G'day Dreamlanders !
Sorry, I been away for a few days. I really am moving to Umbria next week.
I have found the most advantageous work/lodging arrangements. The place where I currently am, compared to what expects me, looks like a hunting lodge.

William Shatner and Leonard Cohen too. People here are going to be more familiar with singers and actors from Montreal’s anglophone minority. Los Angeles, New York and London decide who is famous on the world stage. Montreal is a diverse but largely French-speaking city. Québec artists are appreciated in France, Belgium and Switzerland. *harrumph quietly to self*

Please keep us abreast of developments in Umbria, my dear. It sounds an exciting change.

PS Leonard Cohen was wonderful.

In Kingdom of adorable fembois, good-looking soldier boys have celebrity status amongst the nation's homosexuals.

In Solidaritas, shell-shocked refugees are made to provide Immigration with lively renditions of 'Dancing Queen'.

In On dansait autrefois, polygraphs are relegated to the dungeon exhibit in castle museums.

In Sunny Glade, visions of giant pink bluejays are a common side effect after Naturists eat their meals.

In Carefree Island, most towns have their Leader High School located on Leader Street.

In Icarianna, ice-filled coffins are ominously positioned in the corner of every hospital ward.

13 hours ago: Transexy ceased to exist.

This is not acceptable. *sniff*

🥺 A funeral is in order.

The new Quote of the Week is dedicated to Transexy.

Oh well
Life goes on. The show must go on.
I spent a great day in Florence yesterday. Transfered cash to my online bank account. I don't have an Italian bank account, but a Greek one and an online one - the IBAN of which is Austrian.
Mamma mia, there's more tourists in Florence than there's stars in the sky. I heard all languages and one, mostly North American English, German, Chinese and South American Spanish.
I don't blame them. Tourists, unlike travellers like me, don't have the luxury of time. They have little time to see with their own eyes what they're already familiar with somehow.
A traveller, on the other hand, discovers.

Dancing Dragons, I have never watched Game of Thrones, but my partner has seen it all. An apt quote under any circumstances. A funeral for Transexy, yes, but we should give a few days in the hope of a rise from the dead, don’t you think?

I remember Florence so well, there as one of thousands of tourists.

In Hyenas and other Animals, surprising numbers of poor people are protesting against taxing the rich.

In Oktotheio, citizens are encouraged to report friends, family members or co-workers who seem depressed to the government for "counselling".

In Nudesia, the staffroom being an "icky" colour is a perfectly acceptable reason to not accept a job.

"In Hyenas and other Animals, surprising numbers of poor people are protesting against taxing the rich."

We would agree that in Dancing Dragons. Tax them too much and they'll take their money elsewhere.
Rich people create businesses and jobs.
And they know how to manage money. Approach a homeless person, give them 1000 DD Dollars, and what do you think will happen ? Do you think they'll rent a room for a few nights, take proper care of themselves, look for work ?
Probably not. Old habits die hard. They'll likely spend it all on cheap wine.
Rich people don't like being taxed much, but they make great donours and fundraisers, they start foundations, they have the visibility to raise awareness...
Forget this late Marxist "rich/poor divide" thing once and for all. Good education and housing and anti-corruption policies make more for welfare and social mobility than old school class struggle economics ever will.

Dancing Dragons: Oh my dear, I agree with you not one bit. Trickle-down economics is a big, fat lie. The super rich are not creating jobs, they are buying ocean-going yachts and private jets for themselves, and destroying the planet. Have you not noticed?

We will not agree on politics or religion, my darling. Perhaps not even football. I was sorry to see Bayer Leverkusen lose last night, but I imagine you are happy for Atalanta? Well done, Atalanta.

Happy Thursday, Dreamlanders.

In Khryzia, cops in Solville spend much of their time napping on a park bench next to Embassy Row.

Increasing numbers of children in E621 net have different eye and hair color to their supposed fathers.

Friends don't have to always agree, not on everything...do they ?
And when I talk about rich people I mean those who make the world go around in a positive way, not the likes of those who sit idly on their fortunes at the ridiculous filthy rich fortress of Monaco, the land of retired tennis and Formula 1 stars, or Russian oligarchs and playboy Arabians who buy English football clubs. No, I mean people who combine vision with an eye for business, entrepreneurs and old family firms or estates...

And speaking of football, I feel nothing for Atalanta. I'd be happy for my Italian friends if I had any.
Well, I do, but they're of the four-legged variety, they usually bark or meow.

Happy Thursday !
