Well that sounds promising.

Unified Empiricus wrote:Arthur regained his focus, catching the pistol Pelinal threw towards him and stashing it to his side, using the sword as his primary weapon, after all it was what he was used to, he'd spent longer on Korriban than he did in the Marines.

"Go, man! I'll cover you!" Arthur shouted, looking back over to Pelinal making sure he too was on his way to the elevator.

As the squires equipped Adamm's armour, Margaret's heartrate began to get faster and faster, to the point where she could almost feel it pounding out of her chest, realising she was in the middle of something far bigger than she'd anticipated. "You should have come to me!" she said, stepping closer to Adamm, "I-I could have helped... we could have helped!"

Pelinal nodded, running forth with his shield taking extreme damage in the process, flickering out until he grabbed one of the gunmen, taking their weapons again with ease.
Laurence then went forward towards the elevator, Terra on his back as the others fought. Suddenly all the gunfire ended as the gunmen were struck by a barrage of broken glass, impaling them on the wall Aerion who had been absent up until that point was walking out of the bathroom holding a still alive but rather human sized beast by the neck before snapping it.

"You could of done that sooner?", Laurence calmly said as the music died down, the backup power ending it.

"What can I say? I was busy.", Aerion smirked but it disappeared when he saw Terra on Laurence's back.
"She's ok... for the most part. Just took a big hit.", Laurence reassured.

"Where's Bela? I haven't seen him for hours.", Pelinal said suspiciously.
There was then a silence as they gathered in the elevator.
"He probably just.. he might of just wandered off. We'll find him... we should recover our gear from downstairs. I have a feeling what's happening isn't just restricted to tower.", Laurence then said as he set Terra down, sitting her up against the wall.

The elevator rumbled as there was another tremor... then another... then a screech and roar but it was outside the tower, so loud they could hear it all the way in the metal box.

-

"You were a child, starting your life.. and your mother.. You think she wanted to see us? To help us? And we had no means of reaching Britain.. we were stuck, hiding.. biding our time until she found us again. Our queen who swore revenge for our fallen, for the king. All who were complicit, all we had to beg to hide us.. we destroy them today in one final strike.", Adamm said as he put his helmet between his left arm.

"Adamm..", a feminine voice said approaching, her face covered by a black veil that stopped above her mouth. In fact her dress was black with red highlights and gold jewelry. The hair though.. it was like Adamms, like Arthur and like Margaret. Even through the veil one could make out her baggy and gaunt eyes that glowed scarlet.
Behind her followed more Knights in armour, their blades dripping with blood. However this lady stopped in her tracks while staring at Margaret.
"You...", she said surprised, inching closer with her hand out.. caressing Margaret's cheek.
"I never forget a child of Ba'al..", a smile appearing on her pale yet also youngish looking face.

"My queen eternal.", Adamm bowed.
"Bela is in position. The eye will be ours.", he then added however the queen continued to stare at Margaret.

Just a heads up if anyone wants you can help me with getting ship names by suggesting soldiers or, give me a name of someone from the in universe Gem war.

It might be bulky as all hell but I love this look of a mix between Bioshocks's Big Daddy and Fallout's power armor.

"You're asking about my Ghosts rather than the boys you have us training for the meat grinders of the future. If I had to pick I'd say the original thirteen. Mason, Price, Soap, Woods, Bowman, and some more who aren't here anymore," Gaunt said a far off tone in his voice as he remembered brothers and sisters in arms long dead.

"Those 13 all fought with me from the start of it to when the Death Watch went chasing the Gems through the voids of space, Gaunt then added his voice bleeding with pride. "But enough about the past I have some duties to see to and some people to sort out," Gaunt said making to leave the office and get about to having his men chewing out anyone caught with contraband.

"Is that so?", Terra asked..
"Send this 'Prince' to medical for an evaluation if you will. I promise it's nothing more than a rudimentary test.", Terra titled her head and gave a smile as Gaunt left.

In the barracks contraband would be rampant but one would expect it to be things like outside food, graphic items or even just weapons... but it was something even more odd. Most contraband would be from the group Sauras is leading. Many of his men in his barracks had books not written in any language they had ever seen as well as pieces of jewelry and pictures of random parts of the base, not very well hidden either in their trunks.
Sauras himself only had one piece of contraband that the base didn't permit, a ring, not even a wedding band but just a ring. Blackened steel lined with gold, a ruby encrusted into it. It wasn't in his trunk though, he was wearing it and when confronted refused to give it up.

Outside of Sauras' group very few had contraband as mentioned before, but their items were normal, like one of them hiding a donut in their trunk.

When it came time to deal out punishment for all this contraband most of the instructors where at a loss this boys didn't get leave for going into town as far as they knew so that just meant putting them into shifts for latrine duty or some other menial task that could be done. Mason the one who found the doughnut in the footlocker gave the whole barracks a look that could best be described as are you sh!ting me?

"Alright who here's the owner of this footlocker who thinks he's a funny motherf*cker hmm," Mason said while holding the offending piece of pastry.

Gaunt looked at the ring on Sauras. "Son, where'd you get that bit of contraband right there. Recruits are not permitted to be wearing any kind of jewelry of any kind," Gaunt said not even shouting the words where most of the instructors were blazing like fire and brimstone as they tore through barracks.

Price meanwhile was still mulling over the days events in his head as he walked to this meeting he'd been called in for. All in all he couldn't make heads or tails of the events. It was supposed to be a simple training exercise get the lot use to fighting in close quarters before they moved up to the next step a simulation of boarding an enemy vessel now. Price didn't have much hope for these boys if all it took was a bit of action to send them over into shooting eachother well then best none of them see real combat if they can't handle the sims.

Free Jovian Republic wrote:There were several distant thuds from the metal piece hitting various support structures on the way down, before finally stopping about 45 seconds later. It was a long way down, and the supports connecting the walls of the tower to the central shaft seemed to go all the way down. And further exploration of the large chamber revealed nothing about an alternative way down, in all likelihood they'd have to climb down with some sort of rope or cable.

Despite the freezing temperature and the rather abandoned nature of the world, the walls were coated in some sort of watery substance. Though, upon further analysis, the fluid was actually a type of perfluorocarbon, though the specific variation of it was completely unknown. The material that the wall was made of was the same as that on the outside, some extremely durable metal that seemed to have a physical resemblance to bone. Additionally, the group would notice that they were not able to communicate with the outside world while inside the tower, as if the tower's properties were blocking any signals from coming and leaving.

"Well no way down but falling to each of the spokes of these supports, seems like a shoddy way to do things unless they could just fly somehow," Atom said looking down. "Down we go mechs," Tarantulas said as he shifted into his alt-mode that being a giant spider. Atom and Fusion followed hoping from one spoke to the other deeper down into the dark that was this yawning abyss in the tower.

Meanwhile outside and in lower orbit, Thundercracker was trying to get an update from Tarantulas's team but only got static. "Great, either they are out of range of us or this fragging tower has some old jammer still working somehow," Thundercracker said aloud to the crew on the command deck of the carrier.

So I did some calculations on deep the pit is in the tower I am spilunking and it's about 32k feet or just a little over 6 miles.

So guys question if anyone is willing to lend an answer how would one go about doing a cloaking tech for a mech but not have without the whole making it see through?

Radar disruptors, making what pops up on a scanner say it's something else, good old slanting the armor so that the pings back negative, and I'm sure there's other things you could do besides just that.

Remote Castle

Bella stood in her "studio" working on her most recent creation. The cadaver lay on the table before her vivisected if this worked hopefully she'd convince her mother to use this more elegant form of servant rather than those repulsive mutts. The Varcolack creatures made from her mother Alicia's fleshcrafting humans into violent monsters that were only kept loyal by giving them a small dose of her mothers own blood to keep them docile. "Lets see you won't need this or these the heart and lungs will need to stay sadly, not nearly as adept with this as to make something without those yet," Bella mumbled as she began to cut out organs from the cadaver.

Then she set into the body a set of what looked like glass tanks that fed into tubes that led up to the teeth that had been either filed down or likely changed by other means to be sharp the canines looking more like sabers seen on some prehistoric cats. In the sabers was a set of needles that where coupled to the tubes leading down into the tanks.

Bella then looked around the studio at the different parts both organic and mechanical yes flesh was malleable to her family but even that had limits although that limit was very high if what her mother could turn into if sufficiently enraged; when she became that thing it unnerved most of the family and the clan. Soon she went about cutting away the old limbs and them grafting new limbs onto the body. Putting the finishing touches on the creation Bella stepped back as the thing got back up after she let some of her blood drip into it's mouth.

The creature looked at her benignly its glassy yellow eyes staring off into nothing at her. Deciding to test how aware it was she snapped her finger next to its ear. The reaction was a sharp jerking motion of its head at the sound. "Do you know where you are," Bella asked her creation it nodded dumbly at her. "Can you speak," she then asked but in reply all that came out was a dry rasping wheeze of breath. So it couldn't speak well that was a shame but it did seem to have some cognitive ability to it at least. Some more testing would be needed before showing off her Szlachta to the rest of the clan but is was a good start in her latest project.

OPERATION WINTER RAINS
SHANGHAI, FEBRUARY 2062

    At around 0340 local Shanghai time, a massive convoy of large tank transporters, trucks, and armored personnel carriers, crossed the Shanghai Yangtze River Tunnel and Bridge and entered the G40 Shanghai–Xi'an Expressway into Shanghai. The force of around 5,000 was supported by a squadron of F.43 Condor Dropships, which dropped off several NAVSOC airborne insertion squads into Shanghai via high rise rooftops. As the convoys approached Shanghai via the bridge, all the screens, radios, and TV channels were overtaken by an Emergency Bulletin issued by the Commonwealth Intelligence Corps which espoused the following in Chinese;

      This is an emergency bulletin for the greater Shanghai area. We ask all those who are watching this broadcast to contact as many people as possible so that they may also watch. Chief Minister of Defense Ásdís Liljasdottir held an emergency press conference earlier today to announce the deployment of the trustworthy GLCF regiments to safeguard the peace and to prevent the occurrence of a foreseen worst possible scenario. Chief Minister of Defense Ásdís Liljasdottir has issued the following statement about the mobilization of the GLCF;

"After careful consideration of recent events in East Asia regarding the neighbors of the Chinese states and the states themselves, the local police and protection forces alone have been determined to be insufficient should the worst-case scenario occur."

As part of the deployment request, the following units have been ordered to mobilize; the 802nd Naval Armored Battalion, 138th Naval Armored Battalion, 92nd Naval Mechanized Infantry Battalion, 80th Naval Mechanized Infantry Battalion, 101st Naval Mechanized Infantry Battalion, 55th Naval Infantry Battalion, 58th Naval Infantry Battalion, 71st Naval Infantry Battalion, 13th Artillery Battalion, No.18 Air Transport Squadron, and the Vladivostok Astral Regiment.

      Thank you for your cooperation.

At 0400 local Shanghai time, the 802nd Naval Armored, 92nd Naval Mech. Infantry 101st Naval Mech. Infantry, and 55th Naval Infantry—Designated Force Anna—entered the Pudong district of Shanghai via the G40 Expressway. Force Anna then immediately went westbound on the G1501 express way, with a large portion of the 101st Naval Mech. Infantry being posted at the G40-G1501 interchange., stopping all west and eastbound traffic on G1501 from passing through as well as keeping G40 shut down to civilians. The remainder of Force Anna continued westbound before setting up in Jing'an. Force Brynhildur—138th Naval Armored, 80th Naval Mech., and 58th Naval Infantry—meanwhile, entered Shanghai around 0440 local Shanghai time, heading south to the Lujiazui district, setting up in the Lujiaziu central greenspace, using it for their temporary forward headquarters.

Finally, at 0600, Force Dagný—71st Naval Infantry and 13th Artillery—were deployed via No.18 Air Transport Squadron F.44 Albatross Heavy Dropships. to Lujiaziu by using the Mingzhu roundabout as a landing zone. Force Dagný then proceeded to set up in the Lujiaziu Central Green Space, whilst Forces Anna and Brynhildur began to spread out across Shanghai, setting up checkpoints and observation posts. The method in which the troops arrived at Shanghai wasn't made apparent until 0823 when a GLAN Astral Fleet Carrier arrived off the eastern coast of Shanghai and proceeded to land in the water. The carrier in question was one of the numerous Colossus-class Astral Fleet Carriers, albeit the deck number was completely new to any observers. It'd seem like one of the Steypustöð-13 capital ships had finally made an appearance.

When it was said and done by the afternoon, around 6,300 troops had been deployed to Shanghai by the GLCF, not including special forces units and other supporting forces. Any resistance by local police forces were brutally suppressed, often through the use of chemical gases like CS gas, CN gas, or CR gas but sometimes through lethal exchanges of gunfire. By 1550 local time, Force Anna had surrounded the Shanghai Municipal Council building, demanding the immediate surrender of police and local forces garrisoned inside it. Defiant against the GLCF, the local forces refused to surrender, after which the GLCF forces in Shanghai launched a blockade of the Shanghai Municipal Council building.

Leithania's government has not made any official comments since the emergency bulletin released to Shanghai by the Leithanian CIC on behalf of Chief Minister Ásdís Liljasdottir, though analysts have already noted that there has been a rumored uptick in activity at the Stjórnaustur Cosmoport, which could be an indicator of Leithania sending additional troops to Shanghai.

Unified Empiricus wrote:"Oh that's quite alright, they're familiar sounds for me, I'd be more worried about our dear Professor here." Arthur said in reply, "Then we wish them luck--we're doing something similar back home soon enough."

As Arthur prepared to get straight to the point, Shaw made subtle notice of Leitha's appearance, he'd seen many different sentient species in his time, including numerous aliens, but not like Leitha. "I'd hoped it would," Arthur said, exhaling. "Simply put, a significant discovery was made by a team of highly trained experts, one of them hailing from Ukraine, as I understand it," he said, looking briefly at Shaw for confirmation, which Shaw provided, "originally it appeared to be in the field of archaeology, but as things proceeded, it's become clear it is in fact a study in xenoarchaeology. On Earth. It would appear there were some form of Alien life on Earth before even the native species of Earth developed. The team pursued the findings and concluded that whatever it is has some sort of connection with another celestial object, an ice world, however it's position happens to lie within your realm. That's why we're here, to ask you for access to the world."

Leitha seemed deep in thought for a bit, before exclaiming to Arthur "As a ruler of many systems I'm sure you too understand how incredibly vague that was." The rather stern woman seemed to still have some bit of humor, though it was apparent she was also quite serious about her comment when she directed her attention back to Shaw. "Which world would that be? There are many worlds in my realm that fit the description of an ice world." Leitha's posture remained largely unchanged, her bioluminescent lilac eyes proving to be rather intimidating, though not in of themselves. Leitha herself gave off a rather dreadful atmosphere, especially when making direct eye contact, as if she could just reach out and touch someone else's mind, a gift that Arthur was likely already aware of given the shared childhood.

As they ventured deeper into the pit, it became more apparent that the structure wasn't designed for creatures with legs. While having crevices, cracks, and outcroppings, the walls were largely featureless, as if the previous inhabitants were capable of flight, or some other mode of transportation. After quite a bit of climbing, they eventually reached the supposed bottom of the pit, or rather, where it opened up into a massive cavern. The central shaft that had run the height of the tower terminated in a massive bulbous sphere, which had spokes connecting it to various walls much like a spiderweb. The cavern had many tunnels leading away from it, some seeming to be almost large enough to fit a small starship through, while others were only just large enough to fit something the size of a cat. The sphere in the middle of the room gave off a noticeable energy signature, mostly a Čerenkov radiation pattern similar to that of a slipspace drives that the Gems used. Though the signature was strange, it wasn't an exact match to Gem slipspace drivers, and seemed to be in some sort of state of low power, as if it were dormant. Combined with the design of the structure, it was unlikely the tower was built by the Gems, especially when carbon dating put it to be older than the theorized age of Gem civilization.

The crew of the carrier in orbit would find something rather strange, the tower wasn't the only strange structure on the planet. Some 8 kilometers north of it was another structure sticking out of a mountain side, more closely resembling some sort of ruins or wreck than a normal structure. It had a similar property to the tower however, scans were unable to penetrate the hull of the vessel and the wreck itself seemed to be of different design than any Gem ships the cybertronians have ever seen.

A very bare bones after action report it would seem but even then I suspect those have more than this.

"Bela is in position. The eye will be ours.", he then added however the queen continued to stare at Margaret.

Between doing his part to defend the group, Arthur grew increasingly concerned for Bela and his whereabouts, in the heat of everything it never occured to him, and probably wouldn't for some time, that he'd in fact be responsible for any of this.

-

There wasn't much Margaret could say to convince Adamm otherwise about her mother. She had indeed taken her to England to start a new life, which succeeded - she had virtually no connection or recognition of her claims outside her adoptive home, and had risen the entire social hierarchy to become Queen Consort, as well as an untimely Queen Mother.

She looked as though she was about to say something else to him when she heard the voice of the other woman, instantly recognising the hair shared with herself and her son. She spent a split second glancing at each of the Knights following her as the woman approached her, reaching out towards her cheek. In any other situation she'd have snapped such familiarity away in an instant but for whatever reason she felt she couldn't.

"What do you mean 'in position'? For what?" Margaret said to Adamm, "and who are you?" she asked the other woman.
