Its funny how those larpers said that they are their own country and that they were independent from the USA but then started blaming the police for not sending aid when someone got shot.
It's an unfortunate death, R.I.P but that wasn't the USA's fault, it was the CHAZ's fault

What about when they killed a 16 year old for doing donuts in a jeep.
A real police officer would've arrested them.
These guys killed them.
That seems like police brutality to me. Also when they assaulted multiple people for tagging, how the first "leader" was literally an abuser, how a rapper literally made the place a police state.

I said I supported their cause, and not their methods - as an NZer I am not particularly fond of illegal occupations of public places, see the 2022 New Zealand Parliament occupations, although in some cases I consider occupations a valid protest tactic.

Act one of Three: All taking place back in year two of the RP the starting year.

The Royal Capital of Tea Town. Once the center of the world and the undisputed richest city on all of Mars is but a fraction of its former glory. Before the disaster (asteroid impact) this city was the largest in the world hosting a population nearing 900 thousand maybe even a million unofficially. Yet now, it sits in a rough and shameful estimate of anywhere between just 20,000 to 60,000 people, the great disaster killed over half the city's population and a large majority of the survivors fled east and south or to the mainland's remnants of the empire's colonial holdings. Those who remain are constantly on the break of famine, revolt, and hard-stricken poverty, all the while 80% of the city remains in rubble and redevelopment has been paralyzed by the lack of government planners and the lack of a functioning Monarch. Giving rise to a new slum class of citizens centred around the black market and criminal activities. A pirate stronghold has formed at the remains of the Royal Dockyards, creating a menace to the seas.

The great Costal Estate of Tea Town is the house of the Royal government's power, north of the Royal docks and situated on a cliff. It is where the leadership comes to meet for high-stakes meetings and discussions. Meanwhile, the everyday management of the Kingdom was split between 10 cities, 3 of which were on the mainland. Now post-disaster the royal council requested the queen to centralize the everyday working of the federal government to but 3 cities all located on the main island, this was granted by Her Majesty. One of the first priorities of the Government since the disaster was the rebuilding of the destroyed Coastal Estate, however, it has too been paralyzed by infighting between factions. Some desired to rebuild the Estate as a perfect replica of the former, others wanted a total redesign to embrace new ideas of architecture such as star fortresses. Yet a huge accomplishment was made by the young Queen herself. Given the city of Tea Town has been given a blank slate after the disaster it gave an opportunity to rebuild the city using a mix of traditional and new designs. Since then, the Queen has tripled the size of the Coastal Estate eastward (inland) to allow for a rebuilding of the old Royal Meeting House brick by brick and allow for more modern proto-Victorian-style development elsewhere. Meanwhile, a massive park plaza was planned to link the old to new buildings and oddly enough constitution went well. The Coastal Estate is where the Queen and Royal Barron Loxdont shall be married. Loxdont chose the huge gardens between the old Coastal Estate and the new proto-Victorian-style administrative buildings. Symbolically bridging the gap between the old and new, and showing his intentions to respect the old as well embracing the new.

---

The courtyard is packed. A huge temporary stage was built of fine old wood, a choice deliberate to show the Nobles that something as precious as old sturdy wood is but a floor to step on for the all-powerful Queen and soon-to-be King. It is a symbolic showing of the otherworldly personal wealth the Royal family and its Cadet branches still hold. After all the Sir Snows, and its Cadet branch the Sir Waters, Sir Ice, Sir Seas, and Madam Towers are collectively controllers of unimaginable wealth. Wealth unfortunately bleeding and hemorrhaging daily as the crown struggles to pay bills with the state coffers and is forced to dip into personal wealth to simply keep the kingdom financially solvent.

The garden is lively as over a thousand nobles from across the island gather to witness the marriage between the Queen and Loxdont. Some people are cheering, well others are mumbling, this marriage is after all controversial for a number of reasons. For one Loxdont will have to die in just a few years. Meanwhile, child marriages are extremely looked down upon as not only sinful but unnatural. Yet the scholars determined in this case it would be possible given many conditions, such as Loxdonts death in a few years.

---

The day is stunning, it is nearing sundown as the ocean in the distance from the garden begins to shimmer with yellow and orange, the small ball of fire so far away warms the chairs of the guests, chairs soon to be occupied as a Royal servant informs the guest's from the platform that the ceremony is soon to begin. A few Cleric's and the High Cleric begin to bring up an assortment of items, all used for the marriage ceremony. In Wave Run Corals, marrying one isn't just to them, but pledging yourself to the gods once more.

Two paths of carpet have been laid out to the platform. One coming from the direction of the new administration building, and the other from the ancient Estate. Loxdont must approach first to the platform, as the monarch is always second as they are not allowed to be kept waiting for another. A carriage approaches the carpet leading to the new administration building. The carriage is pulled by two horses and is covered in silver, bronze, and blue gems, gems from the old world. A group of four Royal guards are accompanying the carriage with TIS "hybrid" weapons, these weapons being crossbows but with an added single-shot hand cannon attachment.

Soon the Royal Barron Loxdont steps out of the carriage, the rest of the nobles sitting swiftly after. Loxdont is wearing a dark blue Naval uniform not because he's in the Navy, but to appease the Naval faction, with jewels and gems displaying his House's wealth on his uniform. He walks up to the platform slowly, the guards always only 4 steps behind him, and the guests are quiet, well those sitting closest to the carpet and Loxdont throwing seeds of common plants at him. It's a traditional thing to do, representing that once you are married to another you two are like seeds, and shall grow and eventually blossom together. He steps up to the stage, 2 high-ranking clerics and the High Cleric standing in his way. The High Cleric holding a thurible from a silver chain, the thurible is made of gold, a herbal blend of smoke coming from it. The high cleric raises the thurible and swings it around the sides of Loxdonts face.

High Cleric: "The gods bless you on this day, and bless you with wisdom of words. Pray to the God of God's and to the God of wisdom tonight. May you sprout like sturdy Wheat and reap a harvest enough to feed a village." The cleric stands to the side as Loxdont steps forth to the middle of the platform.

Meanwhile, from the opposite direction, a carriage adorned in gold, and hereditary symbols approaches. Inside shall be the Queen... She steps out, The crowd stands up even as she is still relatively far away, they bow for now, yet as she approaches the platform each row of Nobles gets down to perform a prostration for her out of respect and duty. The only people to not prostrate are the royal guards who instead bow their heads, and Loxdont who kneels, meanwhile the clerics do not bow at all, as they serve the gods every day already.

The Queen steps up to the platform and the High Cleric throws some holy sea water onto the queen, and chants a powerful blessing.
High Cleric: "Today in the Name of the God of God's, and in the eyes of the God of Commitment and Marriage, we are to conjoin these two souls into one united one. One incapable of separation, one built on servitude, as told by the old ways and duty of the Crown and Monarch. We perform this necessary action of sacrifice, sin, and duty, for the same reason as did our God of God's Tea. We do not understand many of our ways, nor traditions yet we understand that we still perform them as our gods did when they were but mortals... ... ... Now I shall recite to you one of our oldest and most sacred stories of which we all know, we recite this story anytime we have a marriage, the reason why is a simple one. A marriage is a commitment to each other, and a commitment to the Crown and Nation. An idea again lost in the blinding glory of what was a great Empire..."
"Long ago this planet was a paradise and ruled by mad gods of old. This paradise was not made for mortal folk but a paradise for the gods to play with, to torment the mortals with games and war's. One day a lone human we now call Tea rose up against the mad gods, and in part, his act of defiance and rebellion against the cruel mad gods of old sparked a greater revolution one that spread across the planet. Eventually the mad gods of old where cast to the depths of hell itself, defeated by mortal humans and their powers stripped. But by defeating the gods the power that kept this planet alive began to die. Tea learned through his acts of great deeds and becoming a man known to all, a legend for history to remember. Gave him the ability to become a god himself and save the world. Tea took upon himself a great sacrifice and chose to take in the vestiges of the mad God's powers still left over, and ascended to the position of the God of God's. Yet many other legendary Saints and Prophets in this era of old ascend with Tea as God's, taking upon the burden themselves of this mad power. Our God's though did not have the powers the mad Gods once had, as most of the power had faded by the time Tea chose to ascend the throne and become a God himself. But with the powers they did have, they managed to bestowed upon us these Holy Towers, which give us life. We tell this story as we believe that if Tea alone took upon all the power of the mad gods, he would have become a mad God himself, but because a group of people decided to share the burden and sacrifice with him, that joint sacrifice managed to allow of them to keep their humanity."
"This is just a story, and our holy book has many contradictions to what this story entails, yet we have forgotten the importance of the story. We have become clouded with Empire fever and ideals of Glory in battle, we have forgotten our duty to not only uphold traditions but embrace the future. We have left our relationship with our Gods and have begun to live in sin, we sin as we have forgotten the empathy of all those we wrong, we have become exactly what Tea and the others fought against... We became akin to Mad God's."
"With this story in mind, our Holy and Divine Queen has decided to officially cast away our title and claimant to being an Empire. And from now on, we only claim to be but a proper and civilized Queendom."

The crowd of nobility is silent, the idea that the empire is truly over is a shock to many.

Standard Cleric: "Tis is the moment, well solemn truth lays upon our minds, we shall perform this marriage of duty."

High Cleric: "Step forth Loxdont, and kneel before the book of Tea." A cleric puts a holy book on a table at the back of the platform. Loxdont kneeling in front of it. "Do you pledge yourself Loxdont that you are one of loyalty to our Gods?"
Loxdont: "I do."
"Do you pledge that your faith has been steady and you have remained loyal to our Gods?"
"Yes, I do."
"So you decree that you are capable of marriage under the faith of the gods?"
"I do High Cleric."
"Then you are fit of mind, and in the eyes of the God of God's Tea decreed to marry."

Loxdont stands, and steps back, the High cleric now stepping before the queen, holding a scroll with gold paper. High Cleric: "Our Divine and most Holy Queen, I ask before you to listen to the words of Tea, and convey his desires... Our Holy god, do you behest and bless this marriage set before your very blood."
Queen: "I do accept this proposal."
High Cleric: "Do you object to any of the terms set beforth this marriage."
Queen: "The realm of the gods do not see any ob- objections..."
"Then now I ask if you our Queen, of independent mind, do you object to this marriage?"
"... ... ...n-... n.- No I do not..."

...

High cleric: "Then it is now to begin the ceremony of marriage. Loxdont, come forth before our Holy Queen, and bow before her holiness." Loxdont steps closer to the queen, as he kneels to her level, lowering his head before her. "Do you Barron Loxdont Sir Waters pledge your life to her Majesty the Queen."
Loxdont: "I pledge my life and very being to Her Majesty the Queen."
"Do you pledge you will obey the queen for any wish for as long as it does not defile her godliness?"
"I do pledge to obey our Queen's every wish for as long as it does not defile her divinity."
"Do you pledge to obey our Gods, and serve as King with only the behest of the nation and of its subjects in mind."
"I do."
"Then, do you pledge to die before our Holy Queen's tenth birthday, in order to preserve her pureness."
"...I do pledge to die before our Queen's tenth birthday of maturity."
"Our Queen, do you take this man's words to be fruitful and wholeheartedly honest."

Queen: "I do take he was honest."

High Cleric: "Then before the gods I pronounce you Wife and Husband, all hail the Queen, all hail the obedient King. All hail the Supreme King Consort and praise the Holy Queen!" The nobles clap with pride. Loxdont is adorned with a crown. Loxdont then separately from the Queen with a normal cleric performs the rites to allow himself to become a vessel for the gods to speak through. And thus, concluding the marriage... Besides the three speeches, the King must now do for the three major power groups of the Queendom...

A few moments later the Queen is taken to the side of the platform and she sits on the royal travel throne. Meanwhile, Loxdont now walks up to the podium, his head and hair dripping with salt water, after performing the rite of the gods.

Loxdont: "As this nation's Supreme King's Consort I shall serve in my whole in the duty of our Queen. Everything I shall do shall be for the benefit of the Queen, all of my actions shall be to ensure the long-term prosperity of this nation. And ensure the legacy of our Royal bloodline shall not end. Our Queendom and this world have had it's eyes opened, we have seen for a brief moment what it is to gaze into the void. The void that can swallow us whole and destroy this world and all that our gods have worked to protect. We are not void of sin. Our actions well pushing this world into a golden age, nevertheless took away the lives of so many. Taking away the culture, wealth and independence of countless people, thus our God's must be ashamed of us. This nation is a union of the strength of the subjects, and the nobility under the Crown. A union only possible under the binding glory of the Crown and Monarchy. We had forgotten that the subjects give our titles meaning, and in the end, just as the peasants serve us, we have a duty to serve them. Our God's make no distinction of who may become a God. We have forgotten the overwhelming sacrifice Tea has given to this world. It is still clear to all that Tea did not have others bow to him, but Tea bowed down to the very subjects who served him. It is said that he devoted his life to serving the poor, serving the weak, and uniting the subjects of our realm under the name of the Crown. We are all subjects to someone in our own rite. We may not be farmers or soldiers, but we work to police the nation, protect the nation, and pass laws for the nation. Whether my life be short or long, I shall commit my entire self and being for the nation, for the Crown. As it is our duty to Tea, it is our duty to serve with all our being, we seek progress, the betterment of the nation, and thus the betterment of our subjects, and in part embracing changing ideas. All of these ideas are ones that bring us closer to becoming gods ourselves, becoming legends and stories: kindness and goodness triumph over hatred. The many greats, the wises, and the powerful all go down in history as gods, meanwhile, the bads, the terribles and the evils go down as demons, and are casted down to be eventually forgotten. I pledge my entire being to you all, I pledge that I will serve this nation until my dying breath, as the curse now put upon me as Husband to the royal Queen is to seek to become a God myself! And to be a god, is to serve and be a great. Be a wise, be a powerful. I will aspire to be all these things, as the crown desires it to be. I aspire for our children to live in a world better than it is now. It is our duty to serve not only for this generation but for all of those who have yet to come, our duty to the Crown is to ensure utmost that the future of the Monarchy is absolute. And to remember all those who severed in the past as well. I pledge my very body, to you all. I pledge that I will bleed, sweat, and suffer for this nation, yet I cannot succeed in this task alone. I ask upon you, the Nobility and Royalty to serve with me and all aspire to become greater than this Queendom is now. Aspire to live up to our subject's needs and provide for them as Tea desires it to be ..."

The large group stands up clapping and cheering the King. Some of the younger more immature nobility begin to sing out songs about the strength and love of the Monarchy and Crown to all of its subjects. Yet most simply clap. Loxdont is swift to leave as he has two groups of people waiting for his other coronation speeches. He must also address the peasantry and then the merchants of the nation.
Who knows when I'll finish the other two speeches, it's hard to write for medieval folks who are still super religious and had no form of "secular awakening"

0. Your social democracy fascism has finally led you to neoliberalism, huh?
1. Nobody ever said DPRK is a great place to live in. Yet don't forget about sanctions and local specifics that don't allow even for the creation of proper agriculture.
In this regard, Cuba is a way better example - they managed to make it through the 90s all alone, through the Special Period, without sacrificing neither people nor economy nor Marxist principles.
2. Workers are a resource in the market economy. High unemployment is not a direct consequence of benefits and lazy Mexicans workers, but of the capitalist system which feels great when the people are ready to cut each other's throats and sell themselves cheaper - all for getting at least some food and some semblance of financial stability.
But yeah, I am all for the fight against parasitism - given the proper social conditions.

True.

Interestingly, while North Korea doesn’t have Internet access (at least not for more than like a few thousand people and also a couple of computer labs with Internet access in universities), it does have an intranet (basically a separate internet):

If the DPRK weren't such dicks to everyone they would be able to import food until more advances in agriculture came that allowed them to grow their own food. Cuba IS a better example, but it ain't any paradise either. I agree that capitalism has led to extremely stupid reasons for unemployment. For example, a billionaire could just buy a company and then lay off half the workers *cough* twitter *cough*

Overview of the rest of Year Two and Three in TIS for the Roleplay:

Marriage between the Queen and the King - Middle of Year two.

Middle of year two- The King abolishes obsolete title's and roles which pertain to the operations of the defunct empire.

Late of year two- The king formulates a council of Nobles from the reform faction to go through red tape and obsolete bureaucracy in the queendom from the law books retained from the defunct Empire.

End of year two- Merchant guild's request Naval support for port security due to the rise of pirate operations out of crown ports, a request denied due to the navies already over stretched naval units battling Pirates on the east coast.

Start of Year three- The rebuilding of the Tea Town begins with direct orders from Loxdont. Much of the former town is to be rebuilt tighter and higher. Meanwhile the Queen's obsession with frogs has caused much of past costal land and areas pertaining streams to be designed crown lands, and the establishment of a royal marshland protection zone for the allowing of nature to reform for at the pleasure of the Queen. Unintentionally forming a protected Greenbelt across the heart of Tea Town.

Early of Year three- Loxdont slashes funding for the Army by large amounts and smaller cuts to the navy, royal spending is slashed, and the layoff of thousands of towns guards across the queendom is situated to save money. Yet the books are still not balanced due to tax evasion from the nobility.

Near middle of year three- Loxdont forms the creation of a Tax collection agency in tandem with the army, returning some of their slashed funding and a promise to fully fund garrison units on the Mars mainland in two years time. Army units with support of accountants begin to harass and seize noble property when taxes are unpaid. Much of the nobles class including those in Loxdonts reform faction are displeased. The books are now projected to become balanced once the nobility in great numbers pay taxes, which will take a few years to fully implemented.

Middle of year three- A short famine known as the "Dark Web famine" takes hold killing 20 thousand on the island. Major riots spill into the capital and army units brutally suppressed rioters, many fleeing to the now pirate-controlled ports which are then put under siege by Army units. However army units don't have the money or equipment to enter the ports themselves against heavily armed pirates allowing the Pirates to continue to run free on the sea, forming an unofficial uneasy ceasefire. However onetime army units are pushed back, without putting up a fight against the pirates due to lack of pay.

Late of year three- Pirates continue to grow in threat, some ports in the capital now rivaling the power of the Tea Town local government itself. 70% of the town is branded "pirate territory" in which the town's Crown appointed Governor has instructed local guard watchers to not enter, effectively capitulating the majority of the town to pirates. Army units meanwhile have fallen back and created a dug in perimeter around the pirate-controlled sections of the town. The king eventually appointing a "Dictator of the forces" a very powerful army position only used in times of emergency to give the army special privileges. The king directs the Dictator to "hold the pirate scum at bay and not allow a single more block of the town to be seized." With the remaining 30% of the town including the government district now kept relatively safe from further pirate infiltration. On the rest of the island things remain stable, but people are still starving.

End of year three- Loxdont announces the first ever tax of the "lower classes" with all home owners in the nation requiring to pay a 2 Copper coin home tax to help pay for local government. Pirates continued to be kept at bay. And the Council of Nobles established before hand, to eliminate red tape and unneeded bureaucracy finishes the report which greatly angers the traditionalists. However Loxdont immediately approved the large majority of reforms proposed outside of those which would eliminate "undeeded royal institutions" such as the "Crown Watcher's of the Jungle" or "Her divine Majesty's keeper of the swan's." Seeing those institutions as important historical pillars of the culture of the Queendom. However the new taxes for all home owners pushes more into starvation. The King sends out scrolls declaring a public announcement that the King shall solve the hunger crisis shortly, and subsidized bread shall be provided to area's of the nation which remain "orderly and lawful" which clearly excludes the pirate territory in Tea Town.

Hot Take (for some reason)
Japan deserved the nuclear bombings and saying that the USA committed warcrimes against Japan ignores all the horrific atrocities committed by Japan in China, Korea, Phillipines and other South East Asian countries. If the USA hadn't bombed the 2 cities, millions of both American and Japanese soldiers would have died. Say what you want about atrocities the USA has committed, but Hiroshima and Nagasaki were necessary evils. Many journalists (Mostly Al Jazeera) say that the USA hasn't taken accountability for the bombings but fail to mention that the Japanese have committed some of the worst atrocities ever, including the Rape of Nanking, that was so bad a literal NAZI had to help the civilians because even HE thought Japan was committing unacceptable warcrimes. They ALSO fail to mention the billions of dollars in aid the USA gave to Japan to help them rebuild.
