione) shall only indicate the number 1 000 000, i.e. 10⁶ (ten to the sixth power) in scientific notation; "one thousand thousand" (millemila!) must not be used.

Please be advised that the terms "billion" and "trillion" may be interpreted by Brezzians as defined in the long scale (10¹² and 10¹⁸), not in the short scale (10⁹ and 10¹²), when communicating in a foreign language (i.e. English).

Furthermore, the government of the Brezzian Workers' Council Republic and its Commissariat for Foreign Affairs will adopt only the comma as decimal separator and the space as digit grouping mark.

These decisions are in accordance with the teaching in Brezzian schools and universities, which follow the rules adopted by the People's Academy of Sciences of Brezzia.

1. Feyrisshire's Nuclear Weapons Program and Weapons of Mass Destruction: While Feyrisshire is a small and backwards country, it nonetheless has managed to create a successful nuclear weapons program and is capable of fielding ICBMs. Feyrisshire currently is estimated to possess 100-200 nuclear warheads and ICBMs such as the Aerifyu-IV that is capable of reaching the US Mainland. Feyrisshire also is believed to have access to biological and chemical weapons.

Feyrisshire also possesses a nuclear triad, albeit obsolete and small. It has 2 SSBNs (KDR Ryumine Marmargaels and KDR Aenwyn Ranscheid). The Feyris Aerial Militia is also believed to possess 1 Tupolev Tu-142 air frame. The Feyris militiary seems to rely more on mobile land ICBMs for delivery.

2. Emphasis on Asymmetric warfare - The leaders of Feyrisshire are cognizant that Feyrisshire being a small, technologically inferior and economically poor country compared to its neighboring countries like China, Russia, Japan and South Korea cannot hope to compete on equal parity. So they turn to asymmetric warfare instead.

The Feyris Maritime Militia had mostly ditched the conventional naval doctrine of relying on surface vessels due to economic problems and instead relied on having a big and capable brown water navy. The Feyris Navy had been dubbed as a "Mad Max Navy" due to its hundreds of speedboats, torpedo boats, fast attack craft, missile boats, Ekranoplans and a fleet of midget submarines. While small and easy to sink, these small vessels armed with torpedoes and anti-ship missiles can sink an enemy ship that is not on guard.

3. Seybenhann - "Seybenhann" is a Feyris word that translates as "Guard" or "Militia". It is a Feyris central institution and the modern Feyris militiary is still built on the base of this venerable institution. The tradition of the "Seybenhann" has lend to a militarized culture and as a result people are more amenable to conscription and to military training. In every Feyris village, town and city there is a Seybenhann drill square where people are mostly called to drill and train weapons a few times a year. In schools schoolgirls receive military training.

This venerable tradition has resulted into a good tradition of mobilization, military training and conscription outcomes.

Weaknesses:

1. Harsh climate - Feyrisshire being located in the Siberian Far East is not blessed with a good climate and as a result agriculture suffers from too many environmental problems such as permafrost, lack of rain, lack of sunlight, and a very short growing and planting season. The exception is in the south where chernozem can be found. This would make the food situation in Feyrisshire vulnerable to food blockades, so its leaders had tried to made food sufficiency possible through hydroponics, greenhouses, and research to taiga and polar agriculture.

2. Antiquated military - Feyrisshire due to its economic problems and isolation due to foreign blockades had found it difficult to acquire up-to-date military hardware. A lot of the hardware of the Feyris Ground Militia is still Cold War-era Soviet and Chinese equipment despite the fact that it is the most modern of the Feyris military branches. The Feyris Aerial Militia is even worse, with its main airframes limited to other than the indigenous Teimu Reischiye fighter, to old Su-17, Su-27, Su-30 and Mig-29, and only a handful of them are airworthy due to lack of spare parts.

To rectify this, the Feyris military has turned to innovative asymmetric warfare (See above).

3. Economic problems - Feyrisshire suffers from a poor economy relative to its counterparts and neighboring countries not only due to its geographic conditions but also due to international isolation. Daschime has a large supply of petroleum oil, but this domestic input could not keep up with domestic demand but the prospects of imports are low. The socialist planned economy is also marred by corruption and black market activity. Consumer goods is also a major problem as agriculture, defense and heavy industry is more prioritized (but this has been slowly changing since the 2000s).

However, this is the area that is seeing the most progress, as the leaders have pursued more computerization and automation in the planned economy rather than opening to market reforms. More and more hostile relations with Russia, China and DPRK had forced Feyrisshire to ironically turn more to capitalist countries like Japan, South Korea and the United States.

There are lots of improvements on this front. In 2005, the State Planning Hall had unveiled a innovative system called Consumer Input Demand System (CIDS) and Industrial Consumer Data System (ICDS) in which consumers demand and order for products and consumer goods in the state-owned computer system similar to Walmart and Amazon for the government to find out which goods are in demand for the next years to plan.
