Hello my cold friends! I know this may be controversial, but if anyone has a moment, please feel free to help make the World's Largest Potato the most liked Wonder of the World!

page=wonder/wid=1001448

I haven't noticed this info elsewhere so the Office Of Regional Tourism Promotion In The Arctic (a very real agency that has always existed) is happy to bring to you the occasionally-updated list of Arctic Wonders:

Blaenavon: East Mendelstahl Tower - page=wonder/wid=1001127
Maas: The Grand Crepe Maze - page=wonder/wid=1001143
Norse Inuit Union: Symbol of Union - page=wonder/wid=1000090
The Arctics: The Presidential Hut - page=wonder/wid=1002384

Also for more distant travels, here are some of the notable wonders in our embassy regions:

Antarctic Anonyms: Nopr - page=wonder/wid=1001349

Exxosia: Braag'miir Interstellar Spaceport and BBQ - page=wonder/wid=1001956
Fiah: Psychiatry of Zealotry - page=wonder/wid=1000292

It's on our regional map too: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-y4ten2f4hUpYmGuDxazUoAtdButF1_8/view About halfway through the southern slush fields of Exxosia.

I find the various activity feeds I'm seeing highly amusing (The State of The World began crafting something using Blueprint Common and Patriotic Flag Common. The attempt to craft something with Blueprint Common and Patriotic Flag Common was unsuccessful. One Blueprint Common was lost, etc). I'm just picturing a dazed and confused looking person (perhaps the leader of a nation) dressed in generic business wear, jacket off and sleeves rolled up, stumbling around in a shady back room somewhere trying to attach these random items together with their hands and being totally nonplussed when it doesn't work out. When one of the items is lost, they let out a mildly disappointed 'uh' before moving on to the next thing.

I would have enjoyed...

1. 'The attempt to craft something with Fashion Show Runway Uncommon and Wizard's Wand Uncommon was unsuccessful. Several Propeller Airplanes Uncommon were lost.'

2. 'Wonder: Lawmaker's Assembly 'The attempt to craft something with Hoard of Ancient Coins Rare and Five Star Destination Resort Rare was successful. All Knowledge Resource was lost. Your bribe will remain safely undetected.'

3. 'The attempt to craft something with Stone Pickaxe Common and Keg of Beer Common was unsuccessful. All resources were lost.'

I didn't get to the more complex things but I did enjoy thinking about the finest engineers, scientists and craftsmen all tumbling down a step ladder - only for the project manager to inform the parliament that "We're sorry, everyone... the attempt to combine a patriotic flag with a cozy hut was once again unsuccessful."

I'm happy to say that this turned out the most wonderous wonder of the Arctics, taking the 122nd place worldwide of over 4000 entries. Congratulations to Blaenavon! And good game to Norse Inuit Union, The Arctics and myself.

Maas 🤣 Woah! No way! Brilliant! Obviously the upvotes weren't the biggest factor then 🥳🎉! Good game all. Edit: Hey, great write up. I didn't realise there was (or more accurately didn't give enough thought to looking for) a complete ranking of the wonders somewhere. I assume the list has gone now?

It's still up here: page=wonders but they wiped the images less than a day after the end, so it's just a boring read now.

As per autumn referendums, it's now time for regional government election season once again!

Just to remind everyone: the prime minister position is not too much effort, application is open to both WA and non-WA members, 6-month term, regional Governor remains unchanged.

Anyone interested in applying for the position should either post their intention here on the regional message board or send a telegram to The Ice Bears or Maas. Make your candidacy known by 21 April at latest if interested. Election week will hopefully be 22-28 April.

¯\_ (ツ)_/¯

i just set a religion for glorious Kaiser Reich

Regional election now up as a poll.

Voting open to all residents, in case of a tie the WA votes will decide. Listed below are the platforms of the "two candidates". Yes, this is at least partially an attempt to create the illusion of democracy.

I'm thinking of a mild regional government reform, finalizing the constitution, creating some more Arctic symbols (medals maybe), more polls, etc. No promises but hopefully the summer will be slow enough.

As we are now. We will still have a flag contest and cooperate on events, no worries.

Next election will take place in October 2024.

Maas is glad to announce that in the regional government poll created by Maas, the winning option was to confirm Maas as the new prime minister, winning over the option of keeping Maas as the non-prime-minister. Maas wishes to thank everyone who trusted Maas with the position.

Question was: As no other candidate has come forward, we have another formality poll. However as the current Maas tenure is itself a technicality, here are two options to make it a bit more interesting.

And the results:
1. Confirm Maas as the regional Prime Minister (might involve some new policy initiatives): 6 votes
2. Reject Maas as the regional Prime Minister (the current Maas stewardship will still continue): 0 votes

Regional flag contest coming up next in a bit!
