Prologue
The Observers from beyond have arrived in an alternate universe, a realm plagued by rampant heresy in Tehrae before the Great Cleansing. Unlike their own world, here the sky was a brilliant blue, casting a brighter light over the land. However, the air was far colder, biting against their skin. Discarding the Bibleotech-issued gas mask, the Observer found the air thick but easier to breathe. Despite the risk of "rehabilitation" upon his return, the Observer harbored a deep curiosity about the Savior. He mused to himself, "Merely witnessing her in the flesh is enough; her heavenly sight has the power to cleanse one's tainted soul." While exploring the familiar yet foreign snowy wasteland, the Observer stumbled upon Her walking alone, clutching her rifle and shivering as if the heavens were ready to claim her prematurely. "Her presence is overwhelming," the Observer remarked, awestruck by the sight while trying to remain hidden to the Saviour Herself. It was difficult to imagine that their entire society began with this disheveled lone soldier. With his research tablet in hand, he diligently documented this unfolding biblical event, resisting the strong urge to interact with Kanaya herself, knowing that the consequences outweighed his personal desire. He began with; "Beyond Borealis"...

Home

After months of traversing the unforgiving Antarcticana wilderness, Kanaya finally returned to her hometown. A once-thriving mining community, it now lay in desolation, its buildings reduced to rubble by the War of Brothers. Among the ruins stood the remnants of a church, a place where Kanaya had sought solace in her darkest hours. Yet, even this sanctuary had not been spared from the destruction that gripped the town.

Memories flooded Kanaya's mind as she wandered through the remnants of her past. She called out to her family, her voice echoing through the silence, but there was no response. With a sinking feeling in her chest, she ventured into her old home, hoping against hope to find some semblance of familiarity amidst the chaos.

What she found inside was a scene of unimaginable horror. Her parents lay lifeless on the ground, their bodies already beginning to decompose. A single bullet wound marred each of their heads, their hands bound as if in a cruel mockery of restraint. Kanaya's heart shattered as she realized the magnitude of her loss. Tears streamed down her face as she knelt beside them, her sobs echoing through the empty rooms.

With trembling hands, Kanaya buried her parents, offering prayers for their souls to find peace in the afterlife. Exhausted and overwhelmed, she sought refuge in the only place she could call home, her childhood bedroom. The cold and emptiness of the room mirrored the void in her heart, but it was all she had left.

(Point of divergence)

Last night, she dreamt of herself succumbed to IT. IT have been an antagonist of her life, from telling her to hurt her classmate, starting a fire during her science presentation and even murder that poor kitten. She never succumbed to the voice, of course. IT was a horrible voice that have taunted her since her youth. In the dream, IT is not the IT she accustomed to. It was different, heavenly, almost like an angel even. IT told her to cause the Second Great Mistake. It was a long nightmare, too detailed even. "Haha, me as a messenger of God, who are tasked with ending the Antarticana Civil War, putting Antarticana under an ultratotalitarian theocratic dictatorship and dooming humanity itself.", She chuckled to herself, "That's one of an insane nightmare".

For that nightmare, Kanaya realized whatever happened to her in life, she will never sink that low. So low that she will doom her own kind.

Threefour O'Two

Months had passed since Kanaya's return to ATN-34-02, she joined forces with the former mayor to liberate their town from the clutches of a warlord. Their attempts at resistance had resulted in tragedy, leaving the townsfolk desperate and vulnerable. Kanaya, drawing on her military background, volunteered to scout out a rumored abandoned military base to give them a chance against the tyrant that rules the town.
"Tell me where it is, and I'll go survey the area," Kanaya urged the mayor.

"Alone? That's madness! I can't risk losing more lives," the mayor objected.

"We can't sit idly by while this tyrant drains us dry. Let me help. I'll make sure we have a fighting chance," Kanaya pressed.

Reluctantly, the mayor agreed to send along Karl, Simon, and Susan to accompany her. Going by, snowmobile, they set out toward the base, exchanging hushed conversation along the way. From their discussion, Kanaya learned more about her companions. Karl, with his agile fingers and quick wit, had once been a skilled thief. Susan had been a dedicated schoolteacher before the Civil War and have helped hidden the children of the village during the raid. Simon, the silent but deadly hunter, had honed his skills tracking game in the unforgiving wilderness. He had initially joined the war effort but ultimately defected after the collapse of authority, seeking a path of his own amidst the chaos.

Suddenly, they encountered a patrol of the warlord's goons. The sight of the armed and ruthless enforcers sent a chill down Kanaya's spine. They were savages, armed to the teeth, and known for their merciless brutality. If they were ever discovered, the consequences would be dire. Capture meant almost certain death or worse, being taken to "the Manor," a place from which no man ever returned, according to the mayor's warnings.

"Quick, hide in that snow pile!" Kanaya whispered urgently, leading the group to safety.

With quick thinking, Kanaya three of them to dig a makeshift hiding spot in the snow, shielding them from the passing patrol. Despite the biting cold, they remained hidden until the danger had passed.

As they approached the base, they found the entrance locked. "We need to get in there," Simon declared.

With Karl's expertise, they managed to pick the lock and gain entry. Inside, they found the base deserted but remained cautious, aware that danger could still lurk within. Kanaya stumbled upon a cache of C4 explosives and realized they might hold the key to accessing the armory room.

After planting the explosives on the door handle, they retreated to a safe distance before triggering the detonation. The resulting explosion was deafening, sending shockwaves through the air as the armored door crumbled to the ground. With the path now clear, the room revealed an impressive arsenal of weapons and supplies, a treasure trove for their cause.

However, the group remained vigilant, knowing that the nearby goons would likely have been alerted by the sound of the explosion. With haste, they gathered what they could carry, filling their bags with rifles, ammunition, and explosives. Their mission accomplished, Kanaya radioed the mayor to inform him of their success.

As Susan, Karl, and Simon prepared to transport the cache of weapons back to town, Kanaya remained behind. Returning to the room, she devised a cunning plan to deter any incoming goons. With expert precision, she rigged an explosive trap, strategically placing charges to create a deadly surprise for their adversaries.

With the trap set and their spoils secured, the group prepared to make their retreat. As they departed the base, they knew that their actions had struck a blow against the warlord's reign of terror. With newfound determination, they marched back to town, ready to defend their home against any who dared to threaten it.

"The operation went smoothly. We've secured a cache of weapons. Returning to base now," she reported.

"Good work, Kanaya. Stay safe," came the mayor's relieved response.

The Escape

Months had passed since the overthrow of the warlord, "People's Revolution" was proclaimed by the warlond only known as Fong. Originated from the inner region of Antarticana, the People's Revolution have unified the Eastern Antarticana by subjugating weaker warlords. The mayor surrendered to the so-called "Vanguards". It was the only option when faced with their ultimatum, leaving the group feeling as though their efforts had been in vain. The group is in hiding, fearing for their life, when they heard the news of the Vanguard began rounding up the town of the "class and people's traitors".

She is not ignorance of the true happenings in the People's Revolution, Kanaya is aware of the brutality of the People's Revolution and the risks they faced as former Democrat soldiers and defectors, Kanaya knew they had to escape the continent or face execution. With supplies gathered, they planned their journey northward to a former trading center, their best chance at leaving Antarticana behind. Unable to use their snowmobile due to the treacherous mountain ranges, they embarked on foot, their resolve unwavering.

As they ventured forth, they encountered Vanguard soldiers patrolling the snowy wasteland. Pursued and fired upon, they run for their lives, Susan shot and fell from the snowmobile. "NO!", Kanaya cried upon seeing her close companion have fallen. Reacting swiftly, Simon seized Kanaya's rifle and returned fire, shot the truck driver and the tire of the armored vehicle and halting the chase.

With the Vanguards temporarily thwarted, they pressed on, their destination drawing nearer with each step. The climb was arduous and harsh, testing their endurance to its limits. Yet, despite the unforgiving terrain, they pushed forward, driven by the promise of freedom that lay ahead.

As they reached the summit, their fatigue weighed heavy upon them, but they had made it unharmed. The distant city, a beacon of hope on the horizon. Setting up camp for the night, they sought refuge in the shadow of the mountains. The group mourned the loss of Susan, with Kanaya particularly affected by her death. Simon volunteered to keep watch over their camp, his eyes scanning the surrounding darkness for any signs of danger. With weary bodies and heavy hearts, the rest of the group settled in for much-needed rest.

Freedom

The situation is dire. The Vanguard Army have surrounded the North and stormed ATN-34-00. The city have become a warzone. Kanaya, Karl and Simon able to sneak through the frontline, hiding from the soldiers of both sides. Suddenly, a soldier found the three of them. The raised their hand and the soldiers alerted to their presence. In a panic, both the soldier and the group put up their weapons, starting a standoff.

The soldier noticed a Free Antarticana Coat of Arms on Kanaya's coat. "You are the Democrat?", Kanaya identifies her former ranks. "I know recognized you. ", "You are a soldier who saved me in ATN-08-02", said the soldier. Both sides lowered their rifles, a moment of understanding passing between them. "Please let us go, we just want to leave this continent," Kanaya pleaded with the soldier. "We all do, comrade," he replied, his voice tinged with resignation.

Kanaya wasted no time in asking if there were any ships left in the city. The soldier informed them that there was one ship remaining in the city, as the others had been used by defectors escaping to Petani. With gratitude in their hearts, the group thanked the soldier and made their way to the harbor.

Feeling motivated by their narrow escape, the group hurried to the boat and started the engine. To their relief, it roared to life, the sound of its motor. Not only did it work, but they were also pleasantly surprised to find that it had enough fuel to reach Petani, offering them a chance at a fresh start far from the turmoil of Antarticana.

With Karl at the helm, navigating their way through the open sea, Simon and Kanaya took a moment to rest from the exhaustion of their harrowing journey. As they leaned against the railing of the boat, they looked back at the icy continent disappearing into the distance. The sounds of gunfire and bombs continued to echo across the land, a grim reminder of the chaos they had left behind.

As the ship sailed further into the open sea, the view of Antarcticana faded into the horizon, gradually disappearing from sight.

Aftermath

Kanaya had settled into life as a mechanic in a small desert town within Petani, finding solace in the simplicity of life. Despite the distance, she maintained regular contact with Karl and Simon, the bonds of their shared journey enduring even as they went their separate ways.

As she reflected on the events of two years prior, her mind wandered back to the day they arrived in Petani, apprehended by the Petanian Coastguard. The interrogation had been brief but intense, their status as Antarticana refugee raising suspicion. The interrogation had been brief but intense, the stern questions probing into their past and intentions. Yet, despite the initial apprehension, they were ultimately released, deemed to be not a threat to Petani's security.

"Welcome to the Technate of Petani, Antarticanan," the stern interrogator had gruffly declared, his words carrying a weight of authority.

Kanaya's thoughts were abruptly interrupted by the news report blaring from the TV, capturing her full attention. It was an update on the Antarcticana Civil War, a conflict that had once engulfed her homeland in chaos and bloodshed.

"The Antarcticana Civil War has concluded," the news anchor announced gravely, the weight of the words sinking in. "The Vanguard Army of the People's Revolution has emerged victorious over the Loyalist factions, leading to the official declaration of the unification of Antarcticana." Kanaya's heart clenched at the news, a mixture of relief and concern flooding her mind.

"On that day," the anchor continued, "Premier Fong Lim Arthur declared the formation of the 'People's National Republic of Antarcticana.' In his speech, Premier Fong outlined his ambitious plans to rebuild Antarcticana in the image of the Soviet's Collectivist ideals, aiming to elevate the country to superpower status once more."

As the report delved deeper into Premier Fong's agenda for the nation, Kanaya couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The reports of mass purges, political suppressions, and the cult of personality surrounding Premier Fong, as recounted by defectors from Antarcticana, were denied by the new government.

"Now, the weather..." the TV announcer's voice trailed off, transitioning to a mundane topic after the weighty news of the civil war. Kanaya are grateful that she and her friends have made it to Petani. Though, fate have other plans for Susan. She couldn't join Kanaya in their promise of a new life. Despite the sorrow of her loss, Kanaya couldn't help but feel grateful for their narrow escape from the clutches of the PNRA.

Reality Check
Two years had passed since he last laid eyes on Her, ever since Kanaya and her remaining companions boarded that ship and departed from Antarticana. Forced to abandon the dying city, the Observer embarked on a journey to find another means of continuing his documentation. Disguising himself as one of the Antarticanan refugees, he managed to secure passage on a ship filled with hundreds of displaced souls. Evading the vigilant coastguards, he slipped unnoticed into Terran-occupied Nokai.

Upon arrival, he immersed himself in the culture of the Terrans, learning their language and integrating into their society. He despised the idea of associating with the descendants of his ancient oppressors, he understood the necessity for his mission. Taking on the guise of a desert wanderer, his sole purpose remained to track the Saviour and continue his documentation

Two years later, on the 5th of September 2182, the Observer found himself in the desolate desert town of PTN-52-21. He couldn't help but scoff at the absurdity of Terran naming conventions. As he strolled along the dusty streets, his gaze was drawn to a local vehicle repair shop. Inside, a woman with striking violet hair worked diligently, her hands skilled and precise. "How could the Heavenly delegate be reduced to the role of a mere mechanic? A defector to her own kind, no less!" His thoughts were abruptly interrupted as the woman noticed his gaze.

"Hello? Sir, are you okay?" she inquired, her voice breaking through his thoughts.

Failed Attempted Coup against the Premier's Revolutionary Government
21 December 2182

At exactly 12 a.m. on December 21, 2182, the Vanguard detachment entered Yainan city. The palace guards allowed the group to enter the Palace of the Masses without much resistance.

Among the group of conspirators, the Minister of State Affairs, Kanya Ling, the Minister of People's Agriculture, Andrew Lam, and the National Head of Congress, Deng Wa, were identified as conspirators against the Fong regime. Premier Fong and ministers loyal to him were dragged out of the palace, seemingly captured and arrested by the group. Despite the coup being carried out silently, the palace guards who witnessed the events unfolding immediately contacted General Tang-li Hudson of the Vanguard army. Tang ordered a larger Vanguard army to siege the People's Palace. Before the group could arrest Fong, the much larger Vanguard army led by Tang surrounded the People's Palace. Upon hearing this news, the conspirators gagged and tied Fong at gunpoint, threatening to kill him if the Vanguard army entered the palace walls.

At 6 a.m., six hours since the coup started, the conspirators gave up and surrendered to the Vanguard Army surrounding the Palace of the Masses, ending the attempted overthrow of Premier Fong.

Premier Fong has since addressed the nation, condemning the treacherous actions of the conspirators and vowing to restore stability to Antarctica. "Today was a terrifying ordeal for the People's Revolution," stated Premier Fong. "We will take decisive action against those responsible and ensure such incidents never happens in Antarticana history again."

The conflict, which has been raging for more than 3 decades, has seen intense guerrilla warfare waged by separatists within the Integrated Technate of Xixang. Casualty rates have soared, and the strain on the Terran economy, according to recent census data.

The ongoing decadence within the UTN is an extension of conflicts caused by the rise of neo-nationalism within its borders. Despite the totalitarian nature of the UTN government, which employs mass propaganda, dissemination of misinformation, mass arrests, and forced assimilation, the Terran government has failed to contain and suppress the voices calling for autonomy and independence. More recent efforts to suppress identities, displace communities, and eradicate Pre-Great Mistake ideas within conquered territories by Terrans have largely backfired, fueling the collapse of Terran authority.

The loss of an integral Terran region has marked the end of Terran dominion in Asia and diminished Terran as a main threat to the Western world. The Directorate and the Terran government has refused to comment on the situation.
