"Ultimately, the trans revolution is part of the West’s will to suicide, seen in everything from its immigration policies to its fierce denunciations of its civilizational legacy. What, exactly, are we celebrating with gay pride marches and month-long holidays, if not the rejection of the traditional two-parent married family in favor of nonprocreative, sometimes grotesquely promiscuous, sex? Equality for homosexuals has long since been achieved. Now the trans revolution is trying to render as many young people as possible infertile, or at least averse to traditional marriage and procreation. The rejection of the trans default is a battle for cultural survival."

These are all such silly things - a mere trifle for a healthy civilization to manage. It's like the propagation of cancer when a person's immune system is compromised. I would say we deserve a better class of conservative, but in actuality, maybe we don't if we keep electing the same oikophobes and sellouts back into office. Better the devil you know, no? (I've never actually understood this mentality.)

The leaders are faithless, the institutions are captured, the children are mis-educated, and the population is demoralized. The upside? Stupidity hurts, and people respond to sufficient pain. After all, "you have to force behaviors."

Yeah... I think that guy went wildly off the mark there.

1. The notion that China is offering money and 5G in order to control information in other countries is a ...theory, a conspiracy theory, not a fact.
One can be WARY of a 3rd party's intentions but what he does is completely jump the gun.

2. Hungary is NOT China's closest partner, that is absurd.

3. What he does - and I have been having this discussion with brazilian bolsonaristas as well - is take diplomatic declarations and wildy extrapolate from them.
Bolsonaristas were telling me that Putin unveiling a Fidel statue in Moscow was evidence he was a communist.... I mean, FFS.
Any diplomatic function, particularly one meant to allure billions in investment, will tend to be deferential and laudatory of the parties in question.
George W. Bush also praised the Taliban when he was governor of Texas, during an investment trip. Should we take him for an islamo-fascist?...
It is like these people have no notion of what diplomacy is and what national interests are, as separated from regime ideology.

4. China is not communist either. Call them whatever you want, even 'fascist' if you will, but they are most certainly not communist, at this point.

5. 'They're all bad' seems to be simply an appeal to live in splendid isolation. Very reminiscent of the neocons calling for a 'League of Democracies'.
I don't know how you'd govern any state by only trading with Iceland and New Zealand, so that tells me you're as ludicrous as the neocons or the neolibs.

6. One cannot in the morning denounce the EU and the Soros quangos for spreading disinformation and subversion and in the afternoon follow EU/US talking points accusing Orbán of authoritarianism. Most of what they accuse of him of doing was also done in other EU states without the EU complaining and the elections in Hungary were uber closely scrutinised. If anything weren't kosher, we would not have heard the end of it.

7. Whereas China's intentions may not be noble, we know for a fact what the US deep state has been doing in collusion with the Big Tech so, hedging bets with China is NOT a bad idea per se.

Unfortunately, it's still "common knowledge" among mainstream Republicans and conservatives in the US that Putin wants to resurrect the Soviet Union, I think mostly derived from link related: https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2014/mar/06/john-bolton/did-vladimir-putin-call-breakup-ussr-greatest-geop/

Ironically, the notoriously biased Poynter Institute is more fair and nuanced here than either most Republican or Democrat representations of the subject.

I think O'Fallon has applied a pretty good heuristic here. People are naturally tribal and disposed to take sides for very sentimental reasons. Of course, there are excessive expressions of this heuristic - many check out of partisan politics entirely because "both parties are rotten". As a result, when someone raises the alarm about one party going off the rails, the disengaged apply the assumption it's just more partisan bickering, thus deadening any rightful outrage. Even so, too many people who take an interest in geopolitics like to lump players in as either good or bad when it is not appropriate to do so. I'd say a more jaded attitude would be healthy here. Besides, we can trade with distasteful counter parties like what we've done for the last three decades with Fascist China, but it doesn't mean we have to go to war for them.

Well, I have to draw the distinction that authoritarian does not necessarily imply autocratic or corrupt. Authoritarian leaders can enjoy high approval ratings and electoral success without violating established procedural norms. Nonetheless, I have heard this accusation leveled at Orban numerous times, very rarely with much detail. I couldn't say if he's being authoritarian without digging deeper on the substance of the accusations, or if he's just being maligned because he's faithfully seeing to the maintenance of law and order. With Soros, the avatar of entropy, as his antagonist, it is easy to believe the latter. However, I would be curious to know what precisely Michael O'Fallon has taken issue with.

I'm familiar with some of these, like the tragic prohibition against grooming minors, shirking the self sacrifice of accepting illegal migrants (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDceLiPLHWQ), giving preferential treatment to Christianity, and a lack of hate speech laws. How backward.

I can see how in a twisted way the anti-grooming law could be authoritarian, in a revolutionary Queer Theory kind of way. It clearly doesn't live up to the Family Guy doctrine of "Do whatever you want all the time."

However, my concerns are not entirely allayed. For example, I don't know the details on the seizure of broad new powers under the auspices of COVID. Yes, it's hypocritical of other governments to take special issue with its occurrence in Hungary, but tu quoque is insufficient to establish its justification. But what I haven't heard is a deviation in Hungary that establishes it as any more authoritarian than any other government, especially its most vocal critics.

And while I'm sympathetic to the ideal of freedom of movement, limiting immigration is not authoritarian, principally because it does not injure the rights and freedoms of those who are subject to the Hungarian government. What would injure their rights and freedoms? Unlimited immigration as we've seen it practiced in Western Europe and the United States.

Also, it sounds like those Gypsies could benefit from the Ron Paul Curriculum.

So, again I wonder what is it that Michael O'Fallon takes particular issue with? I know he is against what he refers to as neo-Integralism. Could it be Orban's preferential treatment of Christianity that's gotten his rankles up?
