In response 15 thermobaric rockets were launched against RF occupied territory killing 8800 rebel fighters including 9 high ranking battlefield commanders, 25 lieutenants, 70 insurgent commanders and 1100 elite fighters.
In an unheard of mode of attack, the RF used a child as a delivery device for a suicide bombing.
