Anyone got some cards to spare for my collection? I'm collecting mostly Flanders inspired nations, Belgian inspired are also nice to have.

It's basic lore so it's not that detailed 😅

Re: Poll
Some of my personal favourites are Iceland, Panama, Canada, Bahamas, St Kitties, St Lucia, Estonia, Cyprus, Seychelles, Bhutan, Vanuatu, South Korea a lot.
South Korea would be the #1 since I'm totally not biased. Other than it though the best one is the Seychelles.

Austria is a nice country, it's fantastic, but their flag is a big minus.
jk I like it 🇦🇹

No it is a minus it’s Switzerland flag but they stretched one of the lines to make it a minus

Poll: My favourite flag is Albania however I also like South Korea and Canada

Poll: My favorite is Nepal simply due to how different it is, I also like patterning and the coloring of it. However, coming in a close second is Barbados, I mean come on it has a TRIDENT in the middle!

I have a question for all nations. If your nation recently discovered oil or natural gas deposits in your territory... would your government extract the resources or act in the interest of the planet and invest in renewables?

Following the advent of electric cars in 1998, and climate movements in the mid 2000s, the world started moving away from oil or natural gas. Extraction methods proved extremely dangerous for workers, locals and the environment alike. Calls for the near-complete replacement of gas-fueled items also grew.

Concern for the climate and the future of the inhabitants of Earth is far greater in this timeline, primarily because of the 9 billion people currently existing today. This leads countries to start making hard pushes towards climate friendly options, even despite the strong discouragement from the affected industries.

As car manufacturers moved on from producing the largely expensive, inefficient, gas-fueled cars to producing the more efficient and cheaper electric cars, the power and influence of oil and gas companies gradually weakened.

One of the countries that made extreme pushes towards climate friendly options is Pilipinas and Malaya, imposing a complete ban on gas-powered items since 2013. The discovery of this patch of oil would be regarded as completely worthless, especially since laws have been put in place to bar construction of new oil harvesting facilities.

This also does mean that lithium is a more highly sought out resource than OTL, and other forms of batteries are being developed as alternatives to lithium batteries.

Depends if it's in a colony or not

In a colony the government would immediately begin extracting, however in the mainland, they would probably extract a small portion of the gas and use the profits from that to invest in renewables.

It’s hard for a flag nerd to pick just one flag. I chose Albania because among listed it’s the best one for me (Barbados following) not only because I’m biased lol but also bc I really like it

Also feeling good to see a lot of mentions of Estonia 😎

Re: poll
The American flag is, in my opinion, hideous. Trying to cram 50 stars in the canton make it look cluttered, the colours are over-used as the UK, France, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Chile and many, many more all use the exact same ones, and it uses the ungodly 10:19 ratio. All around an bad looking flag.

And before our local US defence force comes after me, I’m simply expressing an opinion. Don’t take it personally.

Are there other stans here (i mean they have stan at the end of their name)

Oh you bet, bullet trains are especially prominent in Kwongtung, Gvangjsih, Taiwan, the three federal districts and the surrounding areas

Don't look up the flag the US used between 1775 and 1777
