Of course! Our roleplay is only available to our citizens, so you will have to gain citizenship first. To do that, follow the instructions on the dispatch below:

Citizenship

_ Obaining Citizenship

Alcris is a region with a lot of layers to it's community, and as such likes to accept nations who will help the region grow for the long term. However, this requires stricter immigration policies in the eyes of the Council, and as such it can take a little longer for one to become a citizen of Alcris as compared to some other regions on NationStates, though the process is not as difficult as you may think.

There are four paths to citizenship, each with different requirements.

If you qualify to apply for one of the pathways to citizenship below, contact our Interior Councilor, currently Ryanius, via telegram or discord dm, and they will help you through the process.

_ Path A

Pathway A shall grant any nation who has held WA status in a nation located within the region of Alcris, and is actively endorsing the delegate (currently Ventus Prime), citizenship in the region once they have resided in Alcris for a period lasting longer than 12 hours. Their citizenship shall remain in place as long as they are actively endorsing the WA Delegate.

_ Path B

Pathway B shall grant any nation who is not a WA nation citizenship on the condition that they have a sponsor in Alcris for their citizenship, so long as that sponsor has held their citizenship in Alcris for longer than a period of one year. Individuals seeking pathway B citizenship must have a discord account on the regional discord, and must verify to the Interior Councilor their non-puppet status. Individuals must have a nation residing in Alcris for a period lasting one week.

_ Path C

Pathway C shall grant individuals who have provided an extraordinary service to the community the opportunity to have their citizenship granted through the unanimous vote of the council as recognition for their duties to the region. Citizenship shall only be maintained while the individual holds a puppet nation in Alcris. The government may revoke this citizenship status at any time.

_ Path D

Pathway D shall grant individuals citizenship if they hold dual citizenship agreements in Alcris. Regulations on this pathway shall depend on the provisions within within the dual citizenship treaty (see Interregional Treaties).

    ROLEPLAY UPDATE
The March Goes On: Alcris Enters the Industrial Era! Plus: new regional map to be released soon! | 67 minutes ago

_Roleplay Overview

Welcome to the Roleplay of Alcris! Here, you'll find everything you need to get started in our roleplay. Alcris' roleplay is one of its strongest assets. Here, we strive to create a detailed, storied world from the ground up. That's right, we even start in ancient times to make sure everything is built up logically and continuously.

Everything you need to know about our world is located on this dispatch. Chances are, if you can't find it here, it'll be in a linked dispatch somewhere else. This includes the roleplay's rules, a brief summary of each nation, links to important sites for our roleplay, and much more!

_Our Map

Our map is currently under a reconstruction! It should be published for the consumption of the general public sometime this week! Thank you to all those nations who helped us work on it!

_Applying for our Roleplay

To apply for our roleplay, please fill out the application located on our regional discord. Make sure you answer each question to the best of your ability. Otherwise, you may telegram our culture councilor, Averra, to get started.

Should you have any questions about the form, contact our Culture Councilor, currently Averra, or any one of our Roleplay Admins: Hearthrune and Ryanius.

_Our Rules

Alcris values the cohesion, quality, and detail of its roleplay. As such, our rules tend to be geared to maintaining these principles. Before you join, be sure to read over these rules and make sure you are ok with them.

_As per the Roleplay Administration Act:

  1. The roleplay of Alcris is headed by the Culture Councilor.

  2. The Culture Councilor may appoint a team of up to two other members to form the Roleplay Administration Team (RP Admin Team) of Alcris.

    1. Roleplay Admins have the same powers and responsibilities as the Culture Councilor, however the Culture Councilor is able to override their decisions.

    2. The Culture Councilor is able to dismiss and appoint Roleplay Admins at their discretion.

    3. The Roleplay Admins are responsible for creating lore when needed, maintaining roleplay continuity, enforcing roleplay rules, and keeping the roleplay realistic.

  3. The Culture Councilor is also able to appoint any number of Roleplay Developers.

    1. Roleplay Developers are responsible for taking tasks to develop the lore of Alcris. They have no say in roleplay rules, policies, or enforcement.

    2. Roleplay Developers take instruction from the Culture Councilor and the Roleplay Admin Team as a whole.

    3. The Roleplay Admin Team will create jobs, and post the details to the Roleplay Developers.

      1. Roleplay Developers will accept jobs at their own discretion, and will be tasked with completing those jobs.

      2. Jobs are to be on a first-come, first serve basis.

      3. Roleplay Developers are required to fulfill one job every two weeks. Failure to do so will result in automatic termination unless excused by the Culture Councilor.

    4. The Culture Councilor is able to dismiss and appoint Roleplay Developers at their discretion.

_As per the Roleplay Nation Creation Rules:

  1. Nations must be a citizen to join the roleplay.

  2. Nations who want to join the RP must fill out a Roleplay Application Form created and/or maintained by the Culture Councilor.

    1. The Roleplay Application Form must be linked in the Roleplay section of the Master Dispatch.

  3. Roleplayers must have access to the Regional Message Board. Members are encouraged to join the Discord too, however it is not required.

  4. Each roleplayer may only control one nation.

    1. Exceptions can be granted by the Roleplay Admin Team for members should they wish to control a puppet nation or develop another nation.

      1. A puppet nation is a nation whose government is under the control of another nation. These nations, while under your country's influence, are still required to be realistic (for example, too much policing may result in rebellion).

      2. A Secondary Nation is a nation that you control that has nothing to do with your primary nation. While in control of a secondary nation, it is expected you keep in mind that they do not have anything to do with your primary nation and, as such, cannot be used as a means to “boost” your primary nation.

      3. Neither of the above types is able to colonize.

      4. The above rules are able to be exempted by the Culture Councilor at their discretion.

    2. Exemptions to this rule are able to be revoked at the Culture Councilor’s discretion.

  5. The Roleplay Admin Team has final say in where applicants are placed once they join.

    1. The Roleplay Admin Team is required to consult with applicants to best fit the applicant’s nation in the world with what their vision of their nation is.

_As per the Roleplayer Requirements Act

  1. Nations are hereby subject to removal from the region's roleplay if they do not fulfill the following requirements after a period of three days have passed from the violation:

    1. Nations within the roleplay must make an official roleplay post once every three weeks.

    2. Members of the Roleplay must remain citizens

    3. A new Nation must post its first post within 3 days after joining.

  2. An exemption can be granted upon request by any member of the Roleplay Admin team if said admin believes the reasoning is acceptable.

  3. The Culture Councilor is also able to make blanket exemptions should an event make it difficult or impossible to fulfill any of these requirements.

_As per the Roleplay Code of Conduct

  1. Roleplay posts must follow the rules established in the Alcris Code of Conduct and the Alcris Legal Code.

  2. Roleplayers are expected to be respectful to each other. This includes bullying, harassment, baiting, flaming, and otherwise being intentionally malicious to one another.

    1. This includes IC and OOC talk and actions. For example, doing things such as repeatedly targeting a nation without a valid reason is prohibited.

  3. Roleplayers are expected to be courteous to the Roleplay Admin Team. If they ask a member to change something, that member is expected to work with the team, not against them.

  4. Excessive complaining about the roleplay or its guidelines will result in temporary suspension from the roleplay.

_As per the Realism and Cohesion Roleplay Rules

  1. God-modding and metagaming is prohibited.

    1. God-modding is controlling other people’s characters when not given permission.

      1. This also applies to articles in the Wiki. Making Wiki Articles about another nation’s assets (characters, companies, histories, etc.) or altering any assets of a nation in one’s own Wiki Article is prohibited unless permission has been granted by either the nation who owns said assets or the Roleplay Admin Team.

    2. Metagaming is using OOC information or motives to influence your nation’s decisions.

      1. It should be noted that planning events with another nation, such as a conflict, is allowed, however such a plan must be realistic to a roleplayer’s nation.

  2. Nations must accept the responsibilities of their actions.

    1. This means consequences from either other nations or the Roleplay Admin Team.

  3. The Roleplay Admin Team has the right to enforce events to ensure compliance with realism and cohesion.

  4. Wikipedia Articles must comply with the cohesion of the world.

  5. At no point shall a roleplay post contain actual examples of the following:

    1. Fantasy Creatures.

    2. Biologically unviable species.

    3. Magic.

    4. Cryptids.

    5. Angels and/or Demons.

    6. Unrealistic and/or experimental technology (exceptions may, but usually won't, apply)

  6. The Roleplay Admin Team has the right to declare anything realistic that wasn't covered in the list above.

_As per the Roleplay Enforcement Code

  1. Violations to these rules are subject to correction by the Roleplay Admin Team.

    1. The Roleplay Admin Team is able to issue punishments and/or corrections at the discretion of the Culture Councilor.

  2. The following measures can be taken to correct and/or punish roleplayers for breaking the rules outlined.

    1. Corrections:

      1. Correcting a post to make it more realistic and/or cohesive via an override post or ordering the posting nation to change it.

      2. Correcting a Wiki article via an article override or ordering the wiki’s nation to change it.

    2. Voids:

      1. Declaring a post made by a nation void, and therefore no longer canon.

      2. Declaring part of or all of a Wiki article void, and therefore no longer canon.

      3. Declaring historic events void, and therefore no longer canon.

      4. Declaring a nation void, and therefore no longer canon.

    3. Restrictions:

      1. Declaring a nation to be restricted from making roleplay posts.

      2. Declaring a nation to be restricted from making edits to Wiki articles.

    4. Suspensions and Banishments:

      1. Declaring a nation temporarily suspended from the roleplay and all of its elements.

      2. Declaring a nation permanently banished from the roleplay and all of its elements

  3. Roleplay Admins are able to perform the actions in the following categories without consulting the Culture Councilor:

    1. Corrections.

    2. Voids.

  4. Roleplay Admins are able to perform the actions within the following categories with approval from the Culture Councilor:

    1. Restrictions.

  5. Only the Culture Councilor may perform the actions in the following categories:

    1. Suspensions and Banishments.

  6. Punishments can only be overturned by the Culture Councilor.

_Our Eras

Our roleplay is divided into eras. These eras affect what type of technology is available, as well as how we roleplay. For example, during the Ancient and Classical Eras, we mostly roleplay with planned events and outcomes, and in groups. However, during the Industrial Era, we usually have no idea what the other players are doing, and we only roleplay in a group if you've been conquered and want to remain as your people.

Below is a table naming our eras and detailing how they work. Our current era will be highlighted in red:

Ancient Era

Characterized by a quick and easy roleplay, all of the Ancient Era is done in groups.
Here, the very basics of your culture group will be defined, and roleplay posts will only consist of posts from your leaders detailing this information.

Classical Era

Much like the Ancient Era, this era is still roleplayed in groups, however it takes a bit longer, and posts from this era are much more explained.
Posts can also come from more people than just the culture leader.

Medieval Era

This Era is when things start to break down.
Many events in the Medieval Era are planned, but certain things that are not planned can be made as well.
This Era is also when many of our groups begin to break apart into separate nations.

Renaissance Era

This Era also encompasses the age of colonization.
Planned events are mostly a thing of the past by this era.
Groups are broken down even further as nations that used to be played by two or thee people become nations played by one person and those nations' colonies.
Information sharing also starts becoming very uncommon during this era.

Industrial Era

The steam age has arrived! Even now, colonies themselves see their own versions of manifest destiny as the world begins to get smaller.
This era sees even more splitting of groups, so much so that only a handful of groups exist by this point.
This is also when the roleplay sees its time begin to get more uniform, as we go from randomly fast-forwarding through the centuries to a fast but steady time stream.
The middle of this era is also when the full, accurate map will be revealed to all.

Modern Era

The world begins to get "smaller" as the Modern Era starts.
Communication is established in some form between all of the nations in the roleplay at this point.
Resources begin to play a huge part in the roleplay by this point, encouraging players to try and get as much as they can (yay imperialism).
This era also marks the beginning of when wars tend to get much more bloody and destructive, so keep that in mind.
This Era is also when our ABO website will begin to be used. Time will also slow down a little.

Atomic Era

While our roleplay won't ever include the use of nuclear weapons (to stop people from ruining things for others), the splitting of the atom happens.
During this era, information becomes increasingly accessible for other players to see, and technology begins advancing much more steadily.
This era will also see, or might see, the fall of many of the world's empires.

Information Era

This era encompasses the here and now. Well, the beginning of the internet to now.
Information in this era will essentially be instant, and communication between nations will also be immediate.

I think sometime around the beginning of the industrial revolution. If what I heard on the discord server was correct

as an RP admin, I declare that I give my nation 300 million nukes and declare war on everyone and nuke everyone. Sorry, roleplay is over, I win.

Floyssauu wrote:as an RP admin, I declare that I give my nation 300 million nukes and declare war on everyone and nuke everyone. Sorry, roleplay is over, I win.

Floy wants to play fallout new vegas: NS edition

Ryanius shouldn't we also get the regional referendums or this month announced on the RMB?

"The average income tax rate is 66.2%, and even higher for the wealthy."

This is something I always found odd about NS statistics. Like... they only calculate income tax, but they never take into account if you were to put more tax burden on businesses, or inheritance tax, or sales tax, etc. All tax has to go to income apparently?
